I have many trees near my pool, so I use this cover over my regular winter pool cover. It makes cleaning up the winter cover easy and helps to keep the pool free of leaves when opening again in the spring. It's definitely built to last. This will be my third season using this cover. For about 6 months out of the year, it's exposed to northeastern weather and it's still in perfect condition. The mesh webbing is durable and so is the trim around the perimeter. I use it on a Bestway 12 x 20 pool. I use the cable to install it just like you would a traditional pool. With that, the only thing I find annoying is I can never seem to figure out the exact placement when putting it on. It takes a few tries to get it in a position where it covers the top completely. I had this cover for only 2 seasons and it started to rip, I wasnt that upset because I know I bought a cheap cover just to last a couple of years being that the pool was coming down, we have very hard winters and you need a good cover if you live in a cold place, now if you dont have to deal with snow then maybe this will work for a few more years then what I got out of it. ... show more

    • Makes opening the pool much easier

Our yard is full of oak and walnut trees, which drop a ton of leaves each fall. I didn't use a leaf cover for the first few years we had our pool, and opening was always a pain, due to all the leaves and debris that you had to haul out with the cover...if you were lucky enough not to have the whole mess dump out into the pool. This cover changed that. Although the instructions say to let it sag down on top of the cover, I stretch it over the pool and hold it in place with light bungee cords, which allows the leaves (when dry) to simply blow right on off the cover as easily as they blew on. We can usually get three years out of these nets before replacing. There is a warranty on the net (and cover-same brand), but it stipulates that the old item must be shipped back to the mfg., which would amount to about what the cover costs new, so if having a usable warranty is important in your buying decision, FYI. We've gone through a few of these through he years, and they've all been decent quality. I'll be buying another one in a couple years if the pool is still with us. ... show more

Perfect for my 16x32 in-ground oval pool. It BARELY covers the pool, but that's exactly what I wanted, so I ordered this smaller size. I didn't want 3' of overlap. Instead, I used wire to loop through the grommets then around the anchors I had for one of those high-end safety covers that finally degraded after 20 years. This is made in Vietnam. I'm betting by a company that makes fishing nets. It's very high quality, lightweight, and durable. And the price was great at under $60. ... show more

    • You get what you pay for.

The price was decent. BUT I can see that it was not made very strong. The netting is made of thin strings of plastic woven into a netting. You throw it over your pool, then weave a coated cable in and out of the precut eyelet holes around the edge, thread both ends into a mechanism that allows you to twist the cables and tighten it down around the edge of the pool. The thin strings snag very easily when attempting to pull it around the pool (so use 2 people, and do it slowly so you do not snag it). It has been on our pool now about a month. We've noticed the woven strings are thin, they are spaced too far apart which allows leaves and debris to work it's way through the holes and, into your pool... which is THE whole reason for purchasing this netting. SO, what can the manufacturer do to make this a much better product? Use thicker strands of plastic and weave the holes smaller and closer together. That will make a huge difference. So, does this product work? Yes, but not perfectly. You still have to vacuum your pool of leaves and debris. I guess it also depends on the kind of debris that is close to your pool, and the size of leaves if it is a tree. We have an Oak Tree 30 feet from our pool, and the tassels and leaves can get past the netting and into our pool. ... show more

    • Large-holed mesh...

Somehow I missed that this pool cover is just mesh - not a mesh-reinforced tarp or something along those lines, but only mesh. As in, large open holes. As in, almost everything that falls in the pool goes right through this "cover." This does not work for our pool at all, as this mesh does not keep bugs, small leaves, and/or other smaller things out of the pool. Even the very few things that land on top end up in the pool when we take the cover off because it's really unweildy and sinks during the removal process, unleashing what few things this "cover" caught. I just spent an hour skimming all the leaves, bugs, etc. from the pool, after removing this mesh thing. I was out of town when this arrived and my husband, though baffled as to why I had ordered something like this, put it on the pool so now it's used and not returnable. If I had been home and seen this cover, I would have returned it for an actual cover that will keeps things out of the pool. Just FYI to anyone out there looking for a solid cover that will keep stuff out, this is not it. ... show more
