Hose is a little bit to figure out how to route it but the unit itself is great, super light, easy to fill the water and easy to drain and clean the reservoir. Very nice unit and cleans really well. I bought this because my bissel decided to crap out on me and no longer funtioned. I have a shark vacuum that i love so i decided to try their shampooer and oh boy am i glad i did! This works 100x better. My floor is way dryer after using and only took about 15 to 20 mins mins to dry as opposed to taking all day to dry. It has nice strong brissels on the brush so it really gets in the nitty gritty. It did so well on my old shag carpet and even fluffed up the worn and walked down areas. I also love that almost every piece comes apart to clean so there is no yucky build up that is stuck there forever like other carpet cleaners. Just rinse it with water and it all comes off immediately and still looks brand new! The cleaner that comes with it smells very nice and floral and works pretty good! I have had no issue with it leaking at all, its great that it stops when the dirty tank is full and doesnt keep running and spill out on the carpet It is kind of heavy but doesnt feel to much heavier than my vacuum. I do wish it had a handle on lower section so it would help to carry up my stairs Overall i would absolutely buy this again. Super worth the extra 100 dollars to have a better product! Shark CarpetXpert is a Great carpet cleaner. Previously I have used Bisell and wanted to see what else was out there. I did some research and liked what Shark had to offer in their carpet cleaner. Here is my take away from my first use of the shark CarpetXpert. The attachment detail heads are impressive, there are 3 options. I used the small detailer head and the medium size to clean my stairs. The brush that is in each head has two sides giving you a choice of the type brush, I really like this! I did find that the hose attachment at the base of unit did leak but with some investigation found one of the clips did not fully click into position. Detached and reattached while listening for the two clips to engage . Problem solved. While cleaning I did find I became lost in the cleaning mode that too much water was distributed in a small area because I forgot to press the switch to extraction mode. A trigger would help for water distribution instead of the automatic water distribution in cleaning mode. The collection reservoir had to be emptied often but that did not bother me too much bc it was obvious by the dirty water the cleaner was doing a really good job. Fives stars for the ease of cleaning all the parts after use. Highly recommend reading the directions for cleaning those parts that are not so obvious. This was a big purchase for me. I have an aging lab who pees on the floor because she can’t help it. I have a shark vacuum and love it. That is why I was shopping this brand. I loved this shampooer. The only thing I did not like is it didn’t have a trigger and automatically dispenses the water. Otherwise it performed exceptionally well. I loved the upholstery tool! I used it on my steps and it worked really great! The cleaner that comes with it was awesome but I probably won’t buy it. Just being honest. It left my light colored carpet looking like new and got out all the spots and stains. It dried overnight. The persons review who said it leaves that carpet soaked that was not my experience. The tank was plenty big. The water dumps were brown despite the fact that I shampooed with my mom’s shampooer recently. I’m glad I bought it. ... show more

Good luck! It does not suck! I used it on an area rug before attempting to use it on my carpets. Lots of water output, but it didn't suck up the dirty water. The ratio of output to input was basically 10 to zero. Dumped water just fine, even on "Quick Dry Mode", but sucking it back up? I have only spots of water on the inside of the repository for the dirty water. There is no way to control water output. Let's say you ONLY want to have it suck up the water. NO output, just input. That option is not available. Let's say you want to spray this one section more (doggy stain) than other areas. Nope! You have no control, here! Going back to Bissell or Hoover. EDIT I tried this again on the actual carpet (not rug) and found it kicks up a TON of dog hair. If you vacuum, then use this Shark, you will get an entire dog out of your carpet and you can vacuum THAT dog up. NOW my carpet is clean. Vacuum, Shark, vacuum. Yes, it's a lot of work for your vacuum, but if you want clean carpets and don't mind the extra work, this really does help. Just in time for the holidays and family coming over! ... show more

Very light weight, GREAT suction. -PRO's- Only 2 settings: "Deep Clean" & "Quick Dry"-Unlike most carpet cleaners, this does not have a trigger to disperse the solution/water onto the carpet. As you push the carpet cleaner it automatically dispenses the perfect amount of water & as you pull the machine back towards you (slowly) it sucks it up. You use the "quick dry" setting after you have thoroughly cleaned the carpet. I didn't test the hand upholstery cleaner, but it came with 3 different heads. -CON'S- The water/solution tank is smaller than most tanks on other cleaners & I had to refilled it more than with the Bissell. It came with it's own solution... that I tried first....and it was awful. I was ready to return this item thinking it was not cleaning AT ALL! I used the solution that I use with the Bissell & had the carpets looking better than they had in 10+ years!!! *noise wasn't as loud as the Bissell *Size was smaller & easier to store. ***MY FLOORS DIDNT TAKE 12 HOURS TO DRY EITHER*** By far the BEST feature! Also, I have a thick semi-shag carpet that was "shedding" The Shark has the cover you can lift up & remove the bits of carpet. The Bissell does not have a way to remove the carpet from the shield & no matter how long or hard I sprayed water into the cover......the carpet is stuck . BISSELL Pros: The heat feature helps a little with tough stains CONS: -Bulky & heavy -Hand tool suction was less than adequate (my couch was wet all day & might have mildew now-that's my fault for not stopping when I realized it wasn't sucking alot of the water back up) -The hose for the hand tool attaches at the head of the machine & at some point the water stopped once it got to the end of the hose & was pouring the dirty water on the ground. I HAD HUGE MESS to clean once I realized it. -I didn't feel the carpet was "stain free" for all the SWEAT & EFFORT I put in. -WORST PART: My carpet was over saturated & took ALL night & 1/2 the next day to dry! ... show more

Well, according to Shark's website the Model # I have entered that has been scanned by the QR code states that it's an invalid model number. How can that be true? It is clear as water and the description on the carpetXpert is the following: Shark CarpetXpert Upright Carpet, Area Rug & Upholstery Cleaner, Built-In Spot & Stain Remover & XL Tool, Perfect for Pets, Carpet Shampooer, 3 Cleaning Tools, Cleaning Solution, Slate Green, EX151. Did I miss something? This product is a good product for the cost and is easy to use when cleaning your carpet. It truly has durability, and the power is better than any of the other carpet cleaners I have ever used in my life. The weight of this carpet cleaner is ideal b/c it isn't a product that you have to wrestle with in order to use. We LOVE this carpet cleaner. After having kids & endless tired of rag scrubbing the carpet & endless loads of laundry. We got this. We’ve used it on carpets, car seats, couches, rugs & everything else. Does all the cleaning with minimal work! The more time you have to go slower with sucking water the better. This is not a quick vacuum carpet cleaner, this is a thorough deep cleaner. We’ve had it for over a year. We love shark products & keep going back to them. Our only complaints with this carpet cleaner is we wish the dirty tank held more. And the hose is confusing, you have to unravel the hose before you plug it in, otherwise the cord will be tangled with the hose. But very minor & not a deal breaker.
