  • Super impressed!
Style: HydroSteam Pet
I purchased this wonderful Bissell Revolution HydroSteam Pet Carpet Cleaner recently (June 2026) and am absolutely blown away by its effectiveness and for doing an absolutely outstanding job cleaning my truly filthy carpets. My carpeting is at least 25 years old and has been living through 3 sets of cats (2 in each set) and they have had their moments when sick and vomiting all over the house in various places esp. when they were close to going to kitty heaven. I've had my carpets professionally cleaned before but the last time had to be at least 10 years ago. I essentially thought there was no hope for my carpeting other than replacing it which is something I can't do. I can't afford it and have too much stuff to move. One of my current kitties has asthma (never knew cats could get that) and I've been thinking if I could only do a really good clean on my carpeting, she'd be better. I can't say this is the ultimate outcome but when I used this wonderful machine, I couldn't believe how effective it was on many of the stains and smells that have been on it for such a long time. Even as you first step onto the carpet after entering the unit was super dirty and this unit completely cleaned it up. I'm still flabbergasted. I purchased that P.E.T. carpeting which is a type of synthetic carpet made from polyethylene terephthalate. It's advertised as stain resistant but it was a big disappointment in that regard. It stained very easily. I did end up doing my entire condo in the heaviest traffic areas and I am not kidding--my carpeting looks almost as good as the day I bought it. I still can't believe it. The difference is night and day and although this unit was by no means inexpensive, I felt even after one treatment I more than got my money's worth and was truly pleased with my purchase. I did have to fill up the tank (and added a little of the carpet solution they give you) probably at least 5 times and the water collected was absolutely filthy--and I mean pretty gross. My carpeting now looks alive again and I can feel the difference walking on it still after 2 weeks since the cleaning. I followed the guidelines of water to shampoo solution ratio and would actually recommend easing off a little on the amount of shampoo you add to it. It's not much in regard to the guidelines on the tank but I saw a lot of suds being created and sucked up and it took me a while to get most of it out. I had some leftover Bissell Deep Clean Pro shampoo I used up before adding what came with the unit and it smells sooo nice. Just a nice, pleasant fragrance which just smells clean. Same for what came with the unit. I plan on doing the house again with just water in the tank for an extra clean. This unit can blast steam on a stain and it heats the water so I think that really helped. That was the main reason I wanted this unit--the steam that helps loosen stains before the brushes do their thing. I can't recommend this enough because my carpeting was truly disgusting. It took several hours with a few breaks in between but I was just so happy with the results I was seeing, I just wanted to do the rest of the house and am so pleased I did. They say in the directions on the regular mode I used that the carpets would be dry in 8 hours. That was true. Yes, they were a little damp as you'd expect but by morning, everything was dry and clean. I was not disappointed at all with anything about this machine. It truly did an amazing job. ... show more

  • Fantastic carpet cleaner
Style: HydroSteam
Oh im tickled beyond happy. I had a old Bissell carpet cleaner that lasted me 5 years. I was surprised because it wasn't a fancy thing. But, I knew it needed desperately a new carpet cleaner. Let me set up my household. I have a man who for the life of me, doesn't wipe his boots before coming into the house. We live in Florida, we have sand. But, when its wet, its a messy clob. He will also mow the grass, work on cars, work with building stuff, and we have chickens for eggs....THEN come strolling in and yeah, it gets dirty pretty bad. Ha I also have, no judgment, 5 cats (3 rescues, 1 adopted my porch, then became family and 1 we still don't know where it came from. Was only about 5 weeks old when found and is a simease cat *no simease cats around here* so, there's 5 cats, 3 dogs. 1 is a 16 year old shih tzu, 1 is a spaniel *saved from the pound on last day left* and 1 great pyrenees. These carpets get their use. I don't do the typical floor tiles thats popular in Florida. My feet don't do hard surfaces. Ha. So, now that youre imagination a indoor petting zoo....its not, but the foot traffic...its a busy walking areas. I just used this marvelous carpet cleaner. The steam is definitely wonderful. I got small stains out that I couldn't even scrub out with dawn dish soap and a scrub brush..with EASE! This just went over those areas ONCE and im like, whaaat?? WOW! GONE! No more spots, no stains. Soooooo easy to fill, soooo easy to clean and that brush is fantastic. It also DIDN'T keep even one strand, clump of pet hair on the brush. NOTHING got clogged up because of pet hair and it was so easy to refill mid job, and so easy to assemble. Its not heavy. I was able to maneuver it very well. Im in my 60s, so I'm not as strong as I was in my 40s. But, I was pleasantly surprised by this carpet cleaner. I give it a 10/10 5 stars! I did get it on payments. Hopefully you can too. Because if youre trying to decide, need a carpet cleaner, but the budget is tight...get THIS, and on payments. Im just a regular amazon buyer. Im not a social media person, im not a paid bot. Im just giving you my honest review. Im extremely happy! Its worth the money. No question. Works great. Dries carpet quickly. And my house smells wonderful. ... show more

