Much quieter than the cordless Black and Decker vacuum, more power and suction, better quality and well made. The old black and decker one sucked and sounded like a lawnmower compared to the new Bissell. I love that it has a Hepa filter you can clean or wash and buy new ones every six months. To clean or change the Hepa filter, unscrew the blue round disk thing, where you see the unlock and lock symbols, on the top part, where the black sponge filter is, and it’s under there. It isn’t loud and is much more substantial than the old cordless black and decker vacuum. I ended up giving away the cordless black and decker one and bought this one instead. The old vacuum didn’t even pick up Cheerios. This Bissell has a sturdy head that has strong suction and easy to clean out the filter and dump the container into the trash. It’s well made and seems like strong quality plastic and has a metal mesh filter inside the canister. It also has a hepa filter inside the top canister part where the air blows out. The hairless roller thing is a great upgrade too, I have two cats and I have long hair, so there is shedding all over my apartment. Sucks up scattered kitty litter too. This vacuum is great and so glad I bought it. I got it on sale for $150, so I consider it a good deal. The head of the vacuum seems to ride higher than the old vacuum I had, so you can suck up a good size chunk of pieces, like cereal or plant mulch pieces that my cat digs out of the plants. It does use up the charge fast, but my apartment is only 500 square feet, so it’s fine. I use it on turbo so it uses it fast. If you have a larger area, I think you can buy a backup battery. I like that it has a three settings button, so you can do area rugs on low. It’s not heavy but it is sturdy and seems well made. I did buy the extended warranty just in case, I’ve had a good experience with Asurion before when something else broke, so I think it’s worth it to buy.

I never wanted to be boring enough to write a vacuum review, but here we go...this bad boy is what dreams are made of! I bought another cordless vacuum that shared a name with an aquatic creature before this purchase, used it for 5 min and sent it back the next day. Then I bought the bissel and my expectations were exceeded! Many mention battery life is poor so I expected to have to purchase another battery, but that isnt the case. I can vacuum my entire first floor and still have juice left (7rooms and hallway). The light is wonderful to tell me how disgusting we truly are each time I vacuum-all hardwood floors and a long haired dog have truly shown how much suction this guy has. The dirt trap is easy to clean, and it is so easy to take apart to use the attachments as needed. Truly love this vacuum as much as a person can love a vacuum... My ONLY complaint is that it sucks up my area rugs, and they can only be swept at light speed or else it starts blinking and I think that means its not sucking...that is a small complaint though as I can easily weigh them down at the sides or use my back up vacuum if I really need it.

Pleasantly surprised. Bought this on a good sale. It was this, or a refurbished Shark on Woot at similar prices at the time. So far, so good. I primarily have hard surfaces through the house (sealed wood, and linoleum), with runners and low ply rugs in some areas (bedroom, living room, kitchen). Anyone that has hard floors, knows they get gritty quick, which is to say that if you had carpet, where do you think all that is going into? and staying permanently. This picks up dog hair, sand, grass, you name it, and the LED headlight on it is decent to spot items. The charging caddy/mount was easy to install. Personally I think the drywall pegs they provided were too big, and didnt want to make large holes in the wall, and so I used my own smaller ones. My only complaint is the battery life, which drains quickly on its highest setting. I have a 1400sqft house, and on its highest setting, I can't get through half of it. I get around this by using low to medium, and kick it to high when doing runners, rugs or high traffic areas. Recharging it at least from dead to at least 1 or 2 bars takes less than 30mins. I believe additional batteries are available, but honestly for the price point of this unit I probably won't be buying any more. If you have a larger house than mine, I'd recommend it. If it weren't for the battery, this would get 5-Stars.

6 PET HOUSEHOLD (AKA ZOO) I’ve had this vacuum for almost a year, and I use it nearly EVERY DAY. This is hands-down the best stick vacuum! It’s durable and heavy, but not cumbersome. The suction is super strong, picking up pet hair tumbleweeds, dry kibble, and fine dust/dirt no problem. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats so my floors and couches need constant cleaning. The light in the front is awesome, don’t know how I lived without a light on a vacuum for so long! It’s horrifying when you see how much dirt is hiding in plain sight, even when I vacuumed yesterday lol. Never once got hair tangled, and I have long hair that I had to cut off the brush roll of every vacuum I’ve owned before this. The small upholstery attachment is awesome for the couches. And BATTERY LIFE IS GREAT! I can do all my wood floors on one charge. Love this and would recommend it to anyone.

