Give it time! Memory foam has fibers that need to be broken in. The more you use it the softer it will become. I took the insert out immediately, 1st few nights I did wake up with neck pain. What I did after that was every morning when I woke I put a blanket over it and placed a duffle bag with about 30lbs evenly distributed. That 1st night doing that I slept amazingly. I’ve been doing this every day since and it’s about completely broken in. I wouldn’t describe it as uncomfortable, rather it’s unusual for someone that is used to a flat pillow (side sleeper). I am not tossing around all night, I wake up refreshed. I can’t seem to get my head in the center, short neck maybe so I sleep a little lower down. Side note, I listen to music every night before bed with my headphones on. Laying on my back this feels incredibly comfortable.

I tried this pillow for the first time last night. First let me give you some background on me and my sleeping habits. I am a primarily a side sleeper we have a higher end Sleep Number bed. I am 75 years old, 5'9" average weight male. I cannot remember the last time I have gotten up in the morning without any lower back pain. In fact, I have been blaming the bed and was thinking about spending $3K on a new bed. Last week I saw an ad on social media for these types of pillows and thought for under $50 I should try one before I buy a new bed. This morning, after the first night sleeping on this pillow, I woke up with no lower back pain for the first time I can remember. I did think the pillow was a little high for me, so I have removed the insert to see how it is tonight. Only time will tell if this pillow fixes my pain issues, but for now I am glad $50 may have saved me from spending another $3K on a new bed. ***Update*** After using this pillow for 4 weeks, it is still the best pillow I ever slept on. Not one morning have I woken up with a sore neck or back. I now sleep better and longer without waking up several times to reposition myself, I am even sleeping through my Wife's snoring.

This pillow is AMAZING!! I've always slept on 2 or 3 pillows until a couple of months ago, when my neck really started to hurt. I couldn't look up or to the right. After finally figuring out that it has to be the number of pillows I sleep with (it took me a while because I've always slept with a number of pillows), I changed to only sleeping with 2 flatter pillows. It got better each day, and then all of a sudden, the pain came back. I looked into cervical pillows. I've had this pillow for 6 days and the pain is almost totally gone. I was worried that I wouldn't be comfortable sleeping with only 1 pillow, but this pillow is so comfortable it doesn't bother me at all.

I let this pillow sit and expand per directions for a full 24-48 hours. I did go the full 48. OMG!!! What a wonderful pillow! I did not wake up to a stiff neck this morning! I feel like I can finally get rid of my overpriced Dough pillow that only lasted a year. So pros: actually comfortable as a back and sometimes side sleeper. I feel like it transitions well without the need to fold my pillow. Mine was comfortable right off the bat. I think I fell asleep faster? But my previous pillow was pretty sad so the bar was set low. Cons- it does sleep hot. As well as the size feels small. I have no idea how this could possibly be a queen. Standard maybe? Definitely not a queen. I feel if it was just a few more inches wide the arm layer would be more conducive to my position. Both issues can be dealt with. I can obtain a cooking material pillow case. Based on first night use, the size didn't affect my comfort per say. I feel bad taking a star off. But I DO think the size is misrepresented. I will update if it breaks down sooner than expected. As memory foam tends to do.

I ordered this pillow, thinking "what an odd shape" and not caring whether or not it was "cooling": all I wanted was to wake up in the morning without my neck really hurting. The physical therapist said my neck was like a block of wood, so hard and painful to move in any direction. I liked that I would be able to remove some foam if I needed it to be more shallow. I slept on it the first night, and was amazed to have absolutely no neck discomfort in the morning. I never leave reviews. If a product is bad I send it back, if I like it I keep it. This pillow merits a great review and I feel relieved about owning it. It's built well, and it doesn't matter what color it is as long as it works. I use a silk pillowcase so I don't need to wash the case. I would not think of traveling without it. Hard to believe, but true: 1 night!

Literally best pillow I’ve ever had. For my entire life I’ve needed at least 2 pillows but I’ve had this pillow since March and have had great sleep since (not including my preexisting insomnia) Also great if you have a shoulder injury. Ripped a tendon in my left shoulder like 13 years ago after a circus accident and would flare all the time because I didn’t have the right suppport when I slept. After getting this pillow, it almost NEVER flares anymore it’s fantastic! Seriously, I will never buy another pillow again unless it’s this one.

Initial impression is 'huh'. It's kinda cool and is unusual in it's design, but the jury is out as to whether it will function as well as described. First thought is that it is smaller than it should be. Why? Because as a side sleeper, male, 200 lbs, I find it comfy for my head but difficult to have my arms where they show them in the photos. If it were bigger I think the concept would work for me, but as of now, that's my initial though about the size. Woke up this morning without neck pain though, but it looked like it was nearly smashed into 3/4 the size it was when I went to bed last night! It did fit inside a standard pillow case very easily however (because it's so small, I reckon), and after a few nights my wife will try it to see what she thinks. I plan to update this review if they let me, after having it for awhile. So far, it's just 'meh'.
