I bought this because I occasionally suffer from periods of acid reflux and my old wedge pillow was too small and hard and uncomfortable. The photos shows my new one on the left, and my smaller old one on the right so you can see the difference. My old one was too short so it was not under my lower back at all so there was no support. I was constantly pulling it down lower but then my head would hang off the top. This new pillow is long enough that it is under my hips. I am 5'4" and its perfect. The memory foam is soft and comfortable and supportive. Not hard as a rock. And the wavy contour is perfect for shoulders and neck. The cover is soft and comfy and the underside feels like suede so it does not slip around on your sheet. I love this wedge so much. Highly recommend. I can even sleep on my side. I added a tiny infant pillow to it a few days later from amazon and it made it even more comfy if thats even possible!

I bought this product to deal with my reflux. This product was the closest I could find to the wedge my doctor recommended which is no longer available. It is annoying to have to sleep with one of these things since I like to sleep on a tiny, almost flat pillow. I have no real symptoms, I learned of the reflux when I had an endoscopy, so I am not very motivated and can't really tell if I am getting "better". But I don't want to take chances with my health. I also chose this product because I like to sleep on my sides in addition to my back and I liked the longer length of it - my head is elevated without sleeping on something that is more appropriate for reading or watching TV in bed, where you are almost upright. It is very comfortable. I'm only minimally aware that I'm sleeping on a wedge. I am comfortable on my sides and on my back. I am about 5' tall and I cannot tell where the wedge ends and the bed begins. I use a pillow on the wedge and sometimes I use a pillow between my legs and also behind my back - I am still experimenting with the pillows. I don't have any problems rolling off the sides of the wedge - but I am small and don't move much in my sleep. It seems cool enough, but I get cold during the night so this is not really an issue for me. I do think that I slide down during the night, in fact, I don't really even start off very high up the wedge - another thing I am kind of experimenting with - but as i said, I am very short so I still get some elevation. I am as pleased with this product as I can be, and considering the fact that I don't really want to use a wedge in the first place, I am happy with my purchase. It does what it is supposed to do and does it well. I also am not happy about having this big thing in the middle of my bed - it is hard to arrange my bed and decorative pillows to look attractive and this is important to me - First World Country Problem - LOL!

I bought this to help with my night time acid reflux and I wasn't disappointed. It really helps. However, it is definitely going to take some time to get used to it. I have used it for a few nights and still haven't found a completely comfortable sleeping position. The wedge itself is firm without being hard, so it isn't that and the shoulder groove works great. I just need to swap out my other pillow for something much more squishy than my normal foam pillows. I would say if you have acid reflux, it is definitely worth trying this pillow, BUT be prepared for an adjustment period as you get used to sleeping on it.

I was recently diagnosed with GERD and needed an edge pillow to help me sleep better. I looked through a lot but this one being contoured stood out. I was using pillows before this, and this is way more comfortable than a bunch of pillows piled up behind me. It’s still weird to try to sleep with it though, especially since I’m a side sleeper. The top bump does help to keep the pillow in place but I still wake up in the middle of the night because I’ve slid down and my head is sideways from the angle. I honestly don’t think there’s a way to fix this so I’ll just have to learn how to not move. The cover is very soft but nothing about the foam or cover is cooling and I wake up sweating. I got it before work and took it out of its case to allow for full expansion while I was gone all day. It fully expanded but it was almost too big for the case. So far I really like it (don’t like the price though) and will probably look for a contoured pillow to use with it.

I was advised by a gastroenterologist to get a bed edge to control my acid reflux and I choose Avana contoured bed vedge. The first 7-8 nights I foraged myself to sleep on it, be cause I woke up with Neck and back pain. I was hoping that my body eventually will get used to it. After 2 weeks of sleeping on it I felt like I'm torturing myself. I sopped using it and it took another week to get reed of neck and back pain. After that experience I sent email to the Company explaining my concerns about the product and get the advice how i can send it back, since I can not sock out the air to squeeze it in to small box how I've received it. Unfortunately I did not receive any respond from them and I just gave up and put the wedge in my storage room. Today I received the request for feedback and this is my experience.

PROS: – Longer than most wedges, which makes the angle more gradual and keeps your spine straighter – Very stable and firm for a back sleeper (too firm for my taste though) CONS: – Not cooling at all; regular hot memory foam – As a side sleeper, I found it too firm – The contours are weird to me; you have to lie on it exactly right – Only comes is one ugly beige color that doesn't go with my bedroom

Bought as a Christmas gift for my husband to replace the old one I’d gotten him a number of years ago. He loved the old one, also Avana, but it was looking icky, so I wanted it replaced. This one is quite a bit longer and has the contours so I was nervous about his reaction. It took a day or two for him to adjust but he is enjoying his new pillow. Looks to be of a similar good quality and firmness, and I expect it to last a while like the previous one did. These pillows really do work miracles for anyone suffering from waking in the night with acid reflux.
