I absolutely love the ease of use with this carpet cleaner and how well it cleans. For years I'd have my bedrooms, stairs and landings at home and vacation rental properties professionally cleaned which would cost me at least $125 each clean and even more for stainguard and upholstery when needed so I felt it only made sense to try to clean them myself with this lighter weight vacuum cleaner like carpet cleaner and I'm so very glad I did. Pro's: - Saving tons if $$$ a year on carpet cleans. - Easy to fill hot water tank and dump dirty water tank. I didn't notice any spillage at all. - you can clean a good amount of space before having to add more water/solution to the clean water tank and before needing to empty the dirty water tank. No constant stopping to do this like I did in the past with a different carpet cleaner. - Lightweight to pick up if necessary. I easily load and unload it into the back seat floor of my Chevy Volt standing upright with the front seat slid forward. I'm a 118lb woman. - the gray plastic tool that comes with it easily slides into the sectioning opening and behind the rollers to clean dust and carpet fibers out which is necessary to do after each clean to keep it working properly. - the attachments for stairs/upholstery work great. I've only used them for stairs and they did awesome. I'll add another review once I use it for a sofa, chair and ottoman that needs cleaning. - I have a teen daughter who chooses never to wipe/blot any spills ever so our carpets up the stairs, landing and into her room were horrible after us being home 24hrs the last year and a half since the beginning of covid. I attached AFTER photos of her room and BEFORE/AFTER photos of the small landing. This cleaner is awesome. I did use the regular Bissell cleaner and mixed with Resolve steam cleaner in the tank. I don't have pets at home but did use the pet cleaner at the vacation home due to customers sometimes bringing their pets and it works great. - the CleanShot sprayer helps to saturate any spots and I use the brushes on each side of the machine to work in the formula to the spot before allowing the rotating brushes to clean the entire area and that seems to work well. I usually spray resolve spot cleaner or Shout on spots before I begin my cleans. This time there were a few spots that didn't come out until after I used the clean shot. And there are a few other spots that lightened after clean shot, but may never come out. I'm going to try baking soda and vinegar for those. Cons: - I had make a few passes to get some areas clean but to be fair it has been at least a year and a half since carpets were cleaned so expect to go over areas at least 4 times on a Deep Clean setting for the best clean for dirtier carpets. Still takes little time to complete. If you clean your carpets regularly this won't be necessary. - I'd suggest/request that Bissell place rubber where you hold the handle. Due to the back and forth of pushing the unit. My hand glides a bit on the hard plastic handle and I hand blisters/become sore from the friction. Upon first use I wrapped a cleaning cloth around the plastic handle to have some cushion to protect my hand. - If the unit is powered ON for a bit it can get very hot and makes a different sound seemingly when that happens so I check to be sure the clean water/solution tank isn't empty and will turn off the unit for about 10 min to let it cool down then continue once cool. Overall I'm very excited about this carpet cleaner and have recommended it to a few people already. Thanks for this product Bissell and thanks to everyone who posted their reviews to help me with my decision in purchasing a great carpet cleaner!!     • Fantastic unit but can use some redesign in some features
First, it took me several months (on and off) in researching for a carpet cleaner- here on Amazon and youtube (vacuum wars) and after seeing how this was in comparison with other carpet cleaners, it was obvious that this was the winner. PROS 1. Competitive price compared to other comparable carpet cleaners 2. It really sucks (in a good way) and you can see all the dirt through the clear nozzle and the dirty tank 3. Very easy to figure out, even if you vaguely read the instruction guide, like I did. The parts, such as the tanks and the nozzle and nozzle cover, are super easy to take off and put back on. 4. Overall great bang for you buck and it feels good not having to pay $500-600 to clean 900sqft of carpet! CONS 1. The unit is pretty heavy, but this is not such a bad thing in that it doesnt feel cheap and really sticks to the carpet, which is why it gets the job done 2. The cord can be slightly longer, I had to disconnect it when I entered every room (3) and when I vacuume with my dyson I only disconnect it once to do the entire upstairs. 3. Spraying the solution onto the carpet is the biggest CON of this vacuum- you have to squeeze everytime and when you almost 900 sqft its slightly annoying and after 2 hours I find myself with some minor blisters on my hand (the last time I got blisters on my hand was when I went to the batting cages- solution- wear a batting hand glove next time!) It would've been perfect is Bissell designed this feature as a button to constantly spray, but wishful thinking on my part 4. Emptying and refilling tanks- not as cumbersome as my 2nd story isnt that big, bit for those who have more than 900sqft of carpet, schedule at least a couple of hours to get it done. I spent about 30 mins per room and the hallway/loft area. As a mother to a toddler and 5 month, it wasnt an easy task to complete in one run 5. The bissell solution- when the unit arrived I wasnt able to use it right away, but my husband did and when I came back with my little ones the smell was horrific and so strong and he had finished 2 hours before I got home. It took another 2 hours to go away and it was really frustrating. The 2nd time around in using this unit, I used it and I found a perfect solution. I did NOT use the bissell solution this time- I used the Better Life All Purpose Solution (available on Amazon and free of chemicals- what I strive for in my household with children) and it worked perfectly with a very faint smell (I used the scented version). Next time I will be using the unscented version I have to make it almost odorless. I have yet to use the accessories, but I will update my review when I use it for my upholstered furniture. ... show more

Ok I am not the type of person to take the time and write a review. But I had to do it with this particular item. I spent 5 hours cleaning my carpet and I was sooooooo happy with the results. I am a DO IT myself girl. The machine comes in a box which was super easy for assembling, this machine is not heavy at all even with the water added on to it. I live alone so my carpet wasn't sickly dirty, however, I dog sit and you all now how that can be. I was amazed by the amount of nasty dirty water that this machine suctioned. I was also shocked on how good of a job it did. I cleaned my main level carpet 4 times, 2 with soap and 2 with just clear water, plus 2 more times empty tank to dry the carpet out. I obviously over did it,I think with one of soap and one of clear water plus 2 of drying would of been enough. My carpet looks BRAND NEW. It dried super quick and I was soooooooo HAPPY with the end result. It's easy to use on the stairs and CLEANING the machine was SUPER easy as well. All the parts come apart and are easy to clean. OVERALL 100% satisfied. It is not bulky, its light, easy to use. The only 1 thing I did not like as much, was how quick the dirty water contained filled and the machine stopped working when it was full. I had to empty it a LOT but its ok. ... show more
