I bought this pool cover 5 years ago and used it every year in addition to a safety cover to keep light and leaves out. Two years I had it under the safety cover and didn't need anything to hold it down. 2 years I used it on top of the safety cover and used those horrible water tubes to hold it. Last year I was fed up with buying new and expensive water tubes so I decided to use the attached grommets and garden staples. This worked well with the paving stoned around our pool but by spring most of the grommets were ripped or missing and there were some small holes so I decided to buy a new one. When I went to the Amazon page I saw the 15 year guarantee and contacted Blue Wave. Simple process of emailing them pictures and a screenshot of my original order. I was told they would send me a new one. HOWEVER, since it was 5 years into their guarantee here's what they said... Under the warranty agreement you are responsible for the prorated amount of $52.00 for the cover plus the shipping amount of $25.62. An additional service charge of 3% ($2.33) is applied to all credit card purchases. Total cost: $79.95 Since I'm going to try the garden staples again this year and I know their grommets won't hold up I've chosen to purchase a much less expensive cover (40 bucks) that I'll probably have to trash in the spring. ... show more

A large tarp with grommets. Heavy duty, would work well if you can stake it down. I didn't have anywhere to stake it so I used a lot of pavers to hold it. Well we have high winds here and the pavers wore holes in the tarp. Also the wind blew debris under the tarp between the pavers so it all was for nought. I 86'd it in the spring Like I said though, if you can stake it properly it would be a useful cover. ... show more

This worked fine for 2 years. During the third winter water started seeping through the cover and by late spring the pool was green. I'll probably try another one, but plan on replacing it after a couple years. It's still cheaper than the chemicals required to get rid of the green and the aggravation that goes with that. ... show more

Update: Bought this in 2017, finally throwing it out in 2023. We would likely have thrown in out in 2021, but we actually haven't removed it since then. Now it finally started tearing and has a few gaping openings, and the pool is filled with tadpoles... The "15-year" rating on these covers has to be for perfect conditions, like no snow and no chance of leaves or nearby airborne agriculture causing algea. I don't ever actually expect to get more than 3 years out of a pool cover anymore, so 6 out of this one is pretty good. Original: So far, so good. It's held up to about 6 months of a mild northeast winter. No wear showing on the edges, and it looks like water is not seeping through the seams. I pumped it completely dry a few days ago, and it stayed dry until the next precipitation. Other Amazon covers had inexplicably worn through or stretched at the seams, allowing pool water to seep up and refill the cover if the cover pump sat on it. Happy with this season so far. Hoping I get 3 more out of it. ... show more

This is my second of this exact cover which is used to cover my pool. The first lasted about 5 years and eventually formed holes and generally wore out. Research didn’t show any better options so reordered the same thing. Generally, material on this 2nd cover seems good but noticed 2 ringlets on the ground after installing over the pool. I used water tubes to secure the cover so the ringlets weren’t even used and for that same reason the fact that a couple fell off on their own doesn’t really bother me. ... show more
