I used my new Bissel ProHeat 2X carpet cleaner for the first time yesterday and was thoroughly impressed. First off. It was packaged securely and was very easy to assemble. Only 2-3 easy steps if I recall (I put it together 2 weeks ago). Only took about 5 minutes to assemble. The machine itself seems very well made and sturdy. The handle is aluminum which I feel is a plus as I have had 2-3 carpet sweepers in the past in which the handle eventually broke. This will not get used as much as a sweeper but I was happy to see that the handle is aluminum and not all plastic like the conventional carpet sweepers I've used, and broken, in the past. The machine is very easy to operate with very few settings. You basically fill the tank with hot water and some cleaning solution (2 samples provided), set the cleaner to the preferred cleaning mode (I chose the "Max Clean" mode) and off you go. The machine appears to have very good suction power. I tend to "over-do" things a little and applied a little extra water/cleaning solution to some high traffic areas. The vacuum sucked up the dirty water really well and the carpet felt only a little damp. You can see the water drawing up from the nozzle. Needless to say I was a bit surprised at how dirty the water was in the dirty water tank. I had no idea that my carpet was that dirty.... and I've been told that "my house is always so clean." I live alone, I have a dog that does not shed much at all, and the carpets are in a place that most traffic goes through hardwood floors before reaching the carpet... so most dirt is "knocked off" by the time it reaches the carpet. I assumed that my carpets were pretty clean. I vacuumed the carpets really good before using this carpet cleaner. The machine kept pulling up small clods of dirt/dog hair/clothing particles/carpet fibers that must have been worked down into the carpet. I thought this was very impressive.... although I did have to stop and clean the machine a few times so that I would get the maximum performance from the vacuum... but to see what it pulled out of the carpet... it was worth the little effort it took to clean the nozzle and the brush rolls. I always thought the sweeper got all of this sort of stuff but apparently these things get ground down into the carpet over time. My carpets look brand new. All in all this was very easy to set up, operate and clean up when finished. You'll be amazed at the dirt you pull out of your carpets... I know I was... and I feel much better about how clean they are today. I'll be sure to use the machine occasionally to stay on top of the dirt and because it was fun to use. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the dirtiest I would say that my carpets were around a 5... and the dirt I got out was amazing. So... some touch-ups once in a while will be a big help and there is an Express Clean mode just for that purpose . I highly recommend this carpet scrubber.

Between years of dirt brought in by kids and messes made by pets, I thought my only real opinion would be to replace the carpet in my house with new carpet. Boy, am I glad I bought & tried the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner first. The difference between how dirty the carpet was and how it looks after cleaning it is night & day. This machine did everything it said it would do and the features did not disappoint. Good power, good suction (so good, it pulled cat & dog hair out of the carpet that multiple vacuumings had left behind) and the hot water stayed heated all the way to the bottom of the tank. The dirty water tank was a breeze to remove to dump as was refilling the clean water/cleaning solution tank as I worked. Things to remember: - don’t use this machine like a vacuum - take your time and move the machine slowly (like, just faster than a snail’s pace) as you are suctioning up the dirty water from your carpet. You’ll pull out more dirt the slower you pull & push the machine back & forth. Your carpet will also dry faster. - if you have pets, you will probably want to pour your dirty water through a strainer as you pour it down your sink, to prevent a clogged sink. The suction was strong enough to pull a lot of pet hair out of my carpets, along with the dirty water, that my vacuum cleaner left behind. - the brushes continue to rotate when you are using the hand tool, possibly causing more wear on the carpet under the spinning brushes. To counter this, I propped the front of the machine up a bit, allowing the brushes to spin without being in contact with anything. - when cleaning the machine when you’re done, have the machine on your kitchen tile floor (or outside on concrete) as some water will drain/leak onto the floor. It’s easier to mop up from there and you’ll protect your newly cleaned carpet. - be aware that using the “max” setting will release more liquid from your clean water tank than the other two settings, thus soaking your floor & getting more cleaning solution deep into your carpet. I moved the machine fast over the floor while dispensing the hot water/cleaning solution, gave it a minute or two to soak in to the fibers to loosen dirt. Then I suctioned the floor thoroughly by moving the machine super slow to suck out as much dirt & water as possible. - use the Bissell line of cleaning solutions. I used the PET PRO OXY Urine Eliminator Carpet Formula along with the Pet Boost to remove the evidence of my previous senior dog’s accidents. My carpets look & smell awesome now. - tip: I wore gallon-sized baggies on my bare feet while cleaning. I could walk on the wet carpet without transferring dirt or oils back onto the cleaned carpet. I could also feel the temperature difference between where warm water still needed to be suctioned up and the cooler areas that I had finished working on. So in conclusion, this is the best carpet cleaning machine I’ve ever owned/used and easy enough to use that regular cleaning won’t be something I’ll be dreading. Feel confident if you decide to treat yourself & your carpets to the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner.

