I purchased a "dumb" genuine GM charger with my 2023 Chevy Bolt, and it turned out to be a piece of crap. The GM charger maxed out at 32A, repeatedly malfunctioned, and after a year I'd had enough. A couple of weeks ago I ordered this "smart" AVAPOW 48A EV charger, and couldn't be happier. Not only does it support 50% faster charging, but it comes with an app that allows you to control the charging rate (16A, 24A, 32A, 40A, 48A) and time. (If you don't want to use the app, there's an RFID card that you can swipe to start charging.) The charger comes with a much thicker cable than the GM charger, as well as wall mounts for the charging box and cable. Overall a far better charger, and a great value at the current price of $150.

Says that it can charge @ 48amps if connected to breaker box. Didn’t come with any equipment to install it as such.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this charger specifically for the app controls and being able to set it to charge in a timed window overnight. Unfortunately this functionality does not work at all and the support team was useless in trying to figure out why. I would not recommend this charger. While it does work fine if you want to charge on demand, the glitchyness of the app makes me worried that the quality of the item is not up to par with other products.

Excellent secure product with app to facilitate. It you are not tech savvy you may find it challenging. Charging my tesla to the perfaction, better than tesla charger.

This unit works well with a Kia EV6. While it is capable of working a 48Amp i run it at 40 amps as you are really not suppose to run a circuit at more that 80% for the length of time a full charge takes. With the app it is easy to configure the maximum charging rates. The scheduled charge works perfect to make sure that charging is only done during off peak hours. Now for the reasons I only gave a 4 star rating. 1. The directions aren't totally clear on finding the app in google play. There are a couple apps with similar names. Would be better if they provided a QR code to find the app. Once you find the app you need to register for an account or some functionality is disabled but since there is no cost, it isn't a big issue. Good or bad part of the app is the phone doesn't have to connect to wifi to configure the charger. 2. The unit doesn't have a web interface. You have to install an app on your phone to be able to configure it. Since you would normally set the parameters and not touch things having to install an app is a nuisance. 3. The RFID card is a nice feature if you are installing on an outside wall to prevent unauthorized access; however, I have inside the garage so it is more trouble than it is worth. Can't find any information on turning the need for the RFID card off. 3. The unit its self give almost no information on charge, i.e. amps completion status. It only has some colored bars that if flashing or blue vs green mean different things. Overall I'm happy with the unit.

Overall, we are happy with this charger. The price was in our price range which was important to us. The charger has a good weight to it, and it feels well made. The cables are nice and heavy and has good plugs on each end. The RFID cards are a nice addition but unneeded for us, still nice to have. I have to say for the price we could not be happier. 5 STARS