  • Well worth the money
Style: HydroSteam
I was needing a lightweight but through carpet cleaner. I previously had a bissell cleaner but, sometimes when children borrow things they come back in pieces and mine literally did. My carpet hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. We have a garden home built in 2002 and two 75lb belgian malinois. I use a dyson vacuum so the hair and surface dirt were "under control." Our carpet is a light mocha brown color, excellent for hiding imperfections and wear. It is original to the house. Yep, desperately needed replacing or burning. I throughly vacuumed 3 times over the span of a week before using the cleaner. I had hopes it would, at the very least, fluff up the worn carpet. I cleaned the living room and one bedroom. These were used and abused more than any others. The cleaner worked very well. It's not too heavy to make the task difficult, but heavy enough that it felt substantial while using it. It has a somewhat small water collector that concerned me. I thought "How many times will I have to fill, dump, and refill this thing." The advantage was the smaller reservoir made it easier to fill and empty. You'll get your steps in and I definitely did. I used all of the cleaner included and a jug I still had left from the previous one. I definitely would advise purchasing extra. My result was EXCELLENT! Please keep in mind the carpet is 24 years old. I did pretreat all stains with the pretreat setting. I took my time and throughly cleaned the carpet. I went over the cleaned areas excessively to pull the water out. I wanted it to dry as quickly as possible. There's no giving it time to dry in my crazy house. I love it and probably need to use it again, really soon. The best thing is I don't dread the idea of doing it. Just make sure you buy extra cleaner. So you don't have to stop in the middle of cleaning and run to walmart. ... show more

  • The worst purchase of my life – Not even exaggerating
Style: HydroSteam Pet
Oh. My. God. This is hands down the worst purchase I’ve ever made. This machine is the most poorly designed vacuum I’ve ever come across. Assembly? A complete nightmare. I literally had to stand on it to get the clear cover to snap into place. That should’ve been my first warning. I did half my living room the first day, planning to finish the rest the next, and things seemed okay—aside from constantly having to remove the cover to clear out pet hair that somehow wasn’t getting properly sucked up. Turns out, pet hair gets stuck between the panels in the clear cover that directs water to the bin, and there’s no way to open that section to clean it out. So once hair is lodged in there, it stays there—blocking the tunnel and making water extraction way less effective. Then, everything spiraled downhill. By the next day, the machine was barely sucking up water. By the time I got to just one bedroom, it was struggling to spray and extract properly. Then I tried using the hose attachment, and that’s when the real chaos began. The front panel kept popping off, spraying water everywhere—all over my clothes. When I finally tried attaching the hose, I had to stand on the panel just to get it to click in place. It took every ounce of strength I had, which is absolutely absurd. Within two minutes of using the pet cleaning function, the vacuum clogged, forcing me to stop, take it to the shower, detach the hose, and clear it out. I had to do this four times just to clean a tiny 2x2 closet. The mental breakdown that followed? I won’t even comment. The buttons and release mechanisms on this thing are a joke. Every latch is so tiny and recessed that you can’t press it with your fingers—mind you, I wear a size 5 ½ ring. I had to use an Allen key or a flathead screwdriver just to detach any part of the machine. And when it was finally time to pack this disaster up to return it? The hose doesn’t even have a quick-release button—you need a screwdriver just to get the handle out. At that point, I genuinely wanted to chop it into pieces and shove it in the box. What should have taken one to two hours ended up taking over six hours across two days. I should have known better—I already have a normal Bissell vacuum that smells like it’s on fire when I use it. I should’ve taken the hint and stayed far, far away from this brand. But now? Now, I know for a fact that Bissell is a complete scam. You could probably find a better carpet cleaner on Temu for $15, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it worked better than this. Don’t waste your time. Don’t even bother. Buy literally anything else. It might not be amazing, but I guarantee it won’t be worse. ... show more

