Umbrella comes assembled except for the pole and the battery pack. It has the spring-loaded button you push and slide the upper and lower parts of the pole together. Easy-peezy. The solar cells for recharging the batteries are plugged into the cable on the pole and then push and twist the plastic case on to the top of the pole. The umbrella extends like most with a hand crank. It extends easily into place and provides great coverage. With the batteries installed, a small red switch on the pole turns on the LEDs. They look pretty and provide some low ambient light in the dark. The fit, finish and construction of everything seems nice so far and I would recommend this umbrella. ... show more

    • Too new to tell but…

We just received this a couple days ago so have only used it twice but so far so good. The material is very nice and well sewn. No rips or tears or ragged edges. The crank is up under the umbrella so you have to crank it while reaching up while it’s closed but all others we have had are like this. The cranking is stiff going up and down but it is corded so don’t know how you could make that easier and smoother. Our others open and close better but we can deal with that. The led lights are a nice touch and it has a matching closure with Velcro strips so very easy to keep it closed. If all stays as is I will update to five stars or downgrade if something goes wrong. ... show more

This is well made. I've had it up, in use, for several days and there have been no problems I can find. The lights work great. I find them bright enough. Other reviews say they are too dull. If they are fully charged, they provide enough accent light to illuminate the table under it. They are good lighting. they are not meant for someone to be able to read a book. The tilt function works good. I find the tilt button a little high to operate but it woks and the umbrella is still very stable. The material catches the morning dew but rolls right off and dries nicely. Only time will tell, but I'm liking this umbrella and have ordered another one. ... show more

This umbrella is beautiful. It is easy to assemble and the material is just what it looks like the umbrella has had a couple of issues with the lights going on and off and sometimes they don’t work at all. Other than that it’s an incredible umbrella I highly recommend and if your lights don’t work just sent it back and get another one till they do ... show more

The fabric fades so quickly. Do yourself a huge favor and protect it with an exterior fabric protector. I didn't do that with my first two I won't make that same mistake with the last two I just bought. Also it would be great if manufacturers of these types of umbrellas can figure out how to make adjust the fabric part instead of having to buy the entire thing all over again. It would be great just to replace the fabric and save stuff from the landfill. ... show more

Very happy that this umbrella is well made & sturdy. Opens wide & the solar lights work well. The only issue I have is that I ordered the bright blue color and I guess with the S. FL rain & summer sun it faded badly. Wondering if I will only get one season out of it??

There are a ton of options out there and after having used this for a season I am glad we settled on this product. You can spend a lot more money on other manufacturers, but we have had absolutely no problems with our shade. We are careful to collapse it in the evening so it doesn't take wind damage...but even on occasions when we did leave it up, we haven't had any problems. ... show more

I love these umbrellas… the light switch is in the pole and they are well made and pretty. My only complaint is … I had to replace last ones… I bought navy blue and they faded badly. But for the price and the lights I really like them!!
