Description

The T8V is a two-way nearfield monitor that is optimized for home studios and small control rooms. With its 8” woofer, the bass-frequency response of the T8V extends to 33 Hz. The high-resolution U-ART tweeter extends to 25 kHz and is complemented by a precision waveguide with similar dispersion-control attributes to those found in ADAM Audio’s flagship S Series. The waveguide’s uniform dispersion of high frequencies provides a wide sweet spot that frees you from being glued to a fixed mix position while working. The beveled cabinet and sleek industrial design looks and sounds great in a vareity of spaces. The crossover of the 70 W Class D woofer amplifier and the 20 W Class D tweeter amplifier is expertly managed by DSP, and together they produce SPLs of up to 118 dB per pair.

  • U might oughta read this one
Style: T8V Set: Studio Monitor (Single)
Picky, picky, picky, traditional me has been until recently, with great attention to detail and a do without til u can get what u want mindset. I have not been able to play with the modern SAM Genelecs, but from a 35 year old Genelec expereince, and having owned Klipsch LaScalas, and as a classically trained musician, I thought I knew a small bit about how something sounded to me. Flash to now: 25 years without the Klipsch, and passive monitors that still sounded great but not what you knew was possible and now enter the Adams. I specifically got them for studio monitoring. I'll cut to the chase now: Every time I listen, I hear a timbre, tone, nuance, thrill, pleasure, growl, sigh, meh not as good as remembered, AND, funky thick tonal crispness across the spectrum coupled with locations and sensations of being in the room and instrument locality in time and space. As well: I got the recommended Sub-woofer for a 2.1, I am in a 20 x20 x10 foot room, have them turned volume wise as low as they can go, and you can get the thick palpable bass feeling of a real instrument, and, as much as the LaScalas with 15" speakers, and horns. That is the first time I am able to say that, it sounds as good crisp and thumpy as a 4x2x3 foot speaker efficient enough for one watt creating a 108 decibels. If it's not clear: for home surround, and or studio monitoring, for one they work, another they sound awe-sommmme, the ribbons recreate an old world thick warmth, they don't create ear fatigue, and they check every tonal, thick crunchy, thumpin need you have, and fyi, any bigger would be too much for this room to help explain the value. oh, and did I mention the price difference, which just the price is shocking in a good way: 2.1 for 1200 versus the latest Genelecs for a minimum of $32,000 US. ... show more

  • Best speakers I've had and still in a good price range
Style: T8V Set: Studio Monitor (Single)
I've had my T8Vs for just over 10 months now. I love them. I'm only a bedroom producer every now and then, so when I got new monitors, I wanted to use them as my listening speakers as well. The low-end on these allow just that (I listen to mostly electronic dance/ambient). If I put music on as I go to sleep, the bass feels full and balanced with the mids and highs even at low volumes. The highs are well known on Adam Audio speakers, but with these larger speakers, the lows are quite good too. I think I got great value in this price range. Makes me want to get even better Adam speakers in the future if I can afford to make the jump some day! ... show more

  • Easily better then their Yamaha counter parts. Maybe best Budget Monitors you can get right now.
Style: T8V Set: Studio Monitor (Single)
These things surprised me, they are cheaper than the HS8s, but less in demand and they easily sound better and less tinny in the high ranges due to the ribbon tweeter. Paired with the subwoofer they are a perfect 2.1 setup for anyone looking to have the ability to produce solid accurate mixes. I wont say they will replace a set of genelecs anytime soon but if you aren't making blockbuster films, scoring high end media or doing scientific tests on sound, these are beyond perfect. I used them to produce and mix hip hop/rap, RnB, Pop, and even some alternative folk style vocals and they are able to translate perfectly to headphones, the car or anywhere with good audio quality. They are a little simplistic and not having front facing LEDs and controls like volume, pass through, and pads makes them slightly inconvenient for the versatility of placement in a studio. You will be going to the back of these things often if you change your set up often and that means you will need adequate space. But that trade off pales in comparison to the price, given that they only 300$ a pop. They aren't the all time cheapest but definitely cheaper and better then any of their competitors. The best way I can describe these monitors is that its capitalism at its best when it works; A company slashed features that are not super important to rely on the stuff that matters most and passed that saving on to the consumer. Amazing pair of monitors. ... show more

  • Quality control
Style: T8V Set: Studio Monitor (Single)
Good quality packaging, ordered two but one of them would not work until I opened it up and noticed plug inside was not connected. Unexpected for a new product but still satisfied with the quality of sound.

  • Best bang for the buck
Style: T8V Set: Studio Monitor (Single)
After completing exhaustive reviews of all the competing speakers in this class such as Yamaha, JBL, Klipsch, KRK, SONUS, and Polk, we decided to go with the ADAM T8V for both technical and aesthetic reasons. The sound quality and frequency range is real and fantastic. The only flaw this speaker has is having a single RCA input on the back. It would be nice if they could replace that input with two TSR balanced inputs or possibly add Bluetooth as an option. That would probably increase the price. We used a TSR to XLR balanced cable from an audio interface to the speaker, and that is working great. Ran a frequency test on it and it was slightly better than advertised. ... show more

  • Great Quality! Great Sound!
Style: T8V Set: Studio Monitor (Single)
Bought 2 of these Adam Audio T8Vs for my studio and I am absolutely loving the quality. I have them attached to a Yamaha MG10XU mixer and setup was very simple. I have the sound dialed in exactly how I want and the performance is exactly what I wanted. Great Product!

  • Cheaper than other retail price
Style: T8V Set: Studio Monitor (Single)
Bought for $250 while most music stores sell for $300. Sound clarity is super! I was expecting a lot of bass since it's their largest from the T series but I'm hearing every little bass.