  • Great machine
Style: HydroSteam Pet
I moved into a 2-bedroom apartment that was previously leased by a family with children. The carpet looked okay initially - it was certainly vacuumed prior to my move-in - but, after I spilled something on the carpet and cleaned it, I noticed that patch was about 3 shades lighter than the rest of it! After a lot of research, I chose this Bissell and I do not regret it. It is very user-friendly and easy to operate. It does require frequent emptying and refills because of the smaller size of the canisters, but these breaks in work are actually easier on your body. All in all, it's a great machine! For larger areas, it will definitely take time, but the results are satisfying! ... show more

  • Bissell comparison
Style: HydroSteam Pet
Ok grab a cup of coffee, its is not going to be short. I could say I love it or hate it, but its not helpful if there is nothing to compare with. To start out, I needed a new vacuum as if its smaller than a chicken my wife will try to vacuum it up and the previous unit didn't hold up to her unique style. While buying a new vacuum I decided I needed a carpet shampoo apparatus and bought a Hoover power scrub. Yes i know this is about the Bissell, Ill get to it. The Hoover worked good to start with, but unlike the Bissell, you can't put hot water in it. Now knowing that a man that knows everything is going to think if water is good, hot water is better, they should put that in big letters, not the small ones on front to not use hot water. I think that's more on Hoover than me. The plastic all turned yellow, the plastic holders for the tank fell off and it leaked after it warped every time I used it. It was useless to put don't use hot water in the instruction manual as dudes will never read a manual. It quite mixing the solution with the water tank which was my last straw. So I bought the Bissell. Yes we finally got there. I have used the Bissell on thick nap pile carpet, it does a very nice job and the solution and waste tanks snap in well and don't leak even after putting hot water in it. See Hoover, they made it so I can put hot water in it. The power brushes do a real good job and pull up enough cat hair left behind after vacuuming to knit a cat wig. Im happy with most aspects accept it lacks on suction power and leaves quite a bit of moisture in the carpet, which is cool if you don't want the cat in your bedroom. The cat is still not pleased with me. Here is where the Hoover shines. It spools up like a jet engine and removes all the moisture that would last almost 2 days from the Bissell to almost dry in 2 hours. Lucky the only thing still working on the Hoover is the suction. So the Bissell is a great unit if you dont mind wet carpets for a few days ... show more

  • SO VERY EASY, everything, and GREAT.
Style: HydroSteam
My old machine was a nightmare compared to this one... SO VERY EASY, everything from putting it together, out of the box (took me less than minute) to using it. NOTE: For those people who mentioned dirty water in the hose after use, do this fix: FIX: Put the upholstery attachment on the hose, set it to clean and clean the hose. For me I am a senior, and now have many limits. But this machine I am able to use, I just take breaks. It is no more effort than using an upright vacuum. And the PLUS for me is the smaller water and shampoo. My old one was so heavy that it separated the bottom of the plastic container from the top (a design flaw) and the model was discontinued so I was stuck. Since my limits physically this smaller one is wonderful I take a break when I run out, and I am not bothered to fill it a couple times if needed to do a whole room or one area twice. I needed something with steam. I have a blind cat and she missed the pee pad sometimes. I read the reviews, I watched the videos. When it arrived I already knew how to use it, but I still read the manual, and used it the same day. It does GREAT and so, so easy. There was something in a 2 inch area in my carpet. I have no idea what spilled. It was not something that obviously showed. It did NOT come out easily, but I concentrated on that spot with the steam for a while, a few times, and it got it out. I was using the shampoo with oxy and it would foam around this spot, so I could tell when it was gone. AMAZING, and it was NO work on my part, easy. I love the 2 separate CLEAR containers. I appreciate not having large heavy containers. The electric cord is a good length. The steam kills insects (if it is hot enough I could not find what temp it had), as well as helps with tough stains. Helps get rid of dust and pollen (vs blowing around in dry vacuum). I would LOVE the manufacture to tell me the temp, I believe 130 degrees is required for bugs and larvae. My house is on a slab foundation, so sometimes bugs and be an issue. I am so happy I spent more than I had originally intended and got this. I can't wait to do all my rugs. And it is so easy to use that I will wash them more often, and I LOVE the fresh smell in the house. ... show more

  • Very pleased
Style: HydroSteam Pet
Learning curve! The machine works well, if you pull the trigger going forward and backward, it puts down a lot of water/solution. I just pushed it to go forward then quick dry on the pull back. It worked wonders. Carpet dried within 30 minutes of cleaning and the dirty water tank had really dirty water in it ( we live where there is a lot of dust). Machine is not overly heavy, I am 68 years old and was able to do my living room with ease. The length of the cord is very generous, nice to be able to do the entire room without having to plug and unplug. I am very pleased so far. ... show more
