This is a long review but hear me out. Look, I know this thing is expensive but let me tell you something, I have a household of three dogs, my husband works construction, and I have a 14 year old daughter, so there is constant dirt and mud being tracked in on my large area rugs and sometimes pet accidents. You know how sometimes you will clean up pet urine with a carpet cleaning machine but yet the smell still lingers? Not with this machine! This thing has saved my sanity. I love all the different features and attachments that come with it. I love the dry only feature, the attachments work just as they should, and I bought the one with the 7” cleaning tool for my couchesand it has been absolutely amazing. I love that you can flip the pads over on the brushes for hair pick up or for the bristles to scrub. It cleans my rugs so well that if I do one area, I have to do the rest of the rug to match because then there’s one Clean streak, and the rest of it looks dirty. Which honestly I don’t mind going ahead and doing the whole thing because I love the ease of use of this machine. It is built very well and durable. I know a lot of people say that it has a small water tank, but so do a lot of other uprights that don’t work not nearly as well as this one does so I’m OK with the smaller tank because of how well this works. When I get done cleaning an area I feel like I don’t have to wait hours and hours and hours for it to dry, hence why I love the dry only mode. I really like the hair catcher and the dog mess extractor so that pet mess doesn’t go through the hose. I LOVE THE RINSE AND GO. It is so nice that after I use my hose on mud or dirt that I can use the rinse and go feature and it flushes out the hose. I researched Carpet machines for about three months before I finally made the decision to buy this one and I’m so glad I did! If you’re in the market for any kind of carpet cleaning machine or upholstery cleaning machine I highly highly recommend this product. It was super easy to put together. It comes with the Cleaning solutions, there’s literally nothing I have found that this thing can’t clean , like thoroughly clean. I’ve done our headboards, our couches, our chairs, etc and each and every time I started a project I couldn’t believe how fast I got it done and honestly how gross it was before I started, and after I finished. Yes I had to empty the water tank a bunch of times but again I don’t mind doing that because of how wonderful this thing works the water suction on this thing is amazing. It picks up every stain, every dried drool mark ( don’t act like you don’t have any if you have pets!) and has overall been a life saver for my home. Bottom line: If your on the fence just buy it! I know it’s a lot of money (well, it may not be a lot of money for you, but it was for me!) I know it’s an investment, but trust me you will not regret it.

Short version- buy it!! But know the tanks both clean and dirty water are small so frequent emptying required but still worth it. Long version- I have been researching vacuums for a while and luckily fell upon Vacuum Wars and The Stain Guide youtube channels. Both were so informative and really helped me decide the right machines (within my budget). Vacuum Wars goes into multiple different metrics of each vacuum and helps give pros and cons of each. And i followed The Stain Guide's process so it took more time than it would if you're just using the vacuum as directed but the results were great I am so happy! The Con here is really a known issue for Shark- small tanks as i mentioned above but it didn't deter me because the function and features compared to others were so much better. I also kinda like that they're smaller (when I'm not doing the whole house lol) I feel like I will be able to whip it out for small jobs without it being a whole ordeal. Also note, if there is alot of dirt/dust it does cause clumps when you switch from pushing forward (putting down water) to pulling back (drying). This only happend in one area where I wasn't as thorough vacuuming. That said the vacuum DID pick it up but you have to go over it slowly and in dry mode it helps more too. On a related note and shameless plug for my other shark vacuum I bought at the same time.... the Shark Stratos duoclean "regular" vacuum...WOW might be even more impressive than the wet vac. I vacuumed seriously like 6 times, it just kept pulling up dust/dirt, mind you, I had vacuumed 2 days before with my old dyson! I was shocked and grossed out honestly lol. They do say vacuuming the most important step so I made an unplanned investment on the Stratos and it was also so worth it and definitely made a difference....sorry back to the xpert... Things I love: How easy it is to use and how well it cleans! The suction is amazing. There is a dry only mode too so I went around after my deep clean and got almost a whole extra dirty bucket of water out. The attached hose makes it so easy its always ready to use and comes with a bunch of different heads. This model kicks the hose on like a normal vacuum when it goes into "parked" position and back into deep clean when tilted back. THEN theres a spot to clean the hose on the top of the vacuum which is so convenient. I honestly can't say enough good things so I'll stop this is already too long lol. I fail to see how anyone wouldn't love this unless the tank size really bother you. (P.s you can ask chatgpt your squarefootage with the Shark xpert and it'll break down your potential number of stops and time it'll take to complete the job with the accumulated stop time. It's pretty impressive.

We are a household who goes through carpet shampooers every 1-2 years. I have a German Shepard and a Dachshund puppy, who isn’t potty trained. My GSD is constantly tracking mud into the house and the puppy is constantly having accidents on the carpet. I have owned several Hoovers and Bissells in the past but as often as we go through them, Im always hesitant to spend a lot on shampooers. But this Shark is hands down my new favorite shampooer! Pros: It doesn’t leave hair clumps on the floor like a lot of other shampooers. It has cleaned spots that my other shampooers could never get. I also like that you don’t have to use a trigger to squirt solution. The machine does it all on its own and it’s just like vacuuming. It has a deep clean setting that releases the solution and then there is a dry only setting when you’re done cleaning that just sucks everything up! Cons: The dirty water tank is very small and you have to constantly empty it. Doing this one section of my living room, I probably had to empty the canister 25 times. I would also recommend stocking up on the Deep Clean Concentrate solution. The shampooer comes with a small bottle but as often you filling and emptying the water tanks, you go through the concentrate very quickly!

