Took longer to ship than most Amazon products. As for the value, price is competitive but considering it is basically just a plug (the actual charger is in the car), it is a high price for a bunch of wire. But that seems to be an industry wide issue of gouging.

This item works well, when it actually works. It is marketed as a 40 amp solution. However, it can only achieve this when the charger is kept very cool. It tends to overheat and shutdown quickly. In short, do not expect to charge your EV from 30% to 100% at 40 amps during the summer time. The unit will get too hot and automatically shut down. The best performance I've been able to get out of this unit has been by making sure it is never in direct sunlight when charging during the day. When charging at night, I usually set it down to between 36 to 38 amps to be on he safe side. FYI: You MUST set the amp settings in your EV. You can not set them on the charger or via app. As I mentioned earlier, I think this charger is worth the price. Granted, that you know what you're getting into when you are purchasing it.

The charger worked great on my 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime plug in. My on board charger automatically controls the amp range so it changes just fine.

Seems to be exactly what is in the ad. Plugged it in after getting the 14-50 plug run and installed and it charged my old 2015 Leaf from near dead to full in just over three hours. It shows how much time it took and how many KW it used. I think that’s fairly common among all of the basic chargers though. Relatively cheap but gave up Bluetooth and phone app. Not that big of a deal for me. Only had it for a couple of weeks but I’m happy so far.

Pros: -Got it cheaper than others -More portable than my wall unit -Has a LCD information/diagnostics screen Cons: -Cannot run as advertised amperage, not even in sub-freezing temperatures with a fan running on it -Guaranteed to fault out every time at 40A -Cannot count on your car being charged when you need it to be I feel like this is a design flaw, where a heat sink and cooling fins could have been applied to the internals, sending some heat quickly to the outside of the unit. Instead of returning it, I think I will void my warranty and see if $10 of aluminum will fix their critical flaw with this charger.

I wanted a 40 amp charger that I could use in our garage. Our new house was wired for up to 60 amp charger service. I was able to install the charger with very little difficulty. It worked immediately and it charges my Honda Clarity (49 mile charge) in less then 2 hours.

* update 8-13-21 * Recently, we've had our charging sessions interrupted partway. The connector handle gets extra warm, and the LCD screen showed "108°", which I assume is the temperature of the device or the connector. In any case, every charging session would get interrupted by this. It is no longer a reliable power source to charge our cars, and of course, it can't be returned now. Being used to having the Tesla Mobile Connector from our Model S, I was let-down by the charging unit that was included with our Kia Niro EV -- being a 120v Level 1 charger, it is completely useless to us. I used to bring along our JuiceBox 40 on long road trips, but even that is a little too big for portability. I finally found one that has a smaller form factor and can charge at reasonably high rates. This one can obviously output more kW than the Niro EV can take, but it can also be a decent charger if we needed it for our Tesla. There were plenty of chargers out there that output around 16 amp, but to us, that is still too slow if we had to use it on the Tesla. This one can be used between both the Tesla and the Kia without sacrificing rate of charge on either vehicle. The compactness of this charger fits nicely in the compartment under the back of the Kia's trunk space where the factory's charger used to go. Between the cable size of the JuiceBox 40 and this one, the BESENERGY EV Charger's cable is not much smaller, but it is more flexible than the JuiceBox. Compared to the Tesla Mobile Connector's cable, the BESENERGY EV Charger's cable is larger, but it is still very flexible. Packaging is very decent -- the flexibility of the cable allows them to package the cable into a 12" diameter coil. The LCD screen gives decent information about the charging status. I'm very impressed by this and recommend it for non-Tesla owners, as well as Tesla owners who have their Tesla adapter handy.

Charges my Tesla Model Y at a full 40 AMPs providing about 36 miles per hour of recharge speed. This means a zero range left (empty) to a full charge if charged during a single 8 hours of overnight sleep. Great product and a full 40 AMPs of current designed for 50 AMP outlets. It also works on my Porsche Cayenne E-hybrid, but that car’s battery appears to be limited to a 16 AMP charge.
