I’ve had a Culligan filter pitcher of the same capacity as this PUR model, but filters for it are no longer available, so it was time for a replacement. I saw that the PUR got great reviews, and I was not disappointed in my choice. The PUR filters quite quickly, easily 3 times as fast as the Culligan. Our water here is heavily chlorinated, the worst I’ve ever experienced; it smells almost like pool water. After filtration through the Culligan it still had a faint taste of chlorine; but after filtration through the PUR, there was no residual chlorine odor or taste. The water tasted great! This was using the standard PUR filter. The pitcher has some very nice features: there’s a round hatch for filling the reservoir, so no need to remove the entire top. The lid itself locks onto the pitcher, so when pouring it out, the lid stays firmly attached. Another great feature is the little flap over the pour spout; this keeps the pitcher completely closed until you pour, as it opens automatically and closes itself when you’re done. This keeps out those nasty little gnats or curious bugs which occasionally fall into an open or accessible container, contaminating the entire contents. A very big plus! The pitcher is well-made of sturdy plastic; sure, the filters seal on a neoprene O-ring to ensure a tight, secure seal between the upper and lower compartments. I had the larger size but it was getting real worn out, then my husband made me a widow.....so its just me and I bought the small size. Im on a well and see what people put on their lawns for fertilixer so decided to go this route. Besides I like tea heated on the stove and this is a great way to get it. I have never experienced any leakage and the filters now work real fast and are very easy to install. This one is a great value for the money! ... show more

    • This is a great pitcher except the lid will not stay on no matter what.

When you are pouring the water into your cup the white part of the top of the lid comes off it does not snap on completely no matter how much you try how much you maneuver it it does not stay put so you have to hold your hand in order to pour the water into a glass not that big of a deal but it's a little annoying beyond that it's a great water filter picture perfect size for the fridge and the water tastes great the design is the issue. ... show more

Pure filter system works perfectly and I know this because I have hard water and if I poured it in the dog bowl, it will leave watermarks otherwise. I’m very happy with the size of the filter as well because just one pours the whole dog bowl.

I’ve been wanting one of these for a while since I live in an area with hard water, I have birds who drink sink water, and water packs are getting pricier by the week. This was an awesome solution!! I love that it’s clear and not that purple color, zero leakage, I dropped it twice due to loss of most mobility in my hands but it held up so it’s pretty durable! HOW TO USE/WHAT I DID: open it all up, take everything apart, and rinse everything off with cool water for 15 seconds, ESPECIALLY THE FILTER. Then, put the blue thing back on and put the filter in with the peaked part facing toward you(up). Put it in and twist. After that, fill it all the way(as much as the blue section can hold) with water. THE WATER IS GOING TO COME OUT BLACK/GRAY AND THATS NORMAL!!! LET IT ALL COME OUT THEN DUMP IT OUTSIDE/IN SINK(idk what difference either makes). lastly, rinse the clear thing and then put it all back together and fill it up as much as u want then fridge it ... show more
