We have three dogs, two that shed, and an older house, so I wanted something I could pull out on deep-cleaning days to keep our area rugs from making the house smell like dog. We’ve used this on everything from puppy accident stains to regular cleaning, and it does a great job of making our rugs look and smell fresh again. We have an 8x10 rug by our back door that gets a ton of traffic, and usually two passes has it looking good again. I vacuum first to pick up most of the dog hair, but the suction is great and the cleaner does collect whatever hair is left behind. It’s very easy to fill, empty and clean, and I usually only have to dump the dirty water tank once while cleaning an entire 8x10 rug. It’s also lightweight, easy to maneuver, has a good cord length and doesn’t take up a ton of space to store. I’ve had another BISSELL carpet cleaner in the past that gave us problems, so I was a little hesitant about buying another one, but this one has held up great. We’ve even loaned it to friends to clean the carpets in their new house and they had great results with it too. It isn’t the quietest vacuum I’ve ever used but it’s not unbearable. It is definitely durable as most vacuums only make it a couple months before I give up on them. This one has lasted almost a year. I would absolutely buy it again. 5/5 stars. ... show more

I highly highly recommend this product. I have 3 children, one of which is 16 months old and spills her snacks everywhere, not to mention all the leaky cups that contain milk. We usually rent a carpet cleaner from our local store every couple months and it cost around $100 after everything is all said and done, to only use it for 24 hours. THIS ONE specifically also has a wand to do furniture as well. Which is what sold me, not to mention the price. I paid $140 to be able to clean my carpets whenever I want. The clean water tank is small, so you do have to fill it a few times to get 1 room done. As well as dirty water, a couple empties. But its honestly not that big of a deal. It's very easy to clean when you're done using it also. The spray and suction are strong, and its relatively quiet compared to others I've used. It's also small and easy to store, which does make you have to do more passes to get the floors done. It also has little tips printed right on the machine to help you maintain the best outcome. For instance it says on the dirty tank "if motor sound changes or suction gets weak, empty dirty tank before cleaning further". Which i found super helpful and that did in fact happen to me, and as someone who doesn't FULLY read the user guide, it was nice to have that staring right at me when it happened lol. I will say, get some pre-carpet clean stain spray, let it soak, and take a scrub brush to it for a couple seconds to get the best results (if you have bad stains or food or anything stuck in the carpet. ... show more

I love this machine. It is light weight and narrow enough to get into small spaces. The only issues are: 1. The tabs to pull up and remove the dirty water sticks. I felt like I was going to break something. However, I think it is getting slightly loosed up. It is only on one side. 2. Somehow the cord got stripped down to the wire, right about where my hand held the cord. I have no idea how it happened since there was nothing sharp in the room to cause it. We put electrical tape around it, and it works fine. 3. The cord is soft or more flexible which is a huge help, but the cord could be longer. It wouldn't reach across the family room. With the exception of these few issues, the machine works wonderfully, and the smell from the sample was wonderful. This is the third version of a BISSELL TurboClean style upright carpet cleaner I've owned. This one is much lighter than my older two - which I appreciate. It may be smaller and lighter, but it's mighty! It cleans incredibly well and sucks the water out of my carpets better than my previous heavier models. The downside to this model is you have to dump the tank a lot more. If you look at the size of the collection tank, you'd think it would hold a lot, but it doesn't. I'm willing to deal with that because it does such a great job - and I have cream colored carpet and two dogs that are in and out of the house frequently. If you've had the older models, you know that they were difficult to thoroughly clean before putting them away. This model addressed all those issues and is a breeze to go through and clean before storing. That's a big win in my book! So far, I'm very pleased with this purchase and recommend it - especially if you have limited space to store your carpet cleaner. ... show more

Works well! Easy to use, disassemble and clean. Made minority white rug look clean again and did a great job when. My puppy had gastrointestinal issues. Rugs were perfect after cleaning. Wish I would have brought it sooner!

    • READ THIS IF YOU HAVE A SEPTIC TANK!!!

Before getting into my review, I will warn you that if you have a septic tank and you use this on carpet, you MUST NOT drain the waste container into the sink. The vacuum/brush picks up a LOT of carpet fibers and over time that will absolutely plug the leaching field of your septic system with poylester fibers that will NEVER breakdown. I strain the waste through a kitchen sieve which I use just for this purpose. There....I just saved you a gazillion $$$. Really. The cleaner works great. Though not intended to be a whole house carpet cleaner - if for no other reason but because the cleaning mix and waste reservoirs are small for portability - it is perfect for pet accidents and such. Also decent for somewhat larger areas. Only nit I have is that the cleaning fluid mix is based on ounces per gallons of water in the cleaner tank, but nowhere could I find how many gallons (maybe 1/2?) are in the canister. Otherwise, gets the job done. Seems well constructed, good portability, easy to operate and after about 20 uses, I am pleased we bought it. For set stains, mix a tank with hot water (not boiling, tap temperature hot). It really helps. Bottom line, definite thumbs up for us and recommended! A must have if your dog can't figure out how to tell you he has to go potty or doesn't feel like going out because it is raining, or too cold, or too hot (if you have a yorkie, you know what I'm talking about ). ... show more

I misread what ALL this shampooer does unfortunately. I will start off with the pros: it is light weight and extremely easy to assemble and comes with attachments as well for smaller spaces. It also came with some sample cleaners too. It lifts dirt and pet odors easily and I love that. You can also use it on furniture which is a big plus. The cons: The water reservoirs are very small. Expect to empty the dirty water one every 3-5 minutes, and refill the clean water reservoir about the same time as well. One of the biggest reasons I bought this was to help remove the dog hair. I misread the listing and didn’t realize it’s specifically for heavy dirt and pet odors, not necessarily hair. While I will say it does a good job with odors, it’s not good for hair. It does lift the hair out of the carpet very easily in chunks, but you do have to pick up those chunks of hair. It’s nice that it lifts the hair out of the carpet, not so much having to go and pick up chunks of hair it spits out 😅. I live in a rental and the carpet is not an appealing color and didn’t appear to have been cleaned when we moved in. After my dog has had a couple accidents and the carpet just looking dirty in general I decided I just needed a shampooer. I won’t say there was a *major* difference in the color but it did pick up a significant amount of dirt and did look slightly lighter after. So I’m thinking the carpet is just ugly in general. The after pictures are still wet but you can see the difference. I will mention that if you’re doing a small room, expect to have to empty and refill a minimum of 3 times. I’ll also drop a picture of all the dog hair it lifted and spat out. Just happy the dog hair is coming out. I’ve only done 1/3 of my apartment currently as I make this review and I’ve emptied and refilled it atleast 10 times now. You get your cardio in for sure. ... show more
