I recently purchased the Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro MK2s, and while I may not be the typical studio professional they are marketed towards, I can confidently say these are an incredible investment. My main reason for buying them was simple: I wanted a pair of headphones that I would never have to worry about breaking, backed by reliable, long-term support. These deliver exactly that. Build Quality and Comfort The build quality on display here is genuinely exceptional. They feel super nice in hand and are constructed almost entirely of metal, giving them a reassuringly solid, bulletproof feel. This is a pair of headphones built to last a decade, not a year. A huge bonus is the inclusion of two distinct sets of earpads. The default pads (which I would describe as velour) offer a plush, warm, and highly insulating experience—perfect for colder months or focused listening. The second set (the pleather/leatherette pads) are more breathable and better suited for extended summer sessions or when you need a slightly punchier bass response. The option to switch depending on comfort or season is brilliant. Sound Performance The most stunning aspect, however, is the sound. It is simply AWESOME. I've listened to music for years, but with these, I am genuinely hearing things in the background of my favorite songs that I have never noticed before. The separation and detail retrieval are immaculate. Every instrument, vocal layer, and subtle texture is presented with clarity and precision, making the entire listening experience feel brand new.

These sound so much better than my HiFiMan Arya Organics. At the time of purchase, those headphones cost double the cost of these. They're very comfy as well. I'm deaf in my left ear but the bass from door knocking in videos or games let me know there's someone to my left. I can feel the bass and it's wonderful. These are great headphones even for music. I have them paired with a schiit Modi multibit v1 & v2, with the vali 2 + and vali 3. Obviously I have better performance with the newer gear but it still sounds great for the older set.

The Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro Mk II headphones are closed-back headphones that come with two different cables (straight and coiled) and two different kinds of ear pads (leatherette and velour), all packaged in a durable case for easy portability. The cables are fitted with 3.5 mm plugs used in most phones and portable audio players, but a 1/4” adapter is included. These headphones are efficient enough to be used with phones and portable players. These headphones were intended for use by recording professionals and musicians in recording studios; as such, their build quality is excellent. Although they are designed with professionals in mind, I have found them to be top-notch headphones for in-home use when listening to various genres of music - classical, jazz, rock/pop. These headphones excel at extracting information from recordings without overemphasizing any particular range in the audio spectrum. Simply put, you will hear what is on the recording. I found the DT 1770 MkII to be lightweight and comfortable to wear for extended listening sessions. I prefer the leatherette ear pads to the velour pads for comfort, but I can discern no difference in the sound quality using either type of pad. I found switching between the pads to be a little tricky, with scant instructions provided on changing them. (Hint: start attaching the new pads at the V-notch on the earphone cup.) It is possible to spend several thousand dollars on audiophile-quality headphones, but for those with more modest budgets, the Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro Mk II headphones will get you a long way down the road to audiophile nirvana. Highly recommended.

Out of the box sound amazing. Don't even need an EQ. Of course everyone's ears and tastes are different but if you're a casual audiophile. These things are perfectly tuned out of the box. Materials feel great and sturdy. Comfortable feel and the clamp force isn't bad. In fact, these feel way better than the Arctis Nova pros I am replacing these with. The clamp on those is way too much and they are made for a smaller head compared to these big headphones. These headphones can be adjusted to fit a smaller head or a large one like mine. The carry case is really cool to have if you need to transport these. And if you get a dac amp with a truebass function. It will add some extra based to balance out the higher treble. Let alone having a dac amp gives you superior sound quality. With and without truebass these are amazing. I paired this with a ifi zen v2 and will give you insane headroom power wise. Pretty expensive for a set of headphones but you are actually paying for a professional grade high quality set of headphones. These aren't gimmicky gaming headphones. These are the real deal.

Headphones sound/feel fantastic. They are comfortable. Changing the earpads is a very painful task and takes way longer than it should. They should use magnets or something rather than a tiny ring of rubber/plastic holding the cup on. Something i don't think I should have to deal with when spending 600$ on a pair of headphones. If you don't switch out the earpads much then it probably won't annoy you or affect you much.
