Description
Warm your pool fast with a Magni-Clear solar blanket for Rectangular In-Ground Pools. Each of these innovative pool covers is packed with air bubbles that create an insulating layer, protecting your swimming pool from chilly winds and nighttime cooling. These tiny cells trap heat, so water stays warm even on cloudy days and cool nights. The clear plastic design lets in more sunlight, so the warmth reaches deeper for consistent, natural heating that surpasses comparable Intex spa covers. Our outdoor blankets are UV-protected and chemical resistant in order to endure years of direct sunlight.

We live in a warm, windy and mostly sunny place but the pool was always a bit cold and we stopped swimming in it 6 months a year. We left the blanket on the pool when not swimming. In two days, we could feel the water was better. In a week, it was so warm we could just lay in the water at night. My son complained it was more a jacuzzi than a pool, he found it too hot! It's easy to adjust the temperature by letting the cover on more or less time. When the winds blew, the pool cover stayed in place and the water stayed deliciously warm. We have only tried it in spring yet and we love it. The cover arrived very quickly. It was bulky but not to heavy for two people. The blanket was easy to cut to follow the shape of the pool. One person can put or remove the cover but it is easier and faster with two people. We also noticed less water loss probably due to less evaporation. On the minus side, the pool doesn't look as beautiful with the plastic cover on the water. You see plastic, not water. You have to get used to the hassle of removing the cover when you want to swim. But for us, it is well worth it. We love our warm water and our only regret is to not have bought one earlier.

This solar pool cover really does it's job. We put it on our pool and it really does increase the temp abut 10 degrees in about a week. I also think that it prevented evaporation much more than without one. We had to refill the pool biweekly now instead of weekly which is a lot. It is very dry here in San Diego and we are also trying to conserve water so it helps to not fill the pool so much. It is definitely heavy when you take it out of the pool, but it helped me to just roll it like a carpet and then drag it to the side of the pool. The only thing I hated dragging it, is it will pick up debris and dust if it is not clean and when you drag it back in the pool, it brings those things in the pool with it. It helped once I get help in actually lifting it and placing it on top of something. That helped out a lot. It is also good in keeping the leaves off of the pool, but you will have to content with getting those leaves off of the cover instead. I love it because it does what it is supposed to do. Certainly better than going out and spending a lot more for a pool heater.

I did a lot of research on solar covers before finally choosing this one. I’ve always had the thick blue ones from Leslie’s pool supply store, but that’s because the water district used to offer a discount coupon every couple of years when it was time to get a new one, which made the expensive cover not as painful to purchase. Well, they have stopped offering the coupon so I decided to look elsewhere to see if I could find something comparable yet less expensive. After reading the mixed reviews, I finally settled on this one. It’s not as thick and durable as the blue ones I’ve always had, but it does the trick. It definitely warms our pool overnight or keeps it warm when we use it. I did have an issue of it melting together in one spot when I left it rolled up on top of our artificial grass for the day but that’s my fault for not thinking. We are in Las Vegas and it was over 110 and the fake grass really heats up. Other than that, I’ve used it for a couple of months now and so far so good. Living in extreme heat as I do, I don’t expect these to last more than a couple of years. So hopefully this one won’t let me down. Side note, I do typically store it properly when it’s off the pool and I wrap it and store it in the garage over the winter. Hopefully this will add to its life. **UPDATE 2 years later: The cover is now 2 years old and we are beginning the 3rd summer of use. I’ve noticed that the cover tears very easily, much more so than the thicker blue models we’ve always had prior to this one. Other than that, it seems to be holding up about average considering the extreme heat in Las Vegas. However, because of the tearing in a few areas, I will not purchase this model or style again. Hope this helps with anyone else considering this cover.

So I was considering getting that whole solar heater on the roof thing for my pool, but when I found out how much it was going to cost I said “actually the temperature seems fine.” Really though it was too cold. So I got this cover on a recommendation from a friend who said they work great. I was skeptical at first, but this cover warms my pool so good! When I started the pool was around 60° and now after about a month my pool is 90°! It’s almost too warm! My pool is in full sun for probably about 80% of the day, so that might have something to do with it. I would imagine less sun would heat less, but I would still recommend it! Update: this cover fell completely apart after about one year. I’m hoping to get a replacement from the manufacturer, but we’ll see!

This is nothing but cheap VERY THIN, FLIMSY, deflated bubble wrap! The air bubbles are not at all full, but almost flat upon arrival. We bought this same item and used it for 3 years before it fell apart so badly that it was clogging our pool equipment. But this new one is NOT anywhere near as sturdy and thick as the first exact same item from the same company. It is ridiculous! Now, I have to repack this wad of cheap plastic bubble wrap and drive 2 hours round trip to return it! Stop selling worthless junk please! And to boot, they are demanding this huge item that was delivered in ONLY a plastic bag to be returned in a box! Save yourself and DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I’ve had multiple pool covers and by far this has been the most durable.

Update May 2020. The first cover worked for the 2015 - 2017 summers, disintegration became too bad after season 3 (stored inside in winters), so I ordered a new one in April of 2018, used 2 summers and left it on over this winter to keep leaves out. It’s starting to tear and disintegrate badly, plastic bits floating in the pool. I emailed product support because no one answers the phone, but didn’t get an answer. I’d chaulk it up to coronavirus but reviews from 2018 report the same. Great warming cover, but plan on purchasing every 2 years, at $50 year it’s cheaper than a heater, but the warranty seems useless. Original review: So far it's awesome, I got my pool up over 100F (102f) this summer in North Florida. That's about 15 degrees higher than last summer's average. That felt like a hot tub, and I had to remove it to cool it back down to refreshing temperatures, but amazing how cool 90F can feel after you've been swimming in 100F water. It did not keep the pool warm enough for me in the winter in North Florida, but there's nothing you can do with an unheated pool when the nights drop into the 30s I guess, except heat the pool with a true heater. This cover will heat your pool, though, and extend your usage season, so if you want your pool warmer during pool months, go for it!

I have only had my clear blue wave 14mm cover for this pool season so far, so i cannot attest to its durability just yet. We have an 18ft above ground pool, and our pool has never been warmer! Just like bath water. Dare i say, it warmed it too much at one point? I have had my pool for 3 years now, and i never had to use much algicide because my water was always freezing, and the chlorine took care of that. Now that our pool is super warm i have to add algicide with my weekly shock treatments. At 1st i did not and even though i would shock my pool turned green. No big deal, easy fix, and totally worth the warm water. I just thought i would write that to let someone else know, because i did not. Worth it, even if i have to buy a new one every year.. i would.
