Everything is as expected with the exception of the Wi-Fi connectivity. There is no app and it doesn't connect to the Internet for remote monitoring. All it does is creat an ad hoc network you can connect to and enter the IP address in your web browser. It's very rudimentary and you can only access it when you're at home. Because of those huge limitations I would write off the Wi-Fi feature and think of this as a dumb charger, which for the price is ok but still very disappointing. It will charge my Bolt EUV at over 11kw, the connector is easy to use, and the cable is a generous length. Mounting and installing it was very simple and easy to do, and requires very little time. This EV charger was easy to install, (we have electrical training for the hardwire for a new outlet in our garage but the unit comes ready to plug into a 4 prong 240vac outlet) but a little difficult to get it working. We were going to return it, but were finally able to get it working at about 10 pm last night. The major issue was with how to deal with the PE fault code. at first bootup the system had a red then green then blue followed by a red bar along the vertical silver 1/3 of the system. upon reading the fault on the display it was a PE fault. we saw this in the add for this device but the directions are wrong. before turning off the unit get into the wifi settings and enter your 12345678 code. once in the system then hit the settings on your phone, you will see the PE fault slide bar on. swipe to turn off. then power down the BourgeRV EV charger. wait 30 seconds then power the unit back on. this fixes the PE fault and the charger worked great for us. our level one charger indicated we had 9 hours to charge our new Kona Limited and our BougeRV Home smart level 2 EV charger when plugged in indicated 40 minutes. ... show more

I would not call this a smart charger. The app is not really an app. The charger works great otherwise.

    • Great features and great mobile app the PE fault was fixed in seconds with slider
This was so easy to setup and get working even with the common PE fault. I really like the mobile app and ability to see usage. We had a 240V plug added to the garage by an electrician and this connected nicely on the wall right next to it. The cable had plenty of length to reach the vehicle either at the front or back of the garage. We used the directions in the product details to quickly remove the PE fault and everything has been working great since. ... show more

There are a lot of features on this Charging system that I don't use, but see how it could be extremely helpful especially the feature to charge your car on off peak hours. So far I'm really impressed by the quality

    • Lots of Features and Intuitive
I have to say that I am quite impressed with this EV charger. I have tested out quite a few of these and this one is right up there with my favorites. It has some of the features I find to be the most important and useful. Not the least of which are the sheer number of safety features included. This charger is made to protect your vehicle in the event something goes wrong. I find that to be very reassuring, since I would rather replace my EV charger than my vehicle. Second this charger is much faster than the level 1 chargers and is either faster than or on par with most of my other Level 2 chargers. Lastly, the app is easy to use, and it allows me to charge during off-peak hours. The app also shows me all the important information I want to know at a glance. The only thing I would change would be to lengthen the cord slightly. 25 foot is a good length, but I prefer at east 27 feet or more. You just never know when you’re going to need a few extra feet. My wife and I both got new EVs recently. It's my first EV, she's had them before. As is the case with every new thing I get into I've gone out and tried to determine the best equipment, gear, chargers, adapters, etc. to use with our new cars. My plan has been to set up a charging station at home along with one at my office and at my wife's office. I've installed this charger at my office where it has done a great job. First of all, it's a very good looking charger. I guess that's not the primary consideration with a device like this but I'm really big on aesthetics. It looks sleek, modern, high tech. It fits in well with the design of my office building. It can charge very fast which is a good thing. The current is adjustable and it has been designed with a number of safety protections built in including lightning, over-voltage, under voltage, improper grounding, etc. On top of everything it's waterproof. I've got mine installed in an underground parking garage but it's good to know that it can handle the elements. The smartphone app is very functional and you can keep an eye on the charger's performance with it. In addition, you can customize settings such as current and charging schedule. I've tried a number of different EV chargers and this is one of the best in terms of price to performance. Highly recommended! ... show more

We recently leased an EV and needed a charger. We had one that came with the house but it was terribly underpowered. It would take over a day to charge the battery when it was under 30%. This charger looks pretty sweet and works great. You can read the specifications on the product page so I wont bore you with that. We had to have an electrician come and install a new plug, wiring and a 60 amp breaker. Now the car will charge from 30% to full in about 5 hours. It comes with a couple of cards incase you mount it outside or something. I'll never use them but it's a nice touch. A couple of negatives on the charger but not enough to lose a star. First one is the initial setup. There are some reviewers that go into the PE fault code so I wont mention the details. It just takes some research and time, but once its fixed its fixed. Hooking up with your phone through Wi-Fi is kind of a pain to hook up to, a dedicated APP would be much better in my opinion. There's not a lot to do on the web hook up. I wish I could switch it to fahrenheit from celsius for us backwards Americans. Pretty satisfied with this charger. ... show more
