**Quick Setup/Troubleshooting TL;DR:** * Fill litter