  • I love this carpet cleaner. BUY IT!!!
I absolutely love the ease of use with this carpet cleaner and how well it cleans. For years I'd have my bedrooms, stairs and landings at home and vacation rental properties professionally cleaned which would cost me at least $125 each clean and even more for stainguard and upholstery when needed so I felt it only made sense to try to clean them myself with this lighter weight vacuum cleaner like carpet cleaner and I'm so very glad I did. Pro's: - Saving tons if $$$ a year on carpet cleans. - Easy to fill hot water tank and dump dirty water tank. I didn't notice any spillage at all. - you can clean a good amount of space before having to add more water/solution to the clean water tank and before needing to empty the dirty water tank. No constant stopping to do this like I did in the past with a different carpet cleaner. - Lightweight to pick up if necessary. I easily load and unload it into the back seat floor of my Chevy Volt standing upright with the front seat slid forward. I'm a 118lb woman. - the gray plastic tool that comes with it easily slides into the sectioning opening and behind the rollers to clean dust and carpet fibers out which is necessary to do after each clean to keep it working properly. - the attachments for stairs/upholstery work great. I've only used them for stairs and they did awesome. I'll add another review once I use it for a sofa, chair and ottoman that needs cleaning. - I have a teen daughter who chooses never to wipe/blot any spills ever so our carpets up the stairs, landing and into her room were horrible after us being home 24hrs the last year and a half since the beginning of covid. I attached AFTER photos of her room and BEFORE/AFTER photos of the small landing. This cleaner is awesome. I did use the regular Bissell cleaner and mixed with Resolve steam cleaner in the tank. I don't have pets at home but did use the pet cleaner at the vacation home due to customers sometimes bringing their pets and it works great. - the CleanShot sprayer helps to saturate any spots and I use the brushes on each side of the machine to work in the formula to the spot before allowing the rotating brushes to clean the entire area and that seems to work well. I usually spray resolve spot cleaner or Shout on spots before I begin my cleans. This time there were a few spots that didn't come out until after I used the clean shot. And there are a few other spots that lightened after clean shot, but may never come out. I'm going to try baking soda and vinegar for those. Cons: - I had make a few passes to get some areas clean but to be fair it has been at least a year and a half since carpets were cleaned so expect to go over areas at least 4 times on a Deep Clean setting for the best clean for dirtier carpets. Still takes little time to complete. If you clean your carpets regularly this won't be necessary. - I'd suggest/request that Bissell place rubber where you hold the handle. Due to the back and forth of pushing the unit. My hand glides a bit on the hard plastic handle and I hand blisters/become sore from the friction. Upon first use I wrapped a cleaning cloth around the plastic handle to have some cushion to protect my hand. - If the unit is powered ON for a bit it can get very hot and makes a different sound seemingly when that happens so I check to be sure the clean water/solution tank isn't empty and will turn off the unit for about 10 min to let it cool down then continue once cool. Overall I'm very excited about this carpet cleaner and have recommended it to a few people already. Thanks for this product Bissell and thanks to everyone who posted their reviews to help me with my decision in purchasing a great carpet cleaner!! I bought a different cleaner a few years ago that was horrible. I returned it. BUY THIS!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. ... show more

  • Better then I thought it would be!
