I ordered these bags knowing they weren’t specifically meant for either of my automatic litter boxes. They’re larger and cheaper than the proper bags but I figured they might work in my Globe G1 automatic litter box. They work okay. Obviously, being bigger, they have excess plastic that needs to be tucked it. Yet, they are no more difficult to use than the official bags. Once tucked it and with the bin slotted in place, they don’t show at all so everything looks nice as normal. The thickness of the plastic is the same as is the strength of the drawstrings. There isn’t any effective increase in capacity since the bin determined that not the bag, but savings and better availability make these bags a good alternative. ... show more

We’ve got four cats, ranging from 8 to 16 pounds, so I’d been eyeing automatic litter boxes for a while—but I was worried the auto-clean feature might spook them into avoiding the box altogether. I tried a couple of other brands, but they either didn’t work straight out of the box or crapped out within the first month. This Ellenpent unit, though? It came almost fully assembled, fits my 16-pounder with room to spare, cycles slowly enough that it doesn’t freak the cats out, looks nice tucked into a corner of the room, and the app makes it super easy to control. I did hit a snag during the initial weight calibration—there’s a two-factor check to make sure your cat isn’t inside when the clean cycle starts (it uses both weight sensors and an optical beam across the entrance). But EllenPent’s support got back to me fast, and we fixed it by just uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my phone. Size-wise, the box is great. My biggest cat jumped right in as soon as I set it up—before I even added litter, he was sitting in there like it was his new fort. I’ve even caught one of my smaller cats just lounging inside. The entrance is nice and wide, so no awkward squeezing, and the step is sturdy—a smart touch. I haven’t noticed any litter sticking to the walls, either. Noise? Barely a whisper. Honestly, I hear the litter tumbling around more than I hear the motor. I did have to tweak the clump delay to get a good separation between clean and used litter—I set mine to 7 minutes, and that does the trick. It’s also easy on the eyes—way less of an eyesore in the living room than I expected. And odor? Pretty much nonexistent. There’s this clever little scent cartridge that sits in a side compartment with a small fan, and you can program it to run for a bit after each use. As for controls, the box itself keeps it simple: just two buttons. One kicks off a clean cycle (or a full litter dump when you’re doing a deep clean) and also lights up when the waste bin is full. The other is a wireless indicator for the initial app pairing—everything else lives in the app, where you can pick your litter type, adjust clump time, set how long the deodorizing fan runs, trigger a remote clean, or schedule "sleep hours" so it doesn’t cycle at night. All in all, I’m really happy with it—it’s made a huge dent in the never-ending chore of scooping. In fact, I already bought a second one for my college-aged daughter, who shares a small apartment with her cat and three roommates. Fingers crossed it saves them the same hassle.