The cleaning performance of this shampooer is excellent. Strong suction, good power, and it genuinely cleans carpet well. I cleaned an entire upstairs level with multiple rooms and hallways and only had to refill the tank twice, which was very reasonable for the amount of carpet cleaned. The machine is easy to push, not too heavy, and easy to maneuver. The cord length is excellent, setup required almost no assembly, and I appreciated that it came with two sample cleaning solutions. Another big plus is that it does not over-saturate the carpet. Everything dried within an hour or two and was never soaked. Where this machine loses a star is accessories and cleanup. The attachments did not work at all. They were completely dysfunctional. For a $260 machine, that was frustrating. Because of this, I had to purchase a separate Bissell Little Green for stairs and smaller areas. While the Little Green worked exceptionally well and was much more practical for stairs due to its portability, it was an extra expense I did not expect. Cleanup after use also takes more effort than it should. Cleaning the brushes and the clear front debris guard is straightforward but time-consuming. Pros • Excellent cleaning power and suction • Does not over-saturate carpet • Fast drying time • Easy to push and maneuver • Long cord • Minimal assembly Cons • Attachments did not work at all • Post-clean cleanup requires more effort than expected Overall, the core function of this shampooer is outstanding. With working attachments and easier cleanup, this would easily be a five-star machine. As it stands, it is a strong four-star product that cleans extremely well.

I purchased this Bissell carpet cleaner after doing a lot of research on it and it's competitors. This carpet cleaner has been very easy to use and has done a very good job at cleaning the stains, dirt, and sand out of my carpets. Bissell also make almost a dozen different cleaning solutions for these upright carpet cleaners so there are quite a few options for you depending on your situation: pet stains, antibacterial, deep cleaning, cleaning+Febreeze, etc. It has also been surprisingly good at pulling most of the water and solution back out of the carpets so as not to damage the carpet backing or the subfloors underneath. From my experiences using this unit, the 1 gallon clean water tank seems to be enough to clean 100 to 125 square feet on the Deep Cleaning mode. The hose attachment is also very useful, but it seems to be a little short and stiff to comfortably do a lot of stairs, but it may begin to stretch easier after it has been broken in and used more. I have personally really enjoyed using this unit and have heard similar things from friends that I have let borrow this unit. The main cons that I have run into with this unit have been with the hose length, the suction head, and cleaning the machine. - First, as I mentioned above, the included hose attachment seems to be a little short and would be more comfortable to use if it were maybe 2 or 3 feet longer. - Second, the suction head on the front of the unit does seem to occasionally build up clogs of hair and carpet fibers depending on the carpet type that you have. After removing the suction head from the machine, it is fairly easily to clean out the clogs either by running water through the suction head or by using the included tool in the accessory pouch, but it is a concern I thought I should mention. - Third, it is hard to clean the hair and dirt out of around the scrub brushes. Once you finish cleaning your carpets, it is a good idea to clean the machine to flush out extra chemical and to be able to store the unit, but this is not a trivial endeavor with this unit. The best option I have found so far has been to essentially drown the scrub brushes in water while they are spinning to clean out all of the hair and dirt. I've found the best way to do this is to detach to suction head and to place the unit in a bathtub with at most about 1 inches of water to flush out any hair or dirt left in and around the scrub brushes. Overall, I really do like this carpet cleaning and have had very good results with it. I even know of a family that purchased their own unit after borrowing my and seeing how well it worked at removing the pet stains in their house. I have been very pleased with my purchase and I highly recommend it!