Forget the notion that you need to have pets to buy the Revolution Pet Pro, its incredible in more ways then I thought it would be. Whoever designed the molding process for the parts is an engineering genius. It was very simple to put together (and take apart). There is a quick set of instructions on a card (if you deplore reading instructions) and thankfully for people like me, a complete instructional brochure on how to take it apart, change the brushes, replace a belt, etc. Didn't have to *download* a PDF... thank you Bissell. This machine completely comes apart for thorough cleaning, they even give you this tool that hooks the last of the carpet fibers from the front suction area. You can also take the tank apart and clean that thoroughly. It all goes back together easily and tells you with a *click* sound you seated the part correctly. How does it clean though, especially since I don't have pets... My carpet is off white natural color, shorter pile and shows everything. It has never been professionally cleaned, only spot cleaned here and there for the past 16 years. Even though we don't have pets, we have *feet* and there were traffic areas, and spots that seemed to be permanent. The whole process of filling the tank and removing the dirty water tank is easy and once you do it several times, its a no-brainer. I used hot tap water and little bit of Folex since I don't care for that artificial smell of chemicals in my house. I cleaned a full living room, hallway, and four bedrooms. Ran flawlessly and my carpets look brand new, seriously...a very good job. I doubt hiring someone would have produced better results. It was more then satisfying to dump that dirty water from the tank, omg gross stuff. It did take half the day, but that was several large rooms, and I went over them a couple of times, so I ran this machine for hours without a hiccup. I also used the upholstery brush which is very easy to attach, again superb results in a very tight area. I really suggest you take a few minutes and read the brochure, you can see how to clean the tank and the float, how to take it apart and *own* this machine. Also, Bissell has a full range of replacement parts, which I appreciate to maintain the machine. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. ... show more

  • Very User Friendly
I bought the product for myself. No one has paid for this review. Long review as the product was expensive, I have used other carpet cleaners in the past and shopvax(wet/dry). This is my experience with only this product as I did not have another carpet cleaner brand to make a comparison of any sought. But, I am happy and I think you will be too! Getting past the sticker price I do think it is worth it. It is geared for a right handed person with the location of the pedals and spot cleaner. My only negative is that I do not see the point of the spot cleaner. The fluid that comes out came from the main clean water tank. Plus you have all the additional tools for really tough stains. Second thing I did not see the point of having the "easy" pour upside down bottle thingy. I poured the cleaner in the same hole I poured the hot water. But, this is beside the point because these are more observations than anything negative. Maybe someone with a really dirty carpet or handshaking issues, can demonstrate the benefit of the functions I have mentioned. I always like the challenge to see if I can use something without reading the instructions. Once I have had a fiddle I will then read the instructions (Safety First!! water and electricity is a powerful combination for death in the unlikely event of a malfunction). Overall, my favorite part is that it is easy to clean afterwards. All the pieces come apart and clip together with ease. There are additional parts like the hose and different tools which all came with a bag you hang on the back of the vacuum. So nothing will get lost during storage. This is a plus for me as I am always putting things in a safe place and can never remember the safe place when I need it. Background: I have two dogs. I live in a one bedroom apartment with carpet in only in the bedroom (15x15"). The carpet is brand new when I moved in and I have lived here for 13 months. I added before and after pictures. The white spots are left over bicarbonate of soda and dawn dish soap which I used to draw up the water and urine when I cleaned the carpet by hand at the time, as I did not have a carpet cleaner. I could still smell a hint of urine which had me paranoid so I purchased the carpet cleaner. The vacuum has a bit of weight to the whole thing when filled with water. But, it is very stable overall. I bought the giant bottle of cleaner, but it already came with two 8oz cleaning solutions one regular pet and one antibacterial. You are only meant to use 2.5 oz of fluid per gallon. I filled the tank 3.5 times. So unless you need to clean more regular than once or twice a year or for the odd accident I do not see myself running through a ton of cleaner. The cleaner providers is a light scent which I like. Nothing worse than an overpowering scent that smells like chemical and synthetic scent. I am waiting for the carpet to dry so I can go in and vacuum the direction of the carpet as it looks darker than it is at the moment. Hopefully, I can add more pictures to this review once it has dried. ... show more

