I bought this machine because my Hoover carpet cleaner was on it’s last legs and I wanted something that had steam capabilities for a deeper clean. This machine not only got a deeper clean, but it’s pretty much a better machine in every way. It’s suction is far more powerful and extracts the carpet much better. It also gets the carpet fairly hot and leaves it far cleaner than before. The best part is how easy it is to clean the machine, it comes apart very easily with not to many small parts. The only issue is that it’s fairly heavy and the steam mode does use a lot more water than just water alone. Hopefully this machine lasts because right now it’s incredible! ... show more

I had a Hoover Steamvac with SpinScrub that parts are hard to get now, and it really was a pain to clean. It really did not do a very good job either, with new models being much better I ordered a new one. I picked the BISSELL Revolution HydroSteam Pet Carpet Cleaner Model 3432. As I have dogs, a saint Bernard and a Rottweiler, hair is a real problem for any carpet cleaner. But this model makes getting hair out of the machine so easy and very little even gets into the tank, so the PET model is just a must. The steam function really works; this is no joke like the Hoover Steamvac that only warmed the water. The steam really breaks up stuff deep in the carpet, it heats the water to steam very fast, in under a minute. The three modes are easy to set and use by pushing a button and the three indicators let you know what mode you are in. All you need to do is push and pull the machine around and use the trigger button when you want to use whatever mode you are in. The solution tank is so easy to fill and use, and even the waste tant is easy to clean and install. This thing is just so easy to clean, I am so impressed at these improvements. All things combined make this carpet cleaner a good value for its ease of use and cleanup, let alone on how well it cleans a carpet. I am very happy with this unit and so glad I spent the extra money for this model. ... show more

After reading reviews and doing my own research, we (hubby and I) chose this shampooer. Love the steam technology!!! It is so so easy to use but really does an amazing job cleaning! I cannot compliment this product enough! I wanted to get rid of all the carpet we have in the bedrooms but now, after using this, I’m okay keeping the clean carpet!!! Makes ALL the difference.     • LOTS of water because it's the ONLY way to clean a carpet, in my experience

Absolutely the best performing rug cleaner we've bought. I am amazed at the criticism of too much water left on the carpet. How do you expect to clean a carpet without LOTS of water?? The competitors' marketing covers up the fact that the cheap stuff doesn't actually clean but leaves the the carpet dry. Well, it's dry because it's DIRTY. I WOULD like to dial back the water volume a bit BUT the Super99 orientals need to be soaked to get really clean so I've learned to park the beast on an old towel after disassembly. The reason why the machine doesn't suck up the water after a while is because it has very efficiently cleaned the carpet and the red filter just below the waste water tank needs to be wiped once AND the lower clear cover needs to be opened and the schmutz removed from the roller housing. I completely agree the lower cover is a PITA to clean and I have to use the garden hose to do it well. We made the mistake of using a light colored oriental right next to the back door and with two always-muddy Tollers and a Pug with a BAD attitude, I shampoo twice a year, table and chairs removed, etc.. The waste water is completely opaque the first try and I need three tanks of soapy stuff to do a 6x9 carpet. It's usual trade-offs - something that works versus something that just looks it would. A LONG time Bissell fan boy...because their stuff works. ... show more

    • Unacceptable Performance for the Price — Leaks Water, Leaves Puddles, and Fails to Extract Dirt

TL;DR: This machine leaks water, risks damaging floors, and doesn’t clean effectively. It’s massively overpriced and not worth the gamble ---- This carpet cleaner is a complete failure. It leaks significant amounts of water and does a poor job cleaning, especially for its price. The biggest problem is the constant water leakage. When using the hose attachment, the base unit leaks water while just sitting in place. I’m not talking about a few drips—it leaves actual puddles. For example, I was cleaning a chair in my master bedroom and paused for about 15 seconds to wrap the cord. When I moved the base unit, there was a large pool of water underneath it. I repeatedly went over the area trying to extract the water, but the carpet stayed soaked until the next night. This happened again while cleaning my couch. When I finished and moved the unit, there was a huge puddle of water on my real hardwood floor. As you wheel the machine around, it continues to drip, leaving a trail of water behind it that you then have to manually wipe up. This is unacceptable and potentially damaging, especially on hardwood. Even if it didn’t leak, the cleaning performance is still terrible. I cleaned my master carpet using the cleaning solution as instructed, then did a second full pass using only clean water to rinse and extract the solution. The waste tank filled with thick, opaque brown water—you couldn’t see through it at all. This was after the carpet had supposedly already been cleaned. That tells me it is not effectively extracting dirt or moisture. I’ve attached photos, but they honestly don’t do justice to how much water was left behind in the carpet. The dirty water shown in the tank is from the second pass on a carpet that had just been “cleaned.” I’ve owned carpet cleaners that cost far less than this and performed better. I only bought this one because of the high Amazon ratings, assuming the high price meant higher quality. I was completely wrong. With absolute certainty, this machine is not worth the money. I wouldn’t pay $5 for it. ... show more
