I had no idea how much disgusting stuff was lurking in my carpets being ignored by my ancient Monster of a vacuum. My friend & I were chatting one night, she recommended this Shark as she had an earlier model & loved it. I ordered it right then, and eagerly expected its arrival 2 days later. Got my tracking notification and discovered I'd actually ordered 2! Whoops, might've been the vodka... Anyhoo, it's a Mighty Mouse! Half the weight of the old Monster, 5x as effective, easy dirtcup emptying, and so low profile that I really don't need to use the flex feature, but it's cool too! Took a minute to get used to it being top-heavy (as opposed to the motor weight being on the floor with the Monster) but no biggie. Easy to switch between hard surfaces & carpet settings, 3 power levels, and excellent battery life. Having 2 batteries is a bonus, and the charging station is cool. The batteries charge quickly too. Told my friend I loved it, admitted I drunkenly ordered 2 & had to return the extra, but she volunteered to take it off my hands so now we both have brand new Mighty Mouses! ... show more

This stick vacuum has some good features I liked. The brush head has two brush rolls. Consisting of three types of brushes. Soft, hard bristles and fins. They do a good job. The brush head also has two speeds as well. Suction is very good at all three speeds. The hinged vacuum tube actually does make it real easy to vacuum underneath furniture. I do however miss having an extendable one and the hinge makes it less rigid and protrude out further the shorter in height you are. I still have to reach in the dust bin when emptying due to the long hair draping over a part that's attached inside of the door that pops open when emptying. Something I've experienced on other vacuums regardless of if there's just a plain door flap or something like this design. Couldn't find any replacement HEPA filters sold on the manufacturer's sight, but found some generic ones sold on Amazon. Haven't received them yet so I can't vouch on how good they are. One of the main reasons I purchased this model that doesn't have the sensors or air freshener features is getting two batteries and dual charger. I don't have smelly rugs or a problem with wondering if I vacuumed everything up. The problem I had was running out of power before I was done vacuuming. I would either have to wait for my battery to recharge or rush to try to finish everything when my battery got low. Having two batteries is a blessing. Especially when they cost eighty something dollars from the manufacturer. Having the more deluxe brush head makes it a little more heavier down on that end and lifting it from the handle like with other brands feels flimsy, like it might possibly break if done repeatedly over time. I'd suggest using the two handed approach with one hand holding on down below when moving it around from one spot to another. You can easily remove the soft brush with the push of a button, the main brush however is permanently fixed which I don't know how they expect you to clean yet alone the clear window on top you can see dirt and dust clinging too? I think, as a "Good Vacuum Lover" that the Shark Vertex Pro Cordless I682H Vacuum is the best all around vacuum for everyday use that I have ever purchased. I do not write reviews but in this case I felt the need to. This Vac has 2 rolls contacting the floor where the 1st roll feeds the 2nd roll and has a strong suction through a rectangle pipe that even picks up my wife's long hair that falls out or that she just throws on the floor after brushing. The long hair very rarely winds around the 1st roll and does not wind around the 2nd like most vacuums. (don't know how) Best part even the kids in the family love to vacuum their room and the house because its' easy and they can see the results in the dust compartment. The battery lasts as well as can be inspected. Hard to get the family to dump the dust or change the battery eventhough its' easy. If you buy be sure to read the instructions or at read least about the controls because there are 2 speeds, On and what I call ''High Gear". Normal corded vacuums have a "Start/Run" built in and I think in cordless it is just manual. It had been a year of use, I bought another one exactly the same because of concern they would stop mfg it like everything else that is any good they stop making and it can't be found ... show more

We love that you can set it for carpet or hardwood floors. Being cordless is also fantastic because our old vacuum the cord was always just a little too short. It's also great that it comes with two batteries!

I bought this vacuum in November on a black Friday deal. Even on sale, it was over a $300 purchase which seems expensive but in a house with all hardwood and tile, I felt it would be worth it. For 4 months, I loved this thing. It worked amazing for the hard floors and the fact that I could remove the wand portion made vacuuming stairs incredibly easy and efficient. But, in order to store this vacuum, it has to fold. It is super top heavy and if you don't fold it to put it away, it will crash to the ground. I was so careful with this thing because I loved it so much and because it was stupid expensive. I went to unfold it to use it as normal 4 months after purchasing and it would not unfold. I could see nothing wrong with it but there was no getting it to unlock for some reason. As I had registered my product, I was sure Shark would take care of me because I have had good experiences with their 5 year warranties in the past. But, no such luck this time. I was informed that the "wand" section of the vacuum is not covered under their warranty as it is considered an attachment. BUT you cannot use the vacuum without the "wand" portion unless you are only 3 feet tall. This is ridiculous to me. You have to fold the dang thing or it tips over but if that folding part breaks, shark's response is you're out of luck and you have to purchase a new "wand" for $40. Shame shark. Shame!! I would understand if this was not an essential part of the vacuum, but as it is literally essential in order to use the vacuum, it should be covered under warranty. So like a putz I bought the new part because without it, I have a $300 paperweight. I am very, very disappointed. I have been a long time shark customer....every vacuum I have owned in the last two decades has been a shark. I will rethink buying another from them in the future after this. ... show more

I hesitated justifying spending this much money but bit the bullet. I am so happy I did. I live out in the country where there is constant dust or mud depending on weather and also have three dogs in house. One is long haired. The suction was impressive and easy to operate and to dismantle to attach other devices to reach different areas. I could clean easily behind t.v. and by the toilets. I love the flex so i can go underneather funiture where I couldn't reach before. Also the container is a nice size to accumilate so I am not always emptying the bin. I love how I dont have to mess with the cord which is bonus. Easy to store with the flex and doesnt take much room up. Overall so happy I made my life easier and cleaner with this vaccum. It came with batteries, a charger, and other devices to attach and detach depending what you want to clean. Now I have something also to clean my inside of car and don't have to drive to a carwash for a vaccum. Overall very happy! Also forgot it's nice and light. If there is cobwebs on cieling I can reach them with ease. ... show more

This vacuum is AMAZING compared to my Dyson cordless vacuum cleaners. I love that I can see the percentage of battery life I have left. I love that I have two batteries that I can easily change as I need to. The swivel floor head is awesome and this thing cleans so well!! I am so impressed with this vacuum that I want to give my Dysons away and order a second one of these so that each floor of my home has one. However, I think I will wait a bit in hopes that Shark changes this design a little. Here is what I hate about this vacuum... It's very top-heavy. It will not stand upright on its own at all. So if you are vacuuming and what to pause to move something out of the way, you have to lay this down on the ground. This is very annoying. I thought I would like that this folds down to save space but I actually hate it and hope this will change in the future. I have used my vacuum for about two weeks and already a piece is falling off and getting caught up in the roller. In addition the little wheels get filled with hair and fibers and it's very difficult to clean these out. I reached out to customer service about the rubber piece falling off and they stated this is NOT covered under warranty, only the motor is. They can't replace just the rubber piece that they would have to replace the entire head unit. Since it's not covered under their warranty (regardless that I just purchased it less than 2 weeks ago) they would only replace it as a one-time courtesy. If something breaks again, it would not be free to fix/replace since I would be using my "one-time pass". Already, I dislike Shark's customer service/warranty policy - especially considering the price we pay for this item!
