I bought this for a 16' x 48" round Intex ultra frame pool. The cover is great and works wonderfully at heating up the pool water. It is big enough to cover the top of the water with no extra over hang. There is a slight gap around the edges but only about an inch all the way around. Not a big deal at all. It has heated up my pool to feel like a warm bath more than a cold pool. I've found if I turn my pump off only the top 3-4 inches are real warm and the bottom of the pool is cold HOWEVER leaving the pump on circulates the water and the entire pool is kept warm! It only took 2 days to get really warm like this in 70℉ weather. I found myself warmer in the pool than out of it on a nice 70℉ breezy day lol. I also live in an area of NW Oregon that is very windy most of the time and I can say this cover hasn't blown off once. Not even close. It just stays floating on the top of the pool. The added bonus is it also helps keep bugs and debris out of the pool. I am fortunate to have been able to set up my pool where trees aren't around or close over it but there is a large field with LOTS of dandelions blowing their "wishes" all over the place when it's windy. This cover has helped tremendously in keeping them out of the water. I spent a lot of time looking into these types of pool covers and what color worked best and after a lot of reading I figured clear would be best for me. I can not comment on if it works better than black, grey or blue but my common sense says clear will magnify the heat/light in a similar way as glass would with the sun and thus create more heat and retain more heat. I also had the forethought to order this while getting the pool ready for set up so when it came I was in the process of filling the pool with water and was able to put it on when I was done. I ran the filter continuously for 48 hours then put it on a timed mode per manufacturer's recommendations and when the pump went to timed mode that's when I got only the top few inches to heat versus the whole pool being heated with the pump on continuously. Once I put the pump to run 24 hrs and left it I didn't have the cold bottom anymore so I recommend a pump on continuously for whole pool heat with this cover. I also would like to mention that I have 3 children, 9,6,3, who have each tries to pop the bubbles on this cover without success, and promptly given timeouts because of it lol. It is thick. This is NOT your standard bubble wrap. This stuff is thick and strong. Strong enough to withstand three naughty children trying their hardest to pop the bubbles without being able to strong. I've had this product for two months now on my saltwater pool and there is no sign of failure yet. My husband was skeptical and a bit irritated at first I bought it and thought I was wasting our money, but after experiencing the difference it makes he praises me on the purchase. I highly recommend getting this cover for your pool and can say you won't regret it with confidence. When the day comes I need to replace this cover, it is plastic after all and nothing lasts forever!, I will be buying it again and have already set this item to my wishlist so I can find it easily when that day comes. Yes, I am that happy with it. I know this has saved me a ton of money already versus buying an electric heater for my pool and the cost of electricity to run it as my husband wanted to do 😜.     • fits 22' pool, stops frogs. oh my.
works good for our 22' pool. It expands and contracts in the heat/cold a little bit, fits tight in heat just right, has about 1" gap in cold. seems durable and gets the job done. We have to shock the pool once a week or so in hot continuous weather, an oxymoron statement made in Seattle area,.. due in part because the clear pool cover helps heat the pool and it lets solar energy (algae food) in ... It probably saves 1 degree of heat loss over night, and helps add 1 degree heat during the day I would guess, compared to not using it. So without a clear pool cover the pool seems to heat up and hold heat better... 1 or 3 degrees a day with out it....compared to 2 to 4 degrees with it. the gap is just big enough for frogs at night when it cools down for them to sit in the water along the edge over night. not everybody has frog problems, but this might be helpful to know if you do ... the frogs seem to stay either along the edge, or on top, they croak and stuff, but they don't actually swim around a lay eggs. A few dive under and never get out, unfortunately, but they don't congregate and take a swim, lay eggs and get out. Without the cover, they get in and stay in, and do lay eggs. I catch at least 4 or 5 frogs every night and never see them mating when they are stranded on the pool cover or along the edge. Without the cover, there is always 1 or 2 sets of proud parents to be going at it. ... show more

Bought for my 20' square in ground pool. Very easy to trim to size after placing on pool for a day or so. Does a great job of maintaining heat from pool heater, pool chemicals, and reducing evaporation. It is a bit of a pain removing and replacing when using the pool, but well worth the effort. We generally use it (in FL) from mid November through March, then clean and store it. Will usually last about 3 seasons for us. Don't know if company name makes a difference with these. ... show more

I live in a hot dry region, so, when the weather reaches a good and toasty temperature, this product works really well. At first it seemed to only jump the water temp about 4-5 degrees, which is a lot less than promised on the product description and as described by some other reviews. However, what it does do is help hold the temp overnight, and easily keeps debris out of the water. We have done a lot less removal of dead bugs and other lawn waste this year because of it. I did follow the advice of another reviewer to buy big clamps to hold it onto the edge of the pool at least around the area where the pump shoots water back into the pool. It holds the cover from sliding under. We have a 15 ft pool and it is just a little larger so when clamped it covers the rest of the water just fine. So far it has stayed put even in the crazy winds we have that blow across our property, I had thought it might push it under or blow up in the air. Again, I think the clamps have helped. It will tear easily so you have to treat it carefully. ... show more

I ordered this 24 foot round cover on July 7th 2015. I used it for 2 months last year and 2 months this year. It has been disintegrating for the past month. At first, it just started tearing from the edges when you pulled it across the pool to get the pool covered. Now all the bubbles are just flaking off and clogging up my filter. I've been cleaning them out of my pool for the past 2 weeks and finally just said the heck with it and folded it up and threw it out of the pool. Total piece of crap. If I could rate this a ZERO star, I would. I've had other covers I paid less for that have lasted for 4 to 5 years. This cover isn't worth what you'd pay for a roll of toilet paper and is about as useful. I bought this because it had good reviews, how people rated this good fills me full of wonder. If I were to rate this immediately after I purchased it, I would rate it excellent too. The point is, it has no longevity. I took very good care of this cover. When the season was done, it was dried and rolled and folded and placed in a large plastic bag and stored in a climate controlled basement. I tried contacting the Vendor, Blue Wave and if you go to their web site and try to submit a comment using their contact info, it gives an error and tells you to try again later. I emailed the only email address on their site and haven't gotten a response. I gave them my personal phone number and work number and yet no response. Amazon doesn't list a way to contact them on their site, at least not that I've found, I could have missed it. I could include photos but that's been done already. I could show you what the inside of my filter looks like after the pieces have clogged up my DE Filter twice. The point I'm getting at, be prepared to be disappointed the 2nd season you've been using this cover. ... show more

    • Heavy duty solar cover
This is a nice heavy duty solar cover. We used it this summer and so far it has he’s up nicely. It also helped warm my pool up pretty fast When itvgot really hot outside , had to remove part of it so some heat could escape
