This is a great water pitcher that actually performs and noticeably improves the taste of your tap water! I have had a Brita water dispenser for years now and have kept up with routine filter changes. The water from my Brita was horrible and you could smell the chlorine that was still coming off of it. The filters for the Brita were the name brand filters but would still leak water through even with proper placement. Throwing the Brita away and keeping the Pur! To verify my suspicions I had the water tested that came from the Pur. The Pur completely removed the chlorine from my tap, good hardness levels, and actually decreased my TDS from about 180 to about 140. You can still taste some minerals but it still has a nice crisp and clean taste. I am now looking to possibly buy a Pur fitting for my tap! Quality product! My 7-Cup Water Filter PUR Pitcher is perfect. It is well built and compact. It is leak-free. The water tastes so clean and pure. One note is to be sure to place the blue reservoir to face the correct front direction for a leak-free fit...and a lid tight fit. The blue reservoir can be filled 4-cups at a time. I didn't time how long it took for the water to filter through. If I had to guess, I would say approximately 8-10 minutes to filter the 4 cups. I was rearranging things in the fridge to create a space for the pitcher and by the time I finished, the water had already filtered through. I am very pleased with my new pitcher. ... show more

I would have given this five stars, but learned after I purchased it that PUR no longer has a take-back and recycling program for its cartridges. I'm trying to figure out if I can save them up and take them back on my next trip to Home Depot (just like for used batteries, lights, etc.) for recycling. I love the ease of use, how quickly the water filters so you don't have to wait very long for clean, good-tasting water, and the slim design that fits into the side door in the fridge. I had accidentally broke my last Pur pitcher and this was perfect to replace it since I had bought a 4 pk of Pur filters and I have 2 left. This came with 1 filter included so its definitely worth it, I did some research and you do save a few bucks, something is better than nothing.
