  • Just amazing, really
I wish I could praise how much I truly enjoy this vacuum. There's a lot about it that I really like, and it's honestly hard for me to find issues with it. I think the biggest thing that caught me off guard that I really like is how small it is. I don't think I realized how tiny this is, which is great because it really allows me to easily maneuver around the house and get under things. Considering it's portable, that's a big win in my book. I will say the instructions that come with it aren't super great. I found that I had to go online to find how to use it properly. I didn't think I was using it properly, but I was. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. Some of the features that I really enjoy are the auto-clean functionality that's built into the dock. I thought that was really cool. One of the gotchas that got me there, though, is if your tank is empty, it's not gonna auto-clean, and then it gives you a weird error that's not really apparent what's going on. I think that's the one issue I have with this device: the error states that it gives you aren't always the most clear, but once you get the hang of it, you kind of learn what's what. As far as cleaning power, I've had a rug in the living room that has three dogs that run over it. It's a rainbow carpet, so it goes from red, yellow, green, and blue. It's essentially the worst rug you could have if you have dogs, but we have it and we have used a Roomba on it for months and months. It keeps it pretty clean, and we thought that it's been clean, but then we brought this in and the tank was just absolutely filled with dirty water and hair. It was surprising how much hair it was able to pull out of our carpet, so overall I am just so happy with this thing. It has really helped clean those hard-to-clean rugs in our house, and just it's great. ... show more

  • Like a Swiffer WetJet that hit the gym
For me, this sits in an interesting middle ground. It's not a full-on deep cleaning system, but it's definitely not a simple mop either. The best way I can describe it is like a Swiffer WetJet decided to bulk-up, add a vacuum, and take itself a bit more seriously. For small to medium(ish) messes, it's pretty great. Spills, dirt, pet hair, etc. - the HydroScrub can handle it quickly and efficiently. Being able to vacuum and mop at the same time is genuinely useful - especially in high-traffic areas where you'd normally have to double-up on the task. It's pretty easy to live with in terms of setup. Filling the clean tank, taking it apart, and getting it ready are all fairly straightforward. The battery life is solid, too. It will run out of fluid long before you'll run low on power. Where it starts to show limitations is in scale. Larger rooms are a challenge for the HydroScrub if you're expecting to clean the entire room. The cleaning solution runs out much faster than you'd expect and the dirty tank fills up just as quickly. And then there's the cleanup. Emptying and rinsing the dirty tank can be... unpleasant - especially if you're using this for things like pet accidents. Sure you can power through, but it's not something I'd want to regularly do in my kitchen sink. Regarding performance, it cleans well, but it is not a finisher. On hardwood, it can leave some light streaking, so it really performs best as a cleaning tool rather than something that is going to leave your floors polished and perfect. All that said, it does exactly what it is designed to do. It's a convenient machine for quick cleanups and daily maintenance. For whole house cleaning, you'll probably want to reach for something else. But overall it is well built, easy to use, pushes and turns easily, and is perfect for spot cleaning. The initial cost is a bit more expensive than a Swiffer, but you're also not stuck with buying all the disposable pads - plus it is way more versatile and powerful. Would I recommend it? Sure, if you're looking for something a bit fancier and more feature rich than your standard small mop. It serves the same purpose, but elevates its abilities. ... show more
