The media could not be loaded. We bought this automatic litter box to replace our covered litter boxes, which had basically turned into one of those open ones since our cats hated the flap door. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in the smell in that area of the house. I was a little worried at first because the litter we use is on the finer side, and I thought it might get into the crevices and cause jamming. Thankfully, that hasn’t been an issue at all. It cleans pretty well, and we didn’t have to switch litter types. The box takes about a minute to run after one of our cats uses it, and it’s not too loud (id say the volume is on the same level as a dish washer). One unexpected benefit has been for our male cat. His sister doesn’t always cover her business, and he gotten used to following after her to cover it up. We watched closely during the first few days because he did try to jump in out of habit, but the machine stopped immediately, which was reassuring. After a few days, he still follows her to the box, mostly to make sure the waste is removed, but he no longer jumps in to try to cover it himself. Both cats were very curious and had no trouble transitioning. We have two cats, and the waste bin is more than large enough. For the first week, we kept our other litter boxes available, but they clearly preferred the automatic one, so we eventually removed the others. Emptying the bin about once a week has been plenty for us. Setting it up was really easy and took less than 10 minutes. The only confusing part was that some reflective tape was included in the box, but there were no instructions explaining what it was for. The litter mat it came with was a bit small, but that wasn’t an issue for us since we kept our old one, and litter tracking hasn’t been too bad. The health-tracking app has also been a great feature, especially given our male cat’s history with UTIs.

I had one of these before, but it was an absolute nightmare to clean, and I eventually had to get rid of it, so when this one said it was easy to clean, I figured I'd give automatic boxes another chance. Its really well packaged and the assembly instructions were easy to follow. I would recommend having someone help simply because its a little awkward to juggle the pieces and make sure they're lining up correctly. You can do it without help, I did, but I wished someone had been around to just hold things steady. It's got a fairly small footprint for what it is, and I love that the litter receptacle is on the bottom making the emptying cycle a simple spin and dump process which lessens the chance of large clumps getting stuck in some complicated chute. Its also fairly quiet when it runs, not much louder than my large freezer when its running, and the loudest part is the last 2 seconds when it levels the litter. For actual use, you need to realize it will take the cats a long time to get used to it. I can swap out normal litterboxes with no problems; open, covered, top-opening and even a "furniture" style one only took my cats a day or so to get used to and use. This took a good week and then some for one cat to use it, and even that's not with any regularity. Also, I say one cat, but that's an assumption because I can't definitively tell which cat is using it, which is my first beef. The description says "health monitoring" which I assume means weight, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the weight of the cat using the box. My other one had it, but I don't see anything in the app for this one so I have no way of telling which cat is using it. I assume its the little 8lb cat, because my 15lb cat, who did use the old one, refuses to use this one. When I set it up, I grabbed each cat and put them in it so they know where and what it is, and she barely fit. Twice I've seen her stick her front half in, then back out and go to the normal box. My male cat, who's 11.5 lbs, physically fit, but he doesn't seem to like the automatic boxes in general and doesn't use it. From the use it has gotten, the trash bin is very easy to empty, there is no noticeable odor, even if the bin isn't emptied daily, and cleaning the actual part the cat uses is very easy to clean.

My cat is constantly getting PILES of cat litter out of the box. When she moves the litter around the litter goes out through the opening. The more selective she is, the larger the litter mess on the floor. We are going to return to her old cat box method and get rid of this one. The unit works well, is rather quiet, and easy to lean. We have no other complaint about this product.
