  • What an upgrade!
Style: Torque Drive
I bought the Dyson Animal in 2007 and had it for 10+ years. It was still fully functional but was just getting too heavy and cumbersome for me to use in my small apartment. I was able to sell my old, fully working dyson (which still had amazing pick up btw) for $75. I sold a few other household items and then, I was able to buy my dyson at a great price here on amazon. :-) I also have a small ergorapido vacuum but i was getting extremely frustrated at how poor the suction was. It is essentially useless and was a waste of $100. I am trying to sell that too but alas, no one is biting!! Not surprised there!!! First off, it was better than Christmas when this new dyson arrived. The boxing was impeccable and each piece is high quality. I was very excited to use my vacuum because my apartment had not been thoroughly deep cleaned in a while!! The old dyson being way too difficult for me to maneuver with my back problem and the ergorapido being completely USELESS. My allergies were also really flaring up with all the dust!! So, the first time I used the V11 I was extremely impressed with the pick up capacity. I was able to clean the vacuum my entire apartment, with base boards and detailing of dusty furniture and blinds, in under 45 minutes one morning before I went to work. I couldn't believe how much dust there was but already my eyes and sinuses are LESS itchy. I emptied the canister twice because I picked up so MUCH DUST. Although it was slightly heavier than I was anticipating, it is MUCH lighter and easier to maneuver than my old dyson animal. I didn't break a sweat like I did with the old dyson. It rolls very smoothly and the AUTO adjustable function between the rug and carpet saves A LOT OF TIME. I was able to clean so much more in less time because I wasn't messing with a cord and switching between the different functions constantly. I was able to complete EVERYTHING on one charge of course with plenty of time to spare. I love all the attachment heads that come with it. I am also VERY much looking to keeping my car more clean on a regular basis now that I have a portable vacuum with great attachments as well! I also really like the feature where you can remove the roller from the side of the vacuum head. I have long hair and wanted something that I would be able to easily remove the hair! I was unable to unscrew the side of it easily but that was ok because I was still able to pull the hair out pretty easily, much more easily than other vacuums I have used in the past. CAVEATS: Make sure to empty the vacuum BEFORE there is too much stuff in it! Debris WILL get caught if it goes above the line! I had to spend a little time really getting the canister cleaned out before I started round 2 because my hair got caught above the line! Next time, I will empty it sooner! Vacuuming just got so much easier I barely even noticed how much I was really picking up so fast! Now that my apartment is so clean, the V11 will make it much more enjoyable and easier for me to maintain a cleaner home. I will be vacuuming more frequently now to maintain areas because of the ease of using the vacuum. It is a highly effective vacuum and there isn't much of a need to have to run the vacuum over multiple times in one location. It picks up what it rolls over very well. For installation of the hanging charging station on the wall, make sure you have a drill on hand to make the holes for the screw to go into! It didn't say that in the directions but you will need a drill to make the pilot holes! :-) I love that you can hang the vacuum out of sight just about anywhere near an outlet! I am VERY pleased with my purchase and my dyson upgrade! I can see this one lasting me at least another ten years which to me is worth it, considering my last one was still going for over 10+! I also love the interface. It is a really really COOL vacuum and it was worth the effort to let go of my old dyson for a new one! ... show more

  • DYSON! V 11 Torque Dr. = Total game changer
Style: Torque Drive
After much consideration and after reading and watching many reviews and demos, I pull the trigger on this Dyson V11 Torque Dr. a few months ago. Amazon allowed me to do the six payment plan which was very helpful. I also bought the extended warranty. In short it’s been super, I even vacuum my cat. Total game changer. Yes it’s plastic, but it works perfect every time every day, honestly it’s almost the perfect vacuum cleaner. Pros: It’s lightweight and cleans better than anything I’ve used before, easy to steer and handle, easy to empty, easy to swap out filters, comes with all necessary attachments, great customer service, I’ve called them twice with questions, quiet, pet hair friendly my cat even lets me vacuum her she loves it!, Almost 0 emissions, Great for catching in house rogue mosquitoes, holds a charge long enough for my needs. It’s quite literally the perfect vacuum cleaner. I mainly use the auto adjustment but have used ecco successfully and the almighty powerful boost mode which will drain the battery quickly but refurbish a rug back to its new luster. I have a house with predominantly floor tile and two large floor rugs also front and back door mats; roughly 1470 sq footage. Also low profile carpet in a refurbished 2 car garage. I can maintain the entire space and clean my cat twice a day and not run out of a charge. If I’m doing heavier cleaning I will run out eventually but it charges quick enough. It was one of my big concerns and I’ve only found myself twice wishing I had further charge. Cons: my only gripe is I’ve developed a callus on the inside top of my middle finger and the right side of my thumb. Itd be nice to see a more ergonomic grip redesign that also includes a trigger lock so you don’t have to constantly pull with your finger. I did purchase a small third party plastic device that acts as a trigger lock that works OK. I would add that anybody who has a physical impairment might be challenged to operate this vacuum cleaner. Not any more or less than any other standard Upright but it is something to consider. This being cordless would be a benefit that said. I highly recommend getting extra filters and changing your filter once every couple weeks even. I do not recommend waiting for the filter change icon to appear. I believe this will help the vacuum cleaner live longer. Dyson filters run $24 apiece, I ordered this third-party manufacturer filter and they work just as well https://www.amazon.com/Wolfish-Filters-Replacements-Cordless-970013-02/dp/B07V85J4SS ***Do not vacuum anything wet or any liquids; it will mess up the motor, also nothing fine like ash. I read other reviews were people have learned this the hard way. I’ve had good luck with cat hair and cat dander. It’s so awesome I can vacuum my cat! ... show more

  • Great product! Worth it if it's not too much vacuum for the job. Great product! Worth it if it's not too much vacuum for the job.