I needed a vacuum for daily use and number one priority no brush. We have a Rottie and I needed a vacuum I could use daily with no tangling and this fits in the bill. It’s built well, cordless, lightweight and easy to use. It lays completely flat to get underneath your furniture and I love the light. The light helps me see if I missed anything. There is a no tangle rubber brush and it didn’t tangle at all. It also comes with other attachments if you want to vacuum your car and the suction is really great. It gives you three options for the suction. Con - our home is 2500 sq ft and 98% hard floors so I will definitely need to order an extra battery. There is a QR code on the vacuum to order an extra one. Especially since I sweep at least twice a day having a Rottie. But if you’re not using it as much one battery may suffice. I definitely recommend this Bissell if you have fur babies that shed.

Update: After using this for a couple months I think I’ll downgrade my original 5-star to 3. It’s actually between 3 and 4 but the issue with the vacuum battery dying so fast when using the higher speed is just so frustrating. I have hardwood, tile, and laminate flooring, no carpet at all. The house is a little over 2000 sf. We have multiple dogs and cats who shed A LOT. We leave the vacuum on the charger when not in use so it’s always fully powered when we need it. Lately I haven’t been able to get the pet fur up without multiple passes and having to increase the power to the highest setting. But when I do that the battery very quickly drains. The vacuum down-powers itself and then it eventually shuts off. I’ll turn the unit back on immediately and it goes at full power for a bit before beginning the down-power cycle over again. After going through this a few times, the battery dies and I can’t finish vacuuming the rest of the house til it charges again. I’ve come to the conclusion that we just need a more powerful motor for our purposes. I’m looking at the Bissell stick vacuum designed specifically for pets and has a stronger motor. Everything else about this vacuum is amazing. The ease in which it moves, the light weight (which I will likely sacrifice with the bigger model), the strong light, the quick morphing from vacuum to handheld…all of this is great still. But unfortunately I can’t vacuum my entire house on a fully charged battery. It lasts enough to vacuum my family, dining, and living rooms and that’s pretty much it. It’s a bummer because I certainly don’t want to shell out $300 for another vacuum. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I haven’t touched my shark vacuum since this Bissel came into our house. I love that it’s cordless. I love how lightweight and quiet it is. I love(/hate) the light that shows all of the dog hairs and cat hairs everywhere (like seriously wow it’s shocking how much the light shows). It picks up and maneuvers so well. But more than anything I love that I can detach the stick part and switch to the furniture attachment super easily. It is so easy to clean my furniture now. I can also detach the vacuum end of it and just use the stick or attach the crevice tool to get up on the walls and grab cobwebs. I could never do that with my other vacuum because the hose was too short so it would fall over every time I tried to do anything other than push it around. And it was just so heavy. Don’t be fooled by the small receptacle for all the dust and dirt and hair and everything because it’s super easy to detach, empty and put back on and just continue vacuuming. My other vacuum, you have to unclip latches, pull it out, take it apart just to empty it. I am telling you this Bissell was a game changer for us. Vacuuming doesn’t seem like a chore anymore. It’s just something that is easily done at any time. I don’t know if I’ll ever use my shark vacuum ever again. If I do need another vacuum, it’s gonna be another Bissell stick cordless just may be a little bit bigger.

This cordless vac has some advantages others don't..... easy to put together, multiple speeds for different carpet piles, a brush roller that doesn't get hair wrapped around it and a light that shows you every spec! I might think my kitchen floor is clean then I use this vac and the light shows all the little bits that didn't show up before. And if that isn't enough, it will stand up straight on its own - no hanger is really necessary. And the battery is easly removeable if you prefer to charge it separate from the vac. I Love this little guy!!!!!

Cleans well, not very loud, but on the heavy side. I find it a bit too fidgety doing the stairs. Three levels of power is useful for levels of suction needed, and the battery is adequate for probably up to 2500 sq f house for end to end vacuuming. Quality is good and sturdy. Cleanup, and filter cleaning is pretty convenient. Good value for the price.
