So far, so good. This is a decent water cooler/ice maker that's unique in that it's a closed-system and works using five-gallon water jugs. Ideal for my apartment, where I don't have a water connection to the ice maker in my fridge. It's a bit of an energy vampire, especially if you keep the hot water switch on. Having ice as needed is nice, however, I must say. For the first 24 hours, the machine was noisy and gurgling - so much so, I spent about an hour with gpt wondering if something was wrong. After a few loads of ice were made, however, it was fine. A good machine! No leakage here or strange taste. A bit pricey.

Every drop of water from this thing tastes like plastic. I tried removing the plugs and draining the unit 2x, wasting 5 gallons of clean water to no avail. You cannot get the nasty plastic taste . My grandmother’s 1950s ice maker is more efficient than this expensive piece of junk. All day and night this thing is gurgling and swooshing and bubbling, non stop, it’s like the growling stomach of a hungry ogre. Definitely returning this, nice thing is Amazon seems to know because they offer free FedEx pickup for return (which is a first for me).

What they don't tell you is you should immediately do a full cleaning cycle with citric acid crystals on this before using it. Otherwise everything will taste like volatile plastics.

It malfunctioned within a month of purchase. The ice dispenser began spewing water, emptying the gallon in no time. Fortunately, Amazon’s customer service is exceptional. They promptly picked up the defective appliance and dispatched a replacement to my doorstep.

This is an awesome dispenser for 5 gallon water jugs. This unit is made to hold the bottle underneath, so it is easy to load, takes up less room, and you don't have a giant water bottle on display. This not only dispenses water straight from the bottle, it also offers cold water, hot water, and best of all, ice! This is a well designed and well made unit that really works great. The controls are right in front, easy to understand, and easy to use. The cold water gets refrigerator temp type chilled, and the hot water is hot enough for a cup of instant coffee or tea. This dispenses the softer bullet shaped ice, which is great for chilling drinks down quickly, and is fun to crunch too. The bottom door opens easily, and you slide the bottle in by just tilting it a little and rolling one side up into it, then tipping it back upright and finish sliding it in, easy to load, and the top just plugs into the bottle, no mess, no leaks. This is a top name product, and the materials and craftsmanship show it, it looks great, and should last a long time. The UV light filter keeps the water in the lines and machine safe. There are cheaper units out there, but with these features and this quality you can not go wrong with one of these units. 5 Stars!

This machine is nearly 6 months old. The awful taste of produces makes the water undrinkable. It is awful. I have done so many flushes with citric acid with vinegar. I flushed the tanks. I flushed generally through the whole machine. Awful machine do not order this.
