I dug about a foot down in the sand then screwed the spike in. Backfilled the hole and we stayed out most of the day at Myrtle Beach. Toward the end of the day a gust came and blew the umbrella over. The screw in spike was bent and one of the rivets pulling out. Gonna try and make it last the week. I think if they would fill the hollow tube, solid plastic insert , up to the screw in handles and through rivet it in 3 or 4 places it would really strengthen it. Also could make the bottom section a thicker gauge aluminum. Well It made it through the week at the beach. ProTip!! Dig a hole as deep as the handle. Twist in as far as you can and then bury it and mound it around the pole. UPDATE 6-28-22- Murphy M from Bluu contacted me and offered a replacement. I accepted thinking that it would be a new and improved version of the 7.5 footer taking what I said into account for product improvement. However I got the 7 foot with table and it does seem to be an improvement from the 7.5 foot with the plastic twist handle. The 7 foot has a metal bar that you use to twist it down into the sand and as a bonus includes a cloth to use as a sand anchor. This seems to be a better product and I will give Bluu props on customer service. I hope they improve the 7.5 foot umbrella in the future. Until then buy the 7 foot with table. ... show more

Ok. Wow. Wow. Wow. So I broke the damn thing in the first 45 seconds... I commented as such. I got an e-Mail. The company apologized to me... they asked me some questions, identified why I may have broken the umbrella... and offered to send me a BRAND NEW ONE!! I got the new one VERY quickly... so quickly I was literally surprised when UPS rang my bell in what felt like a day. I brought the new one to the beach.. used the umbrella.. and wow, just wow. Excellent. NOTE: Once the umbrella is in the ground and you're using the "table" properly... DO NOT TRY AND MOVE THE UMBRELLA!!! YOU WILL BREAK IT IN TWO SECONDS FLAT!!! HOWEVER!! If you use it and "mount" it properly... this is an AMAZING deal... A+ would absolutely buy again. So happy. ... show more

This won't let me review the other umbrellas. I ordered another one bc I love the orange one so much and wanted one without the table for different occasions. The umbrellas without the table are garbage. Very flimsy. The pole anchors in well but it's not even that windy and the umbrella spokes are so weak and flimsy its getting blown all over the place or turning inside out. Not the same umbrella AT ALL *First of all, if anyone has a poor rating, it's because they got a factory hiccup product. Please exchange or reorder. This umbrella is awesome, the ancor screw works very well and umbrella is very sturdy. The table thing is SO great and convenient. Its sturdy weight wise, not intended to set a drink on, except in the drink holder. In the pic I have a huge 24oz can fitting perfectly in the holder so it's a good size. I will say its kinda deep. I feel like you'd have to fish out a standard size can. But sticking something, like a grocery bag or whatever in there prior, is a quick fix. Love this umbrella ... show more

    • Sturdy umbrella with tilt
Great umbrella. Has a screw bottom to securely drive into the sand. I've seen umbrellas go flying when the wind suddenly picks up, have not had and don't expect to ever have that issue with this one. Has a tilt feature which helps a lot with keeping things shady without having to move chairs or move the umbrella. I liked it so much I ordered a 2nd and friends have also ordered it. I had one issue with the strap on the carrying bag coming off on one end. Reached out to customer service and they shipped me a new case. The replacement bag delivery ended up getting a bit delayed and it would not have arrived by the next time I wanted to use the umbrella, so customer service sent me a whole new umbrella that did arrive in time. 5* customer service. If I had to nitpick I would say that the fold out handle used to screw the umbrella base into the sand is made out of plastic. If it had been made out of metal it would feel a bit sturdier and enable screwing down further. But like I said above, I've had no issues with the security of the umbrella in wind. So still a 5* review. ... show more

    • Holds up great in the wind
The media could not be loaded. It came with no directions and no hooks to connect the sand bag so we had to fashion a connection ourselves. So glad we checked before we went to the beach. It has a pin to connect the two poles but no hole in the pole to put the pin in so that was weird. On a positive note we are using it today in some pretty strong winds and it’s holding up great. ... show more

I had such high hopes for this, but unfortunately they were not worth the money & we are returning them. We live at the beach (so yes we do know how to properly install an umbrella in the sand) & the first time we used it, it flipped inside out twice from a 3 mph breeze we had that day. The inside supports that actually extend the umbrella when open are made of some sort a flexible material to avoid breaking if it does flip inside out which for us was part of the problem. Any little breeze or wind and they flipped inside out whereas on more traditional umbrellas the parts that actually extend the umbrella are not flexible. We tilted the top as the sun moved and the entire umbrella almost fell over. As you can see from the picture the screw part that goes in the sand is almost nonexistent compared to our old Tommy Bahama umbrella In the orange case. The material of the poles (I’m assuming it’s aluminum, but don’t know for sure what the product description says) are so light there is nothing to anchor it down or any weight to them to keep them steady. I will say as far as sun coverage goes, it was good. These would be good if they went into a table, but not for sand as they are intended. ... show more
