The instructions have a diagram that shows the 2 plastic bolts should be position to the right side if the longest base piece. But when you do this the umbrella notches are then off center so the umbrella doesn't open over the longest piece. If you look at the photos... The plastic bolts are to the back which then let's the umbrella open correctly. Super annoying as they clearly changed the design of the umbrella but did not update their instructions. It also arrived damaged the same pieces other show at the top cracked or warped. I reported it when I got it and they sent me another with no issues. So there is that... Once it's together it does work well. 😁 ... show more

The umbrella does what it supposed to do…give shade. It is exactly what the manufacturer said it would be. But be warned. If you live in a high wind area this umbrella sways very very easily. A small gust of wind around 15 mph can move this umbrella. Light breeze can also move it around. It does not stay stationary. The base does if you anchor it correctly. But the umbrella sways a lot. We had to anchor the umbrella itself for it to at least stay and shade where we wanted it to shade. Other then that, it’s decent. ... show more

Overall we are very happy, especially for the value...we had a small problem with a plastic connector section on base and we called customer service- they were very responsive and mailed us replacement part the next day...umbrella looks great and will hopefully last long time...

I bought this umbrella about 6 years ago, it had an x base and was a little tippy. I loved and it was time to replace the umbrella and they have updated the base. It is still a weak point for the product. I have about 100 lb of sand on it and it wants to lean, like the base is bending a little, maybe. Overall, the umbrella is a good value. I was wanting a rectangular umbrella to shade my back door, which faces due west, and gets too hot to touch in the afternoon, making it unusable. This umbrella is NOT rectangular. It also has a plastic frame, which, with the first wind gust of 10MPH cracked the retaining support (used to adjust height and angle), and we had to Gorilla tape it. It swings to and fro a lot, not keeping the shade on the door. We still use it. We just don't tilt it enough, and we don't deploy it fully, to control the swing. As long as it lasts this year, I'll try for a different one next year. Maybe an awning instead, if I can find one I can afford. ... show more