  • Amazon Customer Service = 5 Stars, The Carpet Cleaner itself = 2 Stars
I purchased the BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Max Clean Pet Pro Full-Size Carpet Cleaner, 1986 last week and used it yesterday for the first time. It came well-packaged and practically assembled except for the handle and a few parts. I hesitated purchasing a carpet cleaner on Amazon because the reviews on the majority of carpet cleaners are atrocious. I had to bite the bullet, however, because our well-trained McNab hasn’t been able to control her bladder due to her meds. She’s been suffering from tick-related illness (anaplasmosis) and been really sick for almost 2 months now. Anyhow, I used this Bissell Carpet Cleaner yesterday. My first cleaning went smoothly except for the second Clean Water Tank Refill. This tank would no longer fit/sit on the grooves, hence I’m unable to use the cleaning solution. I have tried many many times but was unsuccessful to securely fit the Clean Water Tank. For some reason, the plastic tank container expanded (became bloated) and would no longer sit on the receptacle. Our tap hot water is about 110ºF. The Clean Water Tank has a 160ºF max temp. I decided to leave it alone overnight. This morning I tried to install the Clean Water Tank (empty) and yet it gave me the same problem. It just would not fit. I decided to contact Amazon (online chat support is so much easier and often painless). I was advised to return the entire unit for a replacement or refund which I didn’t want to do because I had already discarded the packaging inserts. Also, there’s nothing wrong with the suction function. The problem is the Clean Water Tank. It’s defective. I noticed that Amazon sells the Clean Water Tank, unfortunately, it’s not in stock. I hope Bissell can remedy this problem. I have no problem returning the Clean Water Tank for a new replacement that actually fits. Amazon customer service definitely deserves 5-star but the BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Max Clean Pet Pro Full-Size Carpet Cleaner, 1986 only deserves 2 Stars. I will change my rating appropriately as soon as I hear from Bissell. UPDATE: Aug 27, 2020 I just upgraded my rating from 2 stars to 4-1/2 stars. Bissell has reached out to me and offered to send me a new Clean Water Tank. Bissell has left a message to contact the company in response to my Amazon's review. I had originally called Bissell but due to COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to hand up because I was on hold for more than 45 minutes. I tried Bissell's online chat support. I was able to get someone live. After sending them a photo as of the defective Clean Water Tank. I was informed that she will send me a Clean Water Tank replacement free of charge. I received the new Clean Water Tank last week. It's a different color but seems to fit and work without any problems. Amazon and Bissell are to be commended for having such stellar customer service. I refuse to criticize products just because they were made in China. This is such a ridiculous excuse to criticize products. All the Apple products I have owned (iPhone/s, iPads, AppleTVs, Apple Watches, HomePods, MacBooks, iMacs, LG, Samsung & Sharp TVs) have all been made in China. I have also purchased power tools, hand tools and large & small appliances that were made in China that are reliable. I have also purchased many products that were made in USA that lack quality control. Not all products made in USA are reliable nor do all products made in China are terrible so please quit using "made in China" as an excuse. This Bissell was made in China. Despite of the defective Clean Water Tank, this portable carpet cleaner is actually a reliable, effective carpet cleaner. I highly recommend this carpet cleaner. I do recommend that you empty the unused solution inside the Clean Water Tank and always empty the dirty water tank after each use. Also remove all the debris (pet hair, carpet strands, etc) stucked around the rotating bristle. ... show more

  • The best thing I've ever bought
I love this carpet cleaner more than I love my husband. As someone who has chronic pain, a cat with stomach issues, and a dog who loves to eat grass and throw it up on my carpet, spending a lot of time on my hands and knees scrubbing carpet stains is not ideal. While I love my void (pictured with his brother, for fun) very much, he has a VERY sensitive stomach and if he manages to eat anything but his normal food, he gets diarrhea. It's gross and difficult to clean by hand. I bought this cleaner after much review reading and comparisons. I adore it. It's made my life so much easier. I've had it for about six months now and I've used it many times, both for full house cleaning when I first got it, and a bunch of spot cleans. Cons: - I wish it had a built in water heater because if I don't use the full tank of water/cleaning solution in one shot, I have to waste the remainder of it. It'd be nice if it could reheat it the next day. - I would like a longer cord. It's not unreasonably short but if it's plugged in on one end of our living room, it doesn't quite reach the opposite side. - I wish the dirty water tank held more. It holds less than the clean water tank which is annoying when you have to stop mid-tank to empty it. It would be more convenient if it held the same amount as