Let's begin with dislikes and likes. Keep in mind I am a person who values functionality and purpose over bells and whistles. Does the product do what I need it to do: CONS: 1. This machine is a bit noisier than other carpet cleaners and I've used several but it's just a minor dislike. 2. The Clean tank is only 1 gallon so you will fill this tank more often on your cleaning tasks. I started on a 15 X 18 throw rug with the "Deep Clean" setting. The fill tank needed two total fills to do the job. 3. The Dirty tank seems larger but only fills to 1/3 capacity before the orange float in the tank cuts off the suction. Funny story - I thought, "Great. 15 minutes into the job and the machine breaks." Not to panic, folks. It's the float switch in the dirty tank that "kills" the machine at 1/3 full which is about 5/6ths of the fill tank capacity. 4. Some assembly is required for the handle. A few parts and a screw needing a Philips head screwdriver. Very straight forward though. Absolutely, this machine could definitely use a bigger clean and dirty tank but it's not a deal breaker. PROS: 1. The Fill tank is very easy to use. It removes easily, can be filled easily, and does not leak! That's a huge plus. So many other models (like the Hoover) leak a LOT. Not to trash my old Hoover - those machines really do a great job of cleaning but it's a hassle when the tanks dribble all the way to the sink and back. 2. The dirty tank is also really easy to use. It also does not leak. There is a rubber tabbed empty port for quick empty which is nice, but I prefer to fully clean each use. For that, you quick empty then turn the tank over. You unscrew the one big plastic ring on the bottom (goes on and off easily and tightens with a little bit of hand turning.) You pull the float unit carefully out of the tank holding the float switch towards your hand or it sticks at the top. You rotate the float out of the tank and then you can easily clean both the tank and the float unit. Cleans easily - I do it every time to get the pet hair out as there is always a little. You return the float unit into the tank in reverse order, and it slips right in. Hand tighten the plastic ring that screws on and your ready to go - just make sure the rubber tab is seated. 3. Yes, the tanks are smaller, but they are really easy to use and it makes the unit light and easy to maneuver. 4. The machine glides easily and mostly without effort over your carpet surface. You do have to lift the unit onto the carpet or rug because it won't just roll onto a rug like a vacuum cleaner would. While on the rug you can turn easily, keep straight (Some carpet cleaners always 'yaw' one way or the other. This unit does not.) and clean edges easily. Just keep the wheels on the rug. 5. Does it clean? WOW! It really does a great job. This is where this machine really shines and why I like it despite some minor detractions. The cord is a decent length for a carpet machine as well. I was able to do my entire throw rug without moving the cord. The carpet is also much dryer from the GREAT suction even after several passes. 6. Another big plus you don't get with other machines are the attachments for stairs and upholstery. The stair cleaner hose is fairly long, fits easily into the machine (Trust me, some machines are a nightmare to attach and use.) and cleans well. On some machines this is all extra money to purchase or find. In this machine's box it all comes standard. Overall: 4 stars for the few annoyances but this machine is 5 star ALL THE WAY if you want a machine that really works well, comes with everything you need, is easy to use, lightweight and stores away easily. If you are reading, Bissel, make a larger version of this machine with bigger tanks and capacity.

My 75lb newly adopted Pittie started our morning with a barforama, all over the darn bedroom and house. This baby (Bissell Proheat 2X Revolution) literally just arrived from Amazon the day before, and it was all set up, bc it was so simple. I bought it bc I've been asking my husband to rent the commercial carpet cleaner from Home Depot for 3 months already, and it was driving me nuts. I've never had so much joy in cleaning. Once I shampoed the disgusting vomit, I had some clean circles, and proceeded to clean the rest of the carpet. The dirty water reservoir was so gross, the suction on this baby is awesome. Everytime I dumped the dirty water reservoir, the movie clip from Home Alone popped into my head, & I had to say, "You filthy animal!" So my only "complaint" would be that I have thick shag carpet, so I MacGyvered it by adding a 5lb weight to the top of the vacuum where it meets the floor to get the vacuum closer to create more suction, and it was perfect. The vacuum is so light, I honestly would prefer it more heavy for this purpose. The attachment works great on the stairs, and I've found that you can go over super saturated areas and suck up even more water because you can hold it down hard. The price was on sale $169.99 from $200, which BTW, is a great deal, considering the green machine or commercial cleaners are more than double, and have the CONVENIENCE of using it whenever you want, and it will actually fit in a closet in the house, as opposed to getting it its own shed or taking up all the garage space, OR WAITING around for ur S/O to rent from Home Depot & when he does, he smashes the SUV back windshield bc he didn't think to secure the monstrosity while driving. As for the complainers about the cleaning the vacuum itself after use, I liken it to those special people who go on a keto diet, and want a gluten free no carb option for Mac n Cheese, and give the option a 1 star because it does taste good, but the texture is weird. As I was shampooing, my backseat shampooer husband makes a comment to me, "Hey, this is pretty good huh?? I don't think we need to rent that cleaner from Home Depot anymore?! Huh, what do you think?" "Yeah, hunny, that's a great idea!" I replied sarcasticly without any detection. My house smells so clean...Needless to say, I LOVE IT!!