Style: Torque Drive
I was cautious prior to buying this and read all the negative reviews but decided to buy. Glad I did. I wanted to comment on some of the negative comments with my opinion to help skeptical buyers like myself. So, 1. the plastic wall mount base, its not to flimsy. It holds the vacuum great if you slam it around like rubber weights in the gym. 2. If you see my picture I mounted it so its supported with the attachment on to help hold the weight and prevent the bottom from being caught. It has a lot of leverage on drywall anchors if it's torqued on, as is anything mounted on sheet rock. I did this for my V7 as well and has worked great for years. 3. Use the right settings for the head when going from carpet to hardwood; the center setting or minus setting (letting in more air) and it works great. It picks up sand, cherries, screws, peanuts or what ever just fine. 4. It's not the manufactures fault there isn't an outlet in your closet. 5. The directions are vague and little under done, but this isn't a complicated item either. 6. Is this the right vacuum is the biggest question of all. I have a V7 for the second floor that is all carpet and it works great for about 1000 sq. ft. of quick clean up and is about $200 less. We went with this for the downstairs because we were too lazy to keep going upstairs and this one worked better transitioning on an off our rugs to hardwood that we on the first floor. We have a 1 year old and teenagers so this was a great addition that quickly and efficiently keep the floors clean for the baby. I'm so over swiffer mops that don't really work. 7. Deep cleaning ability is good. We have a Kirby that we use one time a year (just before we have the carpets shampooed). The other 364 days of the year the Dyson's do all the work. 8. Battery life, great in this V11. If you need more, vacuum more often or make life changes..lol. I've cleaned the whole bottom floor and used on the car and still never got below 50% on the V11. The v7 would have needed to be charged at least once for that amount. So that maybe a decision point. Lastly the V11 has been said to be unbalanced in weight and awkward. If you see the second picture and use the attachment holder it offsets the slight misbalance. But really, it is 6 lbs. if that gives you issues get a gym membership, really. Oh and the V11 has a detachable battery that the v7 doesn't. If multiple charges for long runs is what you may need then that maybe a decision point. If not you may want to save some cash and go with the v7. I've also purchased cheaper model of cordless vacuums but they don't last and preform like Dysons so you'll get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Dyson Torque v11 vacuum
Style: Torque Drive
I have only had the vacuum a few days and I absolutely love it. It has strong suction and different ranges of suction so if I want a suction boost I can get it, but the regular suction is strong. I love that it gets around my chair legs because of its maneuverability. Amazing maneuverability. You can stand in one place and get around all the chair legs without having to move around to each side like you would with a regular vacuum cleaner. It gets under my kitchen cupboards where my old vacuum didn't fit. With my regular vacuum I had to stop and install a flexible hose and keep pulling the vacuum around to use the short hose that was attached which is awkward. I can go from carpet to floors and it automatically adjusts. The tools are fantastic! Any changing of tools is quick and easy, much easier and quicker than a regular vacuum and there are many more tools. I feel like I am getting all my vacuuming done faster from living room to kitchen to stairs and the special cleaning such as under the kitchen cupboards, under dining room chairs, tables, stairs, blinds, shelves, upholstered furniture, door tracks, around the dryer, etc. I would have skipped alot of that with my old vacuum because it was too time consuming and inconvenient. The handheld option makes alot of those jobs so much easier than trying to pull a vacuum around so you can use the flexible hose. There are many tools that come with the vacuum that are so useful. The vacuum is lightweight so it is great for stairs and much quieter than my old vacuum. I have never run out of power before I have finished vacuuming. It is hot here because it is summer and the motor puts off a light breeze and cools me off while I am vacuuming. I like the LCD screen which shows how much power I have used and how much I have left. It also lets you know how much power you have for the level of suction you choose. If you use the Power boost for all your vacuuming you would run out of power a little earlier than if you use the regular or eco suction but I have never had to. It charges within a few hours so it is always ready to use. I am so happy I made this purchase! It is a great vacuum. It is expensive. That is the only slight negative I can think of. ... show more