the clean tank. Then you could empty and refill at the same time. - It's expensive. I do think it's worth the price, but that said, I was only able to buy it because we had unexpected extra money at the time. Pros! - IT CLEANS, MY GOD. It cleans very well. Even the grossest stains are no match. I use the antibacterial version of their cleaning solution for obvious reasons. I couldn't ask for a better result tbh. I've only had one or two stains that I couldn't get out (one of which was black eyeshadow that had been ground into the carpet for over a year - I didn't expect that to come out). Although I really don't care about that because they weren't dirty stains. Ultimately, I care about my carpets being clean and smelling good and this does the trick. I was literally giddy the first time I used it. Small aside - the antibacterial cleaner does stink while it's wet but no smell once dry. - THE AMOUNT OF PET HAIR IT ROLLS UP. We have two cats and a dog. Even when I've just vaccumed, when I use this, the rubber on the bottom of the cleaner grabs and rolls up giant balls of fur. I am unsure how my pets are not bald. - It's very easy to use. It is heavy, but easy to maneuver. It's easy to figure out, to assemble, and to clean when you're done. - The attachments are great. Sometimes when the cat has accidents, it'll get on their fuzzy cat tree. Nightmare. The hose and upholstery tool make it a breeze to clean furniture and cat trees. It's a really nice long hose too. I haven't used it on stairs, but I imagine it'd be perfect for that. - After the carpet dries, it's soft and there's no soapy residue that you can feel. - I like that there's different settings. There's a quick clean option that dries much faster, or the deep clean and max clean options that deep clean. While they do take longer to dry, none of them take an unreasonable amount of time to dry. I think with the deep clean setting, it takes about 8 hours to dry. - It does a great job of sucking the water back up. Our home is 100 years old and our floors are way less than even. Even with the slight dips, it keeps plenty of suction to suck the dirty water back up. I like that you can see the dirty water being sucked up, it makes it easier to tell when you're done with a spot. - It's fabulous for area rugs! It used to be that if I wanted to clean an area rug I'd have to hang it outside and pressure wash it with our hose. I've yet to have any problems with it. I would recommend it to anyone who has pets or kids or happens to be clumsy and spill stuff often. It's so much easier than trying to clean carpet by hand and much more cost effective than hiring professionals if you have spills with any frequency. ... show more

  • First Use Review - Great Job!
I bought this to replace an old Hoover cleaner that had started to leak. The positive reviews sold me. Here are my thoughts after the first use. 1. Easy to assemble 2. Long cord. In fact so long at first it was hard to manage until I looped it around the 'hook' on the handle, then all good. 3. So easy to fill. Pop out the tank, fill with hot water from the tap and pop back in. [much easier than my Hoover that had a tank for water and a tank for cleaner] 4. At first couldn't find the on/off switch as was expecting it on the handle. Yes I did read the booklet but was more interested in the mix of solutions. 5. And read the manual as it does cover different levels of cleaning and number of passes to wet and suction. 6. I have two West Highland White [pig] terriers that dig and roll and bring in dirt and mud even if it is dry as a bone. So as I said, I did the max clean swipes. I could see the water being sucked up. 7. I used the Pet Stain and Odor Antibacterial solution trial size so must buy more now. 8. The carpet looks much much cleaner. I had realistic expectations as the carpet is older and as I mentioned about the pig-dogs......do not go into this experience thinking your stained rug is going to look brand new as that is a fantasy. But stains lifted so the carpet had a clean, uniform appearance. 9. The top tank is for the clean solution. At first I had to get used to the balance with a gallon of water on the top but that was OK as the whole unit is very light weight compared to my heavy Hoover. Easy to manage. 10. When finished I rolled it onto a pet pee pad and then turned it off as my old one used to leak after being turned off. This one did too so don't turn it off without something under it. To me, this was normal as I dealt with it for years but maybe this is not supposed to happen. But just a warning as it did. 11. Removing and emptying the dirty tank was so easy. It pulls out with a little handle to manage it. It has an attached flap that you pull up and then you pour out the dirty water. Popping it back in was a bit more of a challenge but after I released the handle to bend down it easily slid in. Not sure if I was at the wrong angle or if that is a requirement. Need to review the manual again. Of note is that my old one had a screw off cap to empty the tank and it occasionally fell into the water I was pouring out [gross....]. I repeat this one has an attached flap so no worries!! All in all a good experience for my first use. Should I have any future problems with the next use I will report back but I would recommend. ... show more

  • Great Purchase - well worth the price!