This machine works so well! I’ve had other machines before and decided to buy this one during prime days. I bought the x304 because it came with the xl tool. It was worth it because I used it to clean the stairs. It’s amazing how much gunk is in the carpet! I did have to empty the tank 3-4 times to complete all of the stairs and the upstairs room. I also ended up using the entire bottle for the upstairs, the master bedroom and the stairs. It’s a little on the heavier side and the suction is strong, so be mindful of that. Things I loved! love the fact that I don’t have to disconnect and reconnect the hose each time I want to use it. I could easily switch between heavy duty and stain cleaning. Love the “dry only” feature to help with drying time. Love the self clean mode. It was easy to clean the hose with and I didn’t have to worry about dissembling the hose to clean One of the BEST things is how easy it is to do the clean up/maintenance of the machine. It was designed so well. I can easily take out the roller brush, and other parts to clean them. The roller brush itself if designed well. Hair does not get caught up and that helps. Their design team did a great job thinking about all the parts and the cleanup. I hated my old ones because the clean up always took so long and it was cumbersome. I haven’t used all the attachments yet but I like the options. My only negative is having to empty the tank often but it’s worth it for all of the other things listed above. I would definitely recommend this machine.

I’ve had this carpet cleaner for a few months now, and I’ve really tried to love it, but for almost a $400 price tag, it falls short in several important areas. The best feature is the self-cleaning cycle. It makes maintenance easy and is honestly the main reason I kept giving this machine chances. Unfortunately, that one feature doesn’t make up for the rest of the experience. The suction performance is disappointing. If you want it to pick up water properly and avoid leaving streaks behind, you practically have to put extra weight on top of it while using it. For a machine at this price point, that shouldn’t be necessary. The dirty water tank is another major frustration. It’s very small, so it fills quickly, and if you move it even slightly while removing it, dirty water can spill all over you. On top of that, the tank is awkward to reinstall. It often takes both hands to get it seated correctly, which makes the process of emptying dirty water and refilling clean water far more frustrating than it should be. Another feature I really dislike is that you can’t control when the machine sprays solution. Having no control over the spray makes it difficult to clean efficiently and can leave areas wetter than necessary. Overall, the self-cleaning function is great, but the poor suction, small and messy dirty water tank, awkward design, and lack of spray control make it hard for me to recommend, especially considering the high price.

My Hoover PowerScrub finally broke after 10 years and was between the Shark CarpetXpert and the Hoover Smartwash. After doing much research I went with the Shark CarpetXpert HairPro and am so glad I did. The carpets are cleaner than they have ever been. I vacuumed my carpets before using the cleaner and the cleaner still got up some pet hair. I have used both the Deep Clean Pro solution and the Deep Clean Pet and they both smell great. The machine is a little heavier than the Hoover but maneuvers very easily. The only downside is that the water tank is on the small side and does need refilling more frequently , but I have found this to be a minor inconvenience as I am so happy with the cleaning result. Taking apart for cleaning is so easy that I do after every use. There is a QR code on the top of the machine that shows a quick video how to set up and the on line shark videos are great as well. Seems very well made and no leakage. Really like the hose already on the machine. Very happy with the purchase and glad I spent a little extra on the HairPro.

Works better than I expected. Very fast cleaning and picks up pet hair that my vacuum missed. I love the self cleaning hand tool. It makes cleaning up so much faster. I have cream carpet and it makes it look almost new. The drying time is very fast as long as you don't go over your carpet too many times. It is very easy to use, it feels like you are vacuuming and not using a clunky, heavy carpet cleaner. I have a bad back and this unit does not cause it to hurt at all. I love how it has a suction only option, it helps pull more water out of the carpet. I have used it 3 times since I purchased it and it still works as good as the first time I used it. I can pull it out and use it for just spot cleaning very easily. Which is very convenient for when my 2 cats cough up their hairballs. So far it has been a very durable and easy to use machine.

I'm giving this carpet cleaner 3 stars, not because its bad, it performs exactly as advertised. The 3 stars come from my real world experience from a first time carpet cleaning machine purchaser, so my experience may just be how it is for all of these home focused machines and Im just late to the party. In the real world, the dirty water tank fills up fast! After covering about a 5ft x 5ft area with the recommended 2 passes, I empty the dirty tank twice, which leads to the other discovery, the cleaning solution tank empties at half the rate of the dirty water tank meaning, 1 solution tank = 2 dirty water tank empties in that same 5ft x 5ft area. So in summary, for a 10ft x 10ft sized bedroom I used ~4 tanks of cleaning solution and emptied the dirty water tank ~8 times. Keep in mind you will run through quite a bit of cleaning solution even though its concentrate and needs to be diluted, and it's not cheap. Overall it performs extremely well even on high traffic areas, it may not make the carpet brand new again in the high traffic areas but it did improve the appearance of those areas significantly. If you have large areas to clean you may want to look into machines with larger tanks.