  • Love it
Style: Torque Drive
So I should Premise that I only use this on the max setting , that is the highest of the 3 settings. So on the high setting I love it. It only lasts 15 minutes but my god will it suck so much dirt out of your carpet more first then you even new was there. ( it’s disgusting but awesome ) — it’s like the Kirby but with out 200 pounds and ten minutes of prep time. The problem is once you use the vacuum on the high setting you never wanna go back down because it doesn’t work nearly as well yes it will pick up all the dirt you can see but after picking up all the dirt can’t see you just simply can’t ever use the regular setting again maybe for someone with hardwood but I have carpet. One thing is after I first bought it I went on a cleaning spree and the next day my elbow hurt and it continued to hurt for almost a month I’m holding the vacuum above my head I think but it’s not the vacuum spot I’m out of shape so I’m not really holding that against it. But be warned I wouldn’t suggest anyone’s grandmother vacuum their blinds or tapestries with it for that reason. Also I definitely suggest purchasing the offbrand stand that goes with it because it just makes it so neat and easy for all of the attachments and riches place over on its stand which also keeps charging. I am however afraid to vacuum up anything nasty or sticky because of the cost of the vacuum and since the filter is reusable I don’t know I’m just worried I vacuumed up wet dog hair once with the Kirby planet has not horrible ever sense so that that kind of bothers me when you pay so much for something you’re hesitant to do certain things with it because you might break it which then overrides the purpose of getting it in the first place but I still like it ... show more

  • Poor performance but adaquate battery life.
Style: Torque Drive
We purchased this vacuum for our boutique with high hopes that a cordless, high-quality (high-cost at least) vacuum would be a great asset in keeping our little shop looking spiffy. We have about 1200 square feet of plank flooring that gets vacuumed daily plus a couple of area rugs and a mat in front of our entry door. After several months of use, I am not at all impressed. 1. Battery life is adequate (time-wise) if power is kept at a minimum. When "Turbo" is engaged, battery life drops significantly, as does noise, and suction power seems to increase. 2. Small ( 1/8" ) rocks get tracked in on customers shoes. The power head on this vacuum will shoot these pebbles all over the floor but will not pick them up. Often they become lodged in the power head, resulting in much racket, and the power head must be removed, disassembled and the pebble removed. 3. Emptying the dust bin, if not done with great care and finesse, often results in most of the collected debris being scattered about the floor instead of being deposited in the trashcan. The dust bin must be removed after every use to clean the screens as they quickly become clogged. Often, after only a few minutes of operating the vacuum, it will lose suction and everything must be disassembled and cleaned. 4. One of the guide wheels fell off the power head after a few uses. I was able to McGeiver a fix but am greatly disappointed in the overall quality of this appliance. In conclusion, we're dissatisfied with the performance and quality of this so-called, "high end," vacuum. ... show more

  • Little ass plastic parts inside make this easy to break … Little ass plastic parts inside make this easy to break …
Style: Torque Drive
I have had this Dyson since 2020, so six years now . I love it . It’s my favorite tool to clean with, although mine doesn’t have the light attachment . It does a hell of a job picking up most things from my hardwood and composite tile floors - cat hair , my hair (very long ) , kids hair (very thick ) , dirt , crumbs, almost everything. I’d even say be careful before using it - pick up the things you DON’T want to get stuck in it ( toys, hard plastics, screws, coins, other metal, etc) since the suction is really good in this thing . However … The first photo is me pointing to the issue- it is a plastic piece that has been broken off of the top of the battery unit today , which I have detached from the vacuum using the world’s smallest damn screwdriver in order to assess the damage . Not sure how this break (inside) the vacuum has happened . The second photo is the piece that has broken off , which decided to split into two pieces . This tiny ass piece of plastic is what is supposed to keep the battery mechanism in place in order to apply the necessary pressure to activate the trigger , in order to use the vacuum. THIS is the piece preventing me from using the vacuum, rendering it totally inoperable. For over $600 there should be a lot less easily breakable cheap ass plastic in this thing . I’m not sure if customer service can even help with this . And