This pitcher and the filter are a great value, being somewhat cheaper than the name brand 10 cup, with the same great tasting water. The water flows through the filter quickly, so it's ready to drink in no time. The size is compact and fits well in most fridges, especially ours, being it's always stocked! It's also easy to put together, and easy to install the filter. One thing I wish it had was a hatch on the top to refill the water, instead of having to take the cover off. The hatch would allow for faster refilling, which is something many name brand pitchers have. Other than that, it's a great value if you're looking for a quality water filtering pitcher.

I purchased this product as a replacement for a Kirkland (Costco) pitcher that I'd had for several years which itself was a replacement for a Brita pitcher. My husband and I drink a lot of water and we appreciate that we can fill this pitcher from the tap and drink as much as we want without having to use plastic water bottles, thus having a positive environmental impact. Pros: This was easy to set up. The instructions seem to be similar to the other water pictures I've owned. It comes with one filter and putting the filter in was simple. The pitcher is easy to clean and the lid fits securely. The water pours well and there are no drips. I thought the water tasted good - no mineral aftertaste. I like the feature on the top of the lid that reminds you when to change the filter, and I like that this can use the old filters I have so I am not wasting them. The plastic is clear and easy to see through. I just recently got the pitcher so I can't attest to how long it will work well, but my initial impression is positive. Cons: There are just two minor things I found a little bothersome, but not enough to reduce the rating. First, my old pitchers had a spot to flip up to fill the water. This one you have to take off the entire lid. It's not a big deal - just a difference. On the flip side, it's one less piece to break, so maybe this isn't really a con at all. The second thing is that when I had to empty the first two pitchers full of water (normal - ensures any loose charcoal from the filter is out), I took the lid off to dump out the pitcher and the fill area started to slide out of the pitcher. In both of my old pitchers (each different brands - see above), this didn't happen because the reservoir seemed to be more firmly in place and it took a little pulling to get it out for cleaning purposes. I was caught off guard and had to catch the reservoir before it fell into the sink. I guess the pitcher isn't designed to pour without the lid on (which would obviously prevent the reservoir from falling out) which is why I don't think it deserves a reduction in stars - it's just something to be mindful of if you choose to use the pitcher without the lid.

This is an excellent knock off of a Brita. The water tastes wonderful. It is big enough that it fills up 2 of my water tumblers (not sure if their size but they are quite large). The listing says 10 cups I believe. The filter is the same used for the Brita brand, so they are easy to find. It does take a few minutes for it to fully filtrate the water in the reservoir. I typically fill my big tumbler then top off the pitcher. I do other kitchen things that need doing, add a little bit more in the reservoir and put it back in the fridge to filter. I'm never without crisp, clean, cold water. I've always been a water drinker but my consumption has definitely increased while using this. I don't like being without it when I travel. It's made of a thick clear durable plastic. And it seems like it will hold up well. It's easy to clean and is a good product in general.

Amazon Basics 10-cup Water Filter Pitcher After switching from bottled water to save money and reduce plastic byproduct intake- I purchased this for my downstairs fridge and I'm more than satisfied with my purchase. It’s a solid budget-friendly choice. I'm very happy with this purchase. I picked the 10 cup size over the 6 cup size for convenience while still being able to fit into the fridge without taking up too much room. Water tastes noticeably cleaner- chlorine and tap flavors are reduced without leaving a flat or “overfiltered” taste. The handle is comfortable, pouring is smooth, and the lid snaps on securely. Filter installs easily and doesn’t leak. The weight is nice and light for its size. Functions perfectly. This filter light indicator is clear and simple so you know when to swap the cartridge. It uses any type of filter that is this size(brand doesn't matter as long as the shape is the same) so replacing them is simple. The pitcher is light weight and sturdy. It's BPA-free plastic that disassembles for rinsing. Hand-wash recommended to avoid lingering smells; a quick scrub removes any faint plastic odor. CONS I've read that it's not a fix for very hard water. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a dependable, easy to use, and great value alternative to bottled water(and their plastic byproducts going into our bodies). Also to reduce plastic waste for the environment. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer them if I'm able. Cheers to tasty clean water!

This was one of the only ones I could find that was both a larger 10-cup size, and ALSO had a little flap that covers the spout. I ordered it for exactly those two reasons. Most of the filter pitchers I saw on Amazon have an open spout with nothing covering it, so dust or little bugs like gnats/flies/ants could get down in there with the uncovered versions. This one DOES have the covering flap over the spout and works perfectly. Besides that, it's exactly what I expected and performs perfectly. No complaints. It fits both regular Brita filters and the Brita Elite filters, so it's no different than other pitchers that were lots more expensive for absolutely no reason. No complicated setup or installation, just drop the filter in the slot and press firmly to make sure it's seated/sealed and you're good to go. I've also had no issues with the lid coming off when pouring. The lid extends to the top of the handle, so you simply hold the lid down with your thumb while you pour to ensure the lid doesn't come off and it works perfectly. It's also quite durable for what it's designed to do. Yes it's plastic but it's not flimsy at all. I've been using it for a few months now and it's still in perfect condition. Unless you're dropping it or something there's no risk in it cracking. It will last for years.

I've used this product for over a year. Overall this pitcher is great. It's a good size, filters pretty quickly, can use the less expensive filters, and is sturdy, The only gripe I have is the lid. It needs a complete overhaul, then this product would be a full 5 star product. The issues with the lid are as follows: the lid needs to be pushed down firmly to prevent lit from falling off when you pour the water, but by doing so, when you have to remove the lid to refill the pitcher, you have to wiggle the lid back and forth and then give it a really good yank to get it off again. Secondly the pour spout is horrible. It easily flops fully open when you pour water into another container whether that be a coffee maker reservoir or a water bottle. Additionally, the water stream is too wide so that filling water bottles requires an act of steady precision that should not be a requirement of simply pouring water from one container to another. Would I buy this again, yes, but I'm hoping that by the time I have to replace the one I have, the lid has been vastly improved. Hint Hint Amazon design engineers.
