These jump starters are not something you want to use often, but they must be dependable when needed. My battery recently failed after using low current accessories for 10 approximately minutes without the engine running. My heart sunk after hearing the dreaded clicking knowing that I was quite a distance from home. Fortunately, I had this fully charged jump starter with me, and after a quick assembly and connection to the battery the vehicle started without much effort. Keep in mind that this is a 2000A peak jumper pack and my battery was just below capacity to start my 5.4L. I'm not certain I would have the same success if my battery voltage was much lower. This jump starter does have a "force start' mode that can be activated by pressing the red button on the side of the connector for three seconds. I imagine this allows the jumper to deliver additional amperage, but if you're looking to start an SUV with a completely dead battery I would point you in the direction of the AVAPOW 6000A jump starter. This unit is nicely constructed, and the battery pack feels durable. The battery clamps are larger and heavy duty compared to competing products with similar capacity. The connector is clearly labeled to identify abnormal indications and the main LED illuminates brightly to provide the status of the jumper before and after it is connected to your vehicle's battery. Pressing the power button will illuminate the 4-LED charge indicators depending on the current battery level. Pressing the power button for three seconds will turn on the LED flashlight and repeated short presses will toggle SOS, strobe, and off modes. The USB 2.0 (2.4A) and 3.0 (3A) charging ports are nice to have in a pinch, but not something I plan to use. I suggest fully charging this unit every three months, even if it has not been used. I recommend this model for small to mid-sized vehicles but would go with their 6000A model for larger engines. ... show more

In my opinion, every vehicle should have a backup portable jump starter. I go hunting many miles away from home in a secluded area, so getting an emergency jump is not easy; having a portable jump starter is a no brainer. This AVAPOW portable jump starter has intelligent safety protection, and it can also be used as a power bank with dual USB quick charge capability for charging cell phones, etc. It also has an LED light for continuous, flash and SOS lighting. It comes with a Quick Reference Guide that makes the unit easy to hook up and use. There are much more powerful portable jump starters that are much more expensive, but this AVAPOW is at fraction of the cost and does the job. Out of the box this jump starter came over 75% charged. It took over 2 hours to charge up to 100%, when using a 5V USB charger. It’s amazing that a 5V charger can charge this device. I did not have any vehicles that needed a jump, but my 12V riding lawnmower needed a jump. So, I tested this portable jump starter on my lawnmower. With no issues whatsoever, my lawnmower started right up. This portable jump starter is like my portable emergency electric generator, you hope you never need to use it, but you are prepared to do so when needed.     • Small but mighty
I was honestly skeptical about this after seeing how small and light it is. I have a truck that sees a lot less use compared to my daily driver, and the battery frequently gets drained to the point where I can't start it without a jump. I waited for such a time in order to try this out. I plugged the cables into the base unit, hooked it up to the battery, and the truck fired right up. It seemed to have even more power than the larger jump pack I typically use! I don't plan to use the other features often, though having a flashlight and USB power bank on hand is never a bad thing. I would have liked this to be all one unit instead of having to plug the pod into the battery, but it's still quick and easy to set up. For me this booster box performs exceptionally well and the lithium Ion powered pack is sufficiently designed to store and discharge 2000 Amps with12 volts of energy for longer periods of time in one full charge and because of its lightweight and compactness is easy to store away in my car. Also, this booster power box is easy to use and equipped with 2 USB ports for charging my devices and 3 modes LED lighting that I can use in case of emergencies which is cool fitting all that assistance in such a small case. LOL. This particular battery power booster has intelligent safety protection technology for instance, reverse polarity protection with short circuit protection just to name a few and is great for quick start ups when I am found on the road with a dead battery. I like the storage case because it helps me keep the power pack organized with all the parts in one place and not scattered throughout my garage.