Hands down, this is the absolute BEST purchase I have made this year (alright, tied for best with my Roomba)!! I had some gift cards from Christmas that I used to get the Bissel ProHeat 2x because it was pricey. I have been researching and wanting to get something like this for a while, but never pulled the trigger until a few weeks ago. For the last 3 years, I have been using a small, upholstery cleaner (Rug Doctor) to clean my off-white, large (8×10, 14x14, 3x20), area rugs. Needless to say, every day traffic, 2 dogs and living in the red-clay south has taken their toll on my rugs. It usually takes me an entire afternoon (4-6 hours) to "clean" all 3. It works alright but I'm cranky, the husband is cranky, my arms and knees are sore, the dogs hate the cleaner.....it's not a process I can do as often as I would like or as often as my rugs need it. Enter, the Bissel ProHeat 2x. Oh my gosh! It took me all of 90 min to put together, read the directions, get used to how the steamer works and actually clean 2 of my large rugs!<angel's singing hallelujah chorous> I love how you can take apart and clean each of the different parts - because I'm a little crazy and clean my cleaning equipment regularly. The water stays hot/warm which is a HUGE plus! And the cleaning head does a fabulous job of getting down deep to clean the rug and remove dirty water. It is easy to empty and fill the tanks (they are a little small, but the cleaner is light and I will gladly deal with a few more trips to the sink). I have not used the power shot cleaner nor have I done express clean. These were two bonuses that I havent needed to use yet, so I cant comment on those... I have used the upholstery attachment. That would be my only "negative" on the machine. It worked. BUT.....I would have loved for there to be a roller, or like my Rug Doctor upholstery cleaner, moveable/scrubbing bristles instead of the stationary, arm-powered cleaning. It got the job done, but it took forever, my arms were sore and the connector joint to the suction tube seemed flimsy and at risk for snapping. Set up was a breeze and there was still good suction. All-in-all, while the upholstery attachment could be improved, I purchased the carpet cleaner for my carpets - it absolutely exceeds my expectations for a cleaner!! I would purchase again, without gift cards, if needed! :) ... show more

  • Literally the Best Carpet Cleaner
So first the cleaning ability, the Bissell Proheat 2x Revolution uses a 2 brush design which is so effective that pretty much every carpet cleaner manufacturer is moving to this design. With out Georgia red clay tests it did better than all the others, deep cleaning in remarkably few passes. In our multi stain torture test it cleaned the stains almost completely in one tank. I suppose I could have also cleaned the faint remnants if I had used the hand tool, but in any case its performance was significantly above average. But the true "revolution" of this new generation of carpet cleaners is their ease of use. Its moves just like a vacuum cleaner, which is a huge step up from the super bulky and super expensive professional carpet cleaners. It has a low profile so you can clean under furniture or other obstacles. It really changes whole concept of carpet cleaning from a huge disrupting job to something you can do on the fly as needed. In fact they seem to have anticipated this with spray adjustment switch called express cleaning mode for light jobs like rugs or touch ups. They claim that in this mode carpet dries in about an hour. One of neat innovations is something they call clean shot which is a foot pedal that shoots cleaning solution on to particularly tough stains, it turn on when you hit the switch and turns off when you hit it again. I found this to be a little difficult to hit the right spot, and potentially messy, but there is no doubting that it makes it much more effective on tough stains. It comes with 2 different hand tools, including a 2-1 pet tool which can dry vacuum pet hair which is collected in a small container, then you can switch it to wet mode for cleaning. It also comes with the same tool sold with Bissell’s spot cleaners, which we have use for upholstery and spot cleaning with our Bissell Spotclean Pro and its solidly built and works very good. But one of the best things about its attachment set is that the hose is very easy to attach, I know that sounds simple but after testing a lot of upright carpet cleaners it’s a lot more rare than you might think. The 8 foot hose seems sturdy and is long enough for small staircases but larger ones will require moving the cleaning unit to the top of the stairs to finish the job. Cleanup was noticeably easy, the dirty water tank has a interesting outlet which causes the liquid to pour out in a controlled stream. It also has a removable plate on the brush roll housing for easy access to the brushes. It also comes with a significant 5 year warranty. And the main negative issues I had was with filling the clean water tank, because it is so tall you really need to use a large kitchen sink. Also the Power cord at 25 ft is slightly below average length I would a preferred an extra 5 ft or so. I know I have been gushing about this carpet cleaner, but I am pretty excited about how much it changes the carpet cleaning market if for no other reason than you can finally get a carpet cleaner which cleans as good or better than the rentals which maneuvers like a vacuum. ... show more