As a dog owner, I am no stranger to accidents and messes. When my dog made a mess near my photography lighting setup, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to test and review the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner while getting great lighting for a video. I chose this carpet cleaner after comparing it to other options on the market, ultimately swayed by its high ratings and price. Upon unboxing and assembling the carpet cleaner, I was pleased to find that it felt well-built and sturdy. The overall construction of the product gives off a sense of quality and reliability. Assembly of the carpet cleaner took less than 10 minutes and was easy to do. Using the cleaner was a breeze, thanks to its ergonomic design and easily accessible water tanks. I particularly appreciated the obvious fill lines for the water and cleaning solution, which made it easy to ensure the correct ratio. One feature that sets the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution apart from other carpet cleaners is its drying capabilities. Although it doesn't heat the carpet, it leaves it only slightly damp after cleaning, allowing it to dry within a few hours. This is a considerable improvement over my previous carpet cleaner, which left the carpet wet for an entire day leading to smells and wet socks. Another bonus is using the supplemental antibacterial cleaning solution, which offers an extra level of cleanliness that regular carpet cleaner solutions often lack, and it leaves the carpets smelling great too. The carpet cleaner is not without its minor drawbacks. For example, the on/off button is located in an awkward position, making it somewhat difficult to use. I find myself having to relearn where the button is every time I use the product. The carpet cleaner also produces a loud, high-pitched noise during operation, which can be bothersome but is to be expected. The cleaning solution tank also goes empty pretty quickly if you aren't watching how much cleaning solution you are using, even in small areas. Despite these minor issues, I am extremely satisfied with the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner. Its performance, ease of use, and drying capabilities make it a valuable addition to any home with pets. The cleaner also comes with a variety of accessories, adding versatility even if they aren't used regularly. I highly recommend the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner to fellow pet owners. Its quality construction, effective cleaning, and user-friendly design make it a worthwhile investment for keeping your home clean and fresh, even with the occasional pet-related mess. I had one of the earlier Bissels for a number of years. It was a work horse and it did a good job, but the bladder for clean water floating in the tank of dirty water was disgusting and, for a dog owner, it was impossible to clean properly. This new model (I've no idea how many have come between), is much smarter, easier to use, and more effective. And the cleaning solutions are better, too. Having the clean tank sit atop the dirty water tank is easier, neater, and better balanced to handle. Being able to clean out the dirty water tank completely is a major step forward. And being able to lift off the clear cover over the rollers is a plus. But....you still can't lift out or easily move the rollers to untangle trapped dog hair, and the cover still can't be opened, though with a bit of effort the funky strip of plastic provided to fish out clumps of hair and fiber works okay. I believe both these issues are addressed on the Pet Pro (?--the top of the line pet model), but when I was looking, those two improvements were going to cost me over $100 more. I still haven't decided whether going for this model was the best idea because it seems to me, after so many years for working on the thing, Bissel shouldn't charge that much more for something they should have figured out years ago. The hose attachment process was a huge improvement, but the "pet" attachment, which had hard rubber cones I suppose were supposed to loosen up the dog hair, was clunky to handle and didn't do a thing on my dense carpets. The standard brush was....a standard brush. It got the job done, but is essentially unchanged from the one that came with the first Bissel I bought almost twenty (?!!!) years ago. All that said, if you have carpets, this is a truly excellent balance between paying hundreds and hundreds more for one of the pro machines, or saving a hundred bucks and buying another brand that won't last as long or work half as well. In short, It's a good machine, a good value, and I'd buy it again, without hesitation. Though if it lasts as long as my old Bissel, I probably won't have to. By that time, I'll either be rich enough to have full time maids, or dead of old age (and I know which option is more likely!)
