As other reviews state, this film is pretty sheer. I live in a basement apartment. My windows are part of the walkway people use to get to their apartment. There is a concrete wall facing my apartment as well. There are also no ceiling lights in any of the bedrooms. So, there is no privacy if I open my blinds to let in light, and it can be very, very dark during the day. I wanted something that would allow me to feel comfortable leaving my windows open during the day but wouldn't block the much-needed sunlight. I knew this was on the sheer side, but that works great for my needs. The film is forgiving and easy to apply. I had to adjust it a few times, and it didn't compromise the film's ability to adhere to my windows, which is a major plus. I've used other window films, and this one is definitely the easiest to apply. It is easiest to apply window film with a spray bottle and those little squeegee tools, but I just applied this film by getting my window wet, lining the film up, and using a credit card to smooth it out. If you get only one tool when you apply this film, I recommend getting an exacto knife. I only got enough for my bedroom window to test it out and see if I wanted to get more. I'll be getting more for the rest of my windows. I've checked my windows from the outside to see how much privacy I'm getting. It blurs/distorts the room slightly. Just enough to work, clean, or be in my room without feeling exposed. That said, I probably wouldn't dress with my windows open. These definitely don't offer enough privacy for that. If privacy isn't your concern, this film is also a fun decor item. I love getting more light in my bedroom and the fun rainbows the film casts all over my room. I've had this film for a few months, and it's held up great. I've seen no peeling or any other issues. ... show more

Wull... At first I didn't like it because I can see through it and my purpose in buying it was to have something pretty to provide privacy while letting the light in. However, after living with it a few days, I love it. Super easy to install on clean windows. I used a small bit of windex and a paper towel to work it to the edges and remove. This makes it easy to get the film exactly where and how you want it as you go. I only put it on the bottom part of the windows and raise the blinds half-way. My home is much more light and bright! I bought two different designs. This one looks like stained glass with lots of beautiful colors. Although the yard guys can see in, in a pixilated way, they're not here all the time. I live in a small home and I'm putting these designed cling film on all the windows to increase the light. It also throws nice prism light on the floor during sunny times. This window film works great to cover a window. I use it on an office window that really has no view outside, just of the fence. At sunset, it creates beautiful rainbow effects into the living room. If you have a window where the sun shines directly through it, this window cling film will create beautiful rainbow effects in to your house. If you’re using this just to cover a window and the sun never directly shines through that window, you will not get the rainbow affect into your room. This is common sense, but I thought it was worth stating anyway. It still is pretty and does the job of creating privacy. This is my second time buying this cos I love it. it gives me privacy during the day and it lets in beautiful colours in. It was super easy to install and it sticks well (but both times for me there is always a corner that doesnt want to stick, not sure if its from where I was grabbing it, or what.) MAKE SURE YOUR WINDOW IS CLEAN! Also, I noticed that at night, you can see through the window (like pixelated, but clearly can see whats going on without the details) just beware. ... show more

The film casts tons of rainbows but isn't super colorful itself. It's also really easy to put up even without a squeegee, just use a card to scrape out bubbles after you get it up. It does not block heat or light at all, just visibility.
