I purchased the “opened box” and it works great. The only thing is it didn’t come with directions. Originally I thought the air chambers had a hole somewhere because it kept setting off the low air alarm. I finally figured out there were 3 plugs not in place. It had a red tag saying “CPR “ for the 3 plugs. I finally figured out it was in case of an emergency and you need to deflate the air mattress quickly. It made perfect sense but because I do not have a medical background, I had no idea to look for that on the mattress. Other than that I’m very pleased.

This pad did not work and the wound got worse. I called the company. They told me that the pump may not be working and they told me to call Amazon which I am going to do. The pad looks very professional heavy duty but the pressure was not alternating as it should every 6 minutes. The pad stayed hard. That is a big problem for the patient who can not move well in bed. The bladders are suppose to alternate the pressure. This pad made the wound worse. I replaced it with a less expensive type of mattresses. The wound is doing better now. This of course is an important part of the healing process. Special patches and ointments used with extreme care. The pad is suppose to aid in the healing process. I was very disappointed with this unit.

This mattress is designed to prevent bed sores and more. We purchased this for my 91 year old mother to give her a better night's sleep while also preventing sores. From the first night she used it, she has loved it. We did have to let out some of the air after that first night because when fully inflated, it adds about five inches in height to her already high mattress and boxsprings. She almost fell out of bed that first night, but said she still slept comfortably. After letting out some of the air in the mattress on the second night, my mother slept soundly and comfortably. She had one sore when we purchased the mattress -- it is almost healed and no other sores have come up. We like that this one has a machine washable cover. Delivery was fast and everything in the box is as advertised.

We purchased a used homecare bed because the hospital bed our mother was using downstairs was too heavy to move upstairs. Even though we used the same mattress and alternating pressure mattress pad from the hospital bed, she still began to develop a bed sore. She never had a bed sore while sleeping on the hospital bed. The new bed was not supportive enough and we could see her constantly sinking towards the middle of the bed. Now that we replaced the mattress and the pad with this one, there is no more sinking. It is strong enough to keep her level in the bed and the bed sore is almost completely healed. It operates very quietly ( much more so that the previous mattress pad), set up is easy and it does a good job of staying in place on the mattress. I definitely recommend this alternating pressure mattress air topper pad!

Perfect! I purchased this for my incapacitated mother. She had a bed sore that would make it all the way to healing but never scab over. This was my savior! I was concerned about the noise since I am a very light sleeper and her room is next to mine. Absolutely can’t hear a thing, even when standing next to the machine. Mother loves it and says it feels great. It also, helps me with her turns when changing as well. So this air mattress wins! It’s a good price, good quality, quiet, helps the patient, helps the care giver and easy to clean. I can’t think of anything more to ask for from this mattress.

Before we got are air mattress, we struggled with bed sores. While he was in the hospital once and they used one and all his sores were healed. I tried to go through insurance with no luck. I decided to purchase one for my Daddy. Believe me, it was well worth the investment. Anyone who is bedridden NEEDS ONE OF THESE!!! It is a terrible thing that the insurance won't pay for one unless my Daddy had a severe case of bedsores. In this case, the cost was far outweighed by the fact that my Daddy doesn't get bed sores any longer.. Thank you and God Bless.