of course, the warranty has been expired… I would recommend getting the warranty if you have kids or irresponsible adults using it - it’s cheaper than replacing the whole thing . Pros : very , VERY good suction. Battery has decent longevity on medium mode which I use most often. Doesn’t take long to fully charge (depending on usage- I will use mine for 20-30 minutes at a time and will charge fully within an hour ). Likely won’t need to replace this vacuum for years with proper maintenance and upkeep. Since it’s cordless, you can literally use it anywhere and nearly every surface - it’s great on all of the many stairs in my home . I use it on my hardwood floors without issues. I don’t have carpet anymore but it worked great on the carpets I used to have (low pile). I’ve used it to clean out my car as well without issues . I use it to vacuum my couch too , and the attachments are useful , with some getting a lot more use than others. The display screen on the top is useful in telling you what percentage your battery is on , what mode you’re in , if something is stuck and where in your vacuum the obstruction can be located and when to clean the filter. Cons: I have had to replace some parts for this over the years - the trigger (I did buy a new one that came with a bonus trigger and all of the tools you would need to replace it), tool attachment clip , filters (to be expected) and another set of tools (brushes, pipe cleaner style tools ) to clean out the vacuum drum when it inevitably gets clogged and dirty. I feel like cleaning tools for the unit should have been included. Although cordless, it is kind of heavy for one handed use , if you are a young kid, older person, have weakened wrists , carpal tunnel or nerve issues in your hands . The high suction mode can be really loud . You HAVE to buy a wall mount or stand or something because it doesn’t stand on its own, and you DON’T want this expensive ass vacuum just on the floor to be stepped on , kicked or otherwise damaged . A wall mount or free standing mount (sold separately) will help to house your attachments and vacuum unit as well, since the attachment clip included can only hold two of the vacuum attachments. I would not recommend letting kids use this without supervision or being told how to use it , properly empty it and safely store it after each use . Don’t drop this thing ! It seems delicate with all the plastic parts. Don’t vacuum water with it or try to use it while the filter is wet or it will be FUBAR . The included filter , if you wash it (which you absolutely should after awhile - the vacuum will tell you on the display when you should wash it ) needs to dry for a full 24 hours before you can use it again , so I’d recommend buying replacement filters so you can use your vacuum whenever you need it . Basically: if you have $600 to blow (plus more for a stand , cleaning kit and replacement parts) and you like your floors clean, this is somewhat worth the money for the suction power alone , but it’s very delicate for being so expensive . ... show more

  • Convenience, light weight and maneuverability means floors get cleaned more often!
Style: Torque Drive
I use an older Dyson upright and my wife uses a Bissell stick vacuum After one month: NO MORE CORDS! The V11 is light in weight but heavy on convenience and the suction is amazing. My wife has rheumatoid arthritis and I worried how she would be able to use the V11 with the works in the handle. She says it is as easy to use as the stick vac. It is very well balanced. The trigger switch has not been an issue for either of us. Maneuvering the vacuum head is dead easy and so much more convenient than the fixed heads of other vacuums. The vacuum head goes under cabinet overhangs and furniture, something the upright can’t do. The powered brush head does an excellent job on wood floors. Cleaning ceiling air and filter vents is so much more easy. I was skeptical how the V11 would handle the few short pile area rugs but it cleans them just fine. We have not run out of battery power cleaning our 2300 square foot house. The light weight, convenience and powered head means many small jobs go to the Dyson instead of the Dust Buster. Emptying is easy. My one concern is dust accumulation on the inside surfaces of the vacuum. I use an air compressor to blow out the dust accumulation in the innards of the Dyson upright and it is amazing how much there is. I’ve cleaned the V11 the same way and dust accumulation in it is also amazing. I can’t imagine not having an air compressor to clean these vacuums. The most important point I want to reiterate is that the convenience, light weight and maneuverability of the V11 means floors get vacuumed more often! What is the value of convenience, ease of use and good cleaning? Despite the initial cost, this vacuum can handle the jobs as well if not better than our other vacuums but with magnitudes more ease and convenience. ... show more
