This bissell, vacuum cleaner for dog beds is the best. I have tried many! Always disappointed with the results. It’s very seldom when you buy something and it delivers everything it claims. This hand held vacuum cleaner literally erases the dog hair on the beds. It works like a Dyson. It’s a well-made product has some weight to it. Easy to use, no loud noise. I was a little hesitant because it used a battery. It has a long battery life. Once I charged it, no problem and I vacuumed two big dog beds with bolsters and it cleans them with no problem so that is not an issue. Easy to clean filter. I made the mistake of previously purchasing the insanely expensive Dyson handheld... which promptly died in a few months, was replaced, died again and then fell out of warranty. The reason I went with the Dyson originally was that having a powered rotating brush was important to me as the air rotated brushes are generally useless. I also wanted something light, cordless and easy to use. I wish I'd found this little vac first. For me a little vac like this is for cleaning up quick messes, cleaning my stairs, and vacuuming my furniture. This vac does all that, easily, on a single charge. It's powerful and lasts a long while - I haven't timed it but I think 20 or so minutes with the brush in use. My only complaint is that I wish it had a removable battery. The battery is built in, which means when the battery dies (which it will in a couple years) the vac becomes useless. Luckily, it's cheap enough that I won't mind having to replace it considering it's 1/4 of the price of the next best option. I've seen a few bad reviews concerning the battery going dead immediately on first use. This is just chance... a certain amount of batteries will have issues; this goes for anything you buy with a battery. If it works it will continue to work. If it goes bad immediately, that's just how it goes and you can exchange it. Don't judge things based on that battery criteria... Also keep in mind like any other battery you should not keep it plugged in all the time. ... show more

    • This handheld is a MUST for pet owners!

I have 2 pups that shed a TON and this little handheld has been an absolute lifesaver. The amount of hair, dust and debris it sucks up is incredible and I don't know how I got on without it before. Before purchasing I read mostly positive reviews but heard repeat issues about the battery. As a result I took extra care to clean the unit regularly and charge it only enough to reach a full charge before detaching it to prevent over loading the battery. After approx. 9 months of daily use I started noticing an issue, when I would press the on button the machine would start briefly and then power down. I would turn it on again and it would run no problem. The problem persisted and turned into needing 2 - 3 attempts to get it to start until eventually it would not run at all. I reached out to Bissell and they apologized for the issue and promptly mailed me a replacement unit under warranty. I am happy for the manufacturer standing behind their product and do love this vacuum, based on the service and the unit's capabilities I am still rating this 5 stars. Frankly, if I had to purchase a new unit once a year and it would still be well worth it, that is how good it works. The various attachments are easy to change out and work well (my favorite is the roller head attachment in the picture), the unit is easy to clean and lasts for about 15 - 20 minutes on a full charge, more than enough to get all my furniture, bed spread and rugs. I am hoping this new unit will last a little longer but overall a great purchase and I would highly recommend! ... show more

Read quite a few reviews..seems like some are either 1 star or 5, so I was thinking why that might be? I've had mine now for a little over a week and it's a great little vacuum. Picks up pet hair nicely, but it doesn't have a lithium battery where you can charge it in the car, so if your vehicle is really dirty, I'd say no. But if you're using it for light everyday cleanup, then yes, it sucks up very nicely. My first mistake was that I thought I had pushed the plug into the vacuum far enough, but apparently I didn't. The red light was still on when I went back to check on it. So make sure you really push the charger into the unit so it charges well. Great for floor spills, bathroom powder oops, back of hair dryers, in between fridge and counters, really just about anything. If the stairs are your main goal here, I'd use it to vacuum what you can, then use the crevice tool or the fuzz tool to get near the back of the stairs. A little extra time and tenderness is all that is required. Some things just aren't easy no matter how you try. I love mine and the suction is great! Would recommend to a friend!
