The Bambino Version 2 builds upon what the original started. The dial features a light, metallic sunburst that's offset by polished hour markers and dauphine hands. A date window sits at the three o'clock marker, and a track of seconds markers worked its way around the edge of the dial. Most importantly, the Bambino has been upgraded with the F6724 movement which is automatic, hand-winding, and hacking.

I love this watch. I collect watches of all levels. Micro-brands, mid-level, high end and I have so much respect for Orient. Yeah they do a couple of things that drive me nuts (bracelets with hollow end links and stamped clasps). They make their movements in-house. That is horologically significant. Even at this price point. Which brings me to the title of this review. I don't know how they can make such a handsome wristwatch for the price I paid (105 with tax). I wouldn't blink twice if I saw this watch advertised for 500 dollars. It's that nice. One thing is for certain. Pictures do not do it justice. Seeing it in person, the play of light on the domed crystal, the creamy tone to the dial and those wonderful blue hands. The strap takes a bit of time to break in but it's not bad. It's pretty. I changed it out for something less shiny and a little more "me". If you're in the market for a retro-inspired dress watch, you can't go wrong with this. I bought the white dial with silver indices because I planned to wear this as an every day watch that can play the part of dress up when needed. This looks just as nice with jeans and a t-shirt or golf shirt as it does with a suit and tie. Accuracy has been minus 2 to 3 seconds a day. Not bad at all. I was pretty surprised at the accuracy for a mass produced movement but Orient is a proud company. I've had a few of their watches in my day and all of them, regardless of price point, had accurate movements as good or better than any of the pricier watches in my collection. I have mechanical dive watches (Swiss Army & Seiko), mechanical chronos (Omega), quartz tactical G-Shocks, vintage pieces and some lovely hand-made custom pieces with Unitas hand-wound movements and this Orient is the only one I want to wear of late. So light on the wrist and handsome. Reminds me of all those great watches from the late 50's and early 60's that came from Omega, Longines, JLC, etc. If you're thinking of dropping 2 C notes on a Timex Marlin, STOP. Look at the Bambino. It's so much more watch for the money with a superior movement and quality. Look at them side by side yourself and the quality and fine finishing of the Orient is very obviously superior. "Amo il mio bambino!!!"

What more can I say about the Orient Bambino that hasn't been said in all of the online reviews for this watch Nothing! But, if you do not research an item before you buy let me summarize... It is amazingly inexpensive for an automatic watch, in-house Japanese movement, it is beautiful, it's stylish, many variations, functions great, etc... My only minor complaint is that the band really is as bad as people have said in other reviews. It is stiff, it is not super comfortable, it feels cheap, and it is fairly small (I use the last hole to fit comfortably around my wrist). However I recommend this watch to anyone looking for a dress watch, an automatic watch, someone starting to collect watches, or anyone who wants to add to their collection. It really is the best watch for the money on the market! I did wear this to school (I'm a teacher) and I banged it on the chalkboard chalk holder while walking around my room pretty hard today and there was no damage to the watch on the case or crystal. EDIT: I loved my first Orient Bambino that I purchased a second one and received it yesterday. Now I have the black dial and the creme dial with blue hands. The creme dial looks great and is really easy to read. The blue hands are metallic blue and only appear blue in the correct light and actually look black most of the time. Correction, the blue hands are easily blue at work but seem more black at my home. When that light is perfect, the blue hands are stunning! I think the brown leather strap on the creme dial looks better than the black strap.

Just received the Orient Bambino Version 2 with the cream face and blue hands. I was looking for a quality, affordable automatic watch. I read all the reviews and settled on Orient. This watch is light and comfortable. Others have mentioned the band being stiff - that is not my experience. The band is elegant, high quality and not stiff at all. This is an outstanding watch. The price makes it a deal you can’t pass up! It has a vintage look that is classy and stylish. Although I just received this watch 2 hours ago, I highly recommend it!

What a pleasant surprise! I have to admit that my expectations weren't very high when I purchased this watch. But, Man, I am blown away by the visual aesthetics, the feel of quality as well as the accuracy of this Orient Bambino. It is running 4 seconds fast within a 24 hour period. That is comparable to watches I own that are 40X's the price. And, the price has dropped $16.00 since I bought it last week! Surprises: Orient did a fantastic job with the design! The dial, alone, is absolutely stunning in that it combines the new,( Rose gold tone Roman numerals for the hour markers) and, the old,( art deco Arabic numerals printed on the outer chapter ring for the '05, 10, 15, sec., etc.) All of which are accentuated by the vintage looking domed crystal. The case is very well thought out as well. It has a polished, tapered bezel over a brushed/satin case side that extends out to the lugs, creating a layered side profile which I find very appealing. I also like the over sized 'cupcake' crown which makes adjusting the time/date easy for man sized fingers. The strap also surpassed my expectations. It's quite comfortable, easy to find the perfect fit and I like the color which is dark brown with a nice burgundy tint, that compliments the rose tone hands/numerals on the dial. The signed buckle is a nice touch as well. Con's: If I had to nitpick, and I am..the date window could have been a tad larger. Other than that, I'm blown away by the amount of quality at this price point. It looks great with a dress shirt or a tee. As someone mentioned, the dial does have just a hint of mint in the right light. Well done, Orient. This is my third Orient and, it will most definitely not be my last. Time to sell the overpriced 'showpiece watches'!

As the headline says, I expected more after hearing so much, especially on YouTube, of how great this automatic watch was for the money. So I've decided to give it 4 stars since I couldn't choose 3.5 stars because it is a good watch but it's not better, in my opinion, than another inexpensive automatic watch that I own from Burei. The Bambino was $112 and the Burei was $89 when I purchased it in 2016. The overall feel and quality of the Burei is much better. Of the two, I think that if either one of these could be listed as a "luxury" watch, the Burei would be the one. But in all fairness, neither one is promoted as a luxury watch so my opinion is just that. I think the dial of the Burei is more fitting of a luxury watch too. Aesthetically, I think the Bambino wins though. Some may like the simplicity of the Burei but the vintage, antique look of the Bambino is amazing. The cream color and gold markers work very well together. As far as the leather bands goes, well, I never changed the band on the Burei because it is nice and very comfortable for a watch of this price. As soon as I brought the Bambino home, I immediately replaced the band with another leather band that I already had. The stock band both feels and looks cheap. Plus I don't think that the dark brown, burgundy or whatever the color of the band is matches the beautiful color of the dial. Both watches have self winding and hacking. Surprisingly, the feel of the self-winding is pretty close on both watches. The crown on the Burei is nicer with it's unique shape compared to the standard shape of the Bambino's. The one thing that I really love about the Burei is that for an inexpensive watch, it comes with a sapphire crystal. The domed crystal on the Bambino is different and I kinda like the look of it. I'm pretty easy on my watches but I can easily see this crystal getting damaged/scratched just through normal use because how much it's exposed. I also like that the Burei has the display case back. Sure it doesn't matter when you're wearing the watch but it does matter when you're showing the watch to friends. Most of my friends and co-workers know nothing about automatic watches so when the see the internals of the watch and how the rotor spins around to wind the watch, they always seem impressed. So in closing, I think that the Bambino is a good, inexpensive automatic watch and I do recommend it. But for the price and minus all the hype, there are better, inexpensive automatic watches out there.

After years of wearing a smart watch, I wanted to go back to analog watches. The Orient Bambino was recommended by several watch collectors on Youtube so I decided to get one. It is beautiful dress watch at a fraction of the cost of other more expensive brands. The 40.5 mm case is perfect for my relatively small wrist. The leather strap is firm and feels like it can last for years.
