I bought this because it is BMW and I have a BMW. But this has nothing to do with BMW quality or engineering. I got a licensed electrician to install it and it cost me 800$ after the installation this thing did not work. We tried 40 amp 32 amp anything, there is power inside, all blue lights are on, solid. But it does not charge the car. Tried everything and there is no support, awful application. Now I gotta get the electrician again, uninstall this thing and gotta get another brand with actual customer support. Summary: do not buy it, low quality, zero customer support, zero quality control. This is not exaggeration, it is probably the most awful product that has BMW logo on it.

I had this installed by a licensed electrician. There was no manual in the box, and what's online doesn't match what I see. This all comes down to DIP switch settings. I see a row of 5 on the left and next to it a row of 6 switches. I'm told I need to set it to work at 32 amps and not require an RFID or other authentication since it's for my home. I have no way to figure out what switches I need to set. Out of the box, this thing doesn't work. I verified that my I3 does charge correctly, so it's not the car. Oh, last little annoyance: there are 8 star screws that hold the faceplate on the charger. NOWHERE do the installation or user manuals tell you what size torx you need to remove it. I called 3 BMW dealers and no one at any location knew the answer. So, telling you all that it's the T15. Instructions that are wrong are worse than worthless. I've already spent too much time wrestling with this. Either the seller gets back to me Monday or they're getting a return and I'm out $1k for the hardwired installation. Thanks a lot BMW.

The unit has solid construction and works as expected. My electrician had some issues setting up the charger. It does not come with good instructions. I had to contact BMW for help. This electrician had set up many other brands. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Recommend to support my BMW IX.

There were no instructions in box , If there were I would set the dip switch in proper position. Also only 1" knockout openings. L1 label is covered by sticker and can not see well. Total of 5 different screw head bits are needed to install , some need to be even linger than regular. Screwdriver bits are NOT included! Compare to Tesla this is awful design.
