We saw this huge crack in the top part of the pitcher's body when opening the box. When contacting Brita US about the issue, they told us to contact our local provider (which didn't respond). Bottom line: we paid for a broken product and received terrible customer support.

So $48 for a plastic pitcher is a bit ridiculous but the quality of the product is fine. To echo other reviews I am not sure the water actually goes thru the filter. I got this with the long lasting filters and replace the filter every month. It seems like every other month the filter does not seat correctly. I end up reseating it a dozen times thru out the month with no luck. I can pull out the white tray and fill it with water and watch the water flow in 4 streams out the bottom. As fast as my tap can put water in it goes thru the filter? Does not seem like the filter is doing it job then. Would like it to seal better around the filter and wish there was an easy way to tell if the filter was working or not. Ok changing to 1 star and wishing I could do less. Products like this is why Amazon should allow me to write “No No” words in the review. If your going to buy this just by a $1 pitcher, it will work better. I have broke 3 filters from pushing them in trying to get them to stay, but the second I let go they are loose. The latest one I got pops out after is push it into place. When I say pop it’s pops out like 3 inches in the air sometimes. Just junk. ... show more

I've used Brita water jugs for years and bought this to replace my previous one that was broken. This one feels very cheap and is very basic - to the point where I wondered if it is an authentic Brita product. The packaging was solid but also very different to how they are sold in the shops. The lid has to be taken off to fill the jug (as opposed to flipped open which is the new style) and there is no cover on the spout. I checked in the local store for comparison and the jugs there don't have a spout on this style either but it's s slimmer spout so less 'open' (I would prefer the spout to be covered, like my previous jug, for hygienic reasons - keeps any flies, splashes, dust etc out). Also the ones in store all have the flip open lid rather than the much older style of taking the lid off to fill it. Mine came with the longer lasting filter which is a great idea but I find the water has tasted less pleasant. I'm waiting to see if it improves but right now I wouldn't buy the longer lasting filter again ... show more

Pitcher has been great so far. My main issue is that Amazon ships this in a brita box with the filter inside of the pitch without any kind of padding, so naturally the filter cracks/damages the inside of the pitcher while being jostled around during shipping. I got this pitcher in an attempt to avoid paying $50 at least twice a year for a fridge filter, and I think it's a lovely design, I like the color, but I CANNOT use it. I've had it since January and all I've done is let it sit with water in it, then dump it, clean it, refill it, and maybe try a sip later that day. Every time, it has reeked of either chemicals or mildew. The water tastes of mildew. I kept thinking it might be me and I'm annoyed that I waited to finally give up and admit that the filter, at the very least, has something wrong with it. This is the filter that was sent to me with the pitcher, by the way. So I saved money, in theory, on a fridge filter, but now I have to immediately buy a new filter and hope the filter was the problem, or abandon the pitcher entirely. Not really sure what good it is. I have really horrible city water with a lot of sediment and hard calcium. Hoping for a better taste of water as advertised and reviewed but nothing tastes different. Disappointed in product.
