Our problem is an old dog who has accidents, and sometimes we don't find the right away. I can honestly say that this machine surprised me. I had a similar (blue) machine prior to this that was nowhere near as good. The combination of the two cleaning agents does the trick. The stain is removed and the odor is gone. It works on all kinds of stains. I even spilled a glass of red wine on an off white carpet and it took the stain right out. It has numerous cleaning nozzles for all jobs. You can disassemble the machine and get it really clean, which I appreciate. The cleaning solutions are pricy but they last a long while. Pros: Incredible Suction Power: Most portable spot cleaners leave carpets damp for days, but the suction on this Shark unit is phenomenal. It aggressively pulls out water and embedded dirt from deep down, leaving couch cushions and car seats only slightly damp so they dry in a fraction of the time. No Manual Premixing: The dual-activated formula setup is brilliant. You fill one side with the Deep Clean formula and the other with the OXY Multiplier. The machine automatically fuses them together right when you spray, which completely obliterates old set-in coffee spills and pet odors without needing to pre-treat. Lightweight and Portable: At less than 9 pounds, it is incredibly easy to carry up and down the stairs, maneuver around tight vehicle interiors, or take to wherever an unexpected spill happens. Thoughtful Attachments: The included tools are actually useful. The pet mess tool does a fantastic job of isolating dirty liquid into a separate chamber, and the built-in hose-cleaning attachment makes flushing out the internal hose with clean water after a job incredibly easy. Cons: Small Dirty Water Tank: Because the machine is so compact and lightweight, the dirty water recovery tank is on the smaller side. This cleaner is the ticket. I purchased it to primarily to clean a chair and other items in a rental unit, and this made them look brand new. Easy to use and cleans great. You simply add in the cleaning fluid along with the water. Fill container to the line for the water then to the line for cleaning solution, Pull the trigger and away you go. Very fast to use and it took care of my issue fast. Saved me several hundred dollars on the 1st because I did not have to buy new chairs. Thye look brand new now and my wife is very happy with them. My unit looks fresh and new now after using this machine. I plan to use it in my automobiles now to freshen up the carpet and the cloth seals. I recently purchased the Shark StainStriker to clean up an old recliner, and overall I’m pretty happy with it. I used distilled water instead of regular tap water, which I think helped avoid any buildup or residue. It’s worth mentioning this isn’t a commercial-grade vacuum, so the suction isn’t super powerful, but it definitely gets the job done with a little patience. For my recliner, I had to go over it about three times before I got the results I was looking for, and in the end, it looked much better. One thing I noticed is that when you remove the wide head attachment, the single detailing vacuum gives the best suction results. I actually found this to be the most effective way to clean tougher spots. It would’ve been nice if the unit had a steaming feature, but even without it, the machine performs well for its size and purpose. The build is sturdy, compact, and well-designed, making it easy to use and store. For home use, especially on furniture or small areas, this is a decent product that does what it promises. ... show more

I bought this solely for cleaning my car and it did very good. I didn't experience any leaking while using it from either the cleaning solution or the dirty water tanks or any of the connections to the hose or unit. The tanks clip into place so make sure you hear the clip spring into place and you shouldn't get any leaks. The solution provided was enough to test it out and I am very satisfied with the cleaner and the solution both. Cleaning the machine before storing wasn't difficult at all. Just sucked up a couple cups worth of clean water and emptied the tank twice before airing it out and storing and no odour or anything. Great size to use anywhere. ... show more

I am so glad I ordered this spot cleaner and really wish I had years ago! We have a carpet shampooer, but it is large and heavy and a bit of an ordeal to use (certainly not ideal for small spots here and there, let alone stairs and cars). This is so easy to use and works as well as you'd hope! It is very maneuverable and offers versatility with the three different heads/attachments (plus more if you want to buy more). I used it to clean up a few cat puke spots, and a spot where my big fella decided to scoot his booty across the carpet. Three cycles of spray, scrub, and suck and viola! clean carpets again. If I had to pick one area for improvement, it would be to add a few more lines to the cleaning fluids containers. As it stands now, you have to fill the water one to the max fill line so you can add the right amount of concentration. The other container (the blue one) takes the cleaner straight up, which means you could pour back what you don't use into its container. Not so much with the concentrate. Having, say, three more options on the larger, clear container would be nice since I will rarely use all of that volume. That is just my 2 cents though and I could probably figure out the concentrate to water ratio and add my own lines. Overall though, I am very pleased with this and would 100% recommend it! ... show more

This has worked very well as a spot cleaner. When I come inside from gardening, my entrance can get a few stains from dirts that flakes off my shoes. I try to use caution. Remove then outside, bang the dirt loose, and other methods to reduce dirt, but inevitably when gardening or cutting grass something stains my beige carpet. This spot vacume does the job well. I have not had to refill the cleaning solution for several months of continuous spot use. no leaks or mess with it. Easy to use. Only thing, i would find some less costly replacement cleaning solutions as I find that that is often where real expense come in, like with printer ink. they get you on the comeback as we used to say in the streets.     • Effective cleaning tool that actually removes stains

After trying at home remedies, professional cleaners, other cleaning tools, and even witchcraft, nothing seemed to work on getting the stains out of our couch. We found the Shark StainStriker and it did not disappoint. The StainStriker (hearafter "SS") came with several different attachments and two small bottles of cleaner. We primarily used the carpet and upholstery head and it did wonders. The scrubbing brush comes with two sides: rubber and plastic bristles. We found the rubber to be best for our couch so as not to destroy the fabric. After a heavy application of the cleaning solution the years of dirt and stains seem to lift effortlessly out of couch as if it was nothing. I would chalk that up to the solution more than the suction itself, but the suction power was very good. As for the actual machine itself, the weight is not too bad and is similar to other machines we've had in the past. The machine is small and more compact so the power it produces is impressive. The spray effectiveness was solid, giving good range and the right amount of liquid. The one feature I wish this and all these types of machines had is a way to effectively clean the suction tube. We discovered that we could pour hot water down the nozzle and it seemed to get the dirt and hair completely out, but a detachable feature would be much better. Overall, we would highly recommend this product to anyone who needs an effective cleaning tool for tough stains. ... show more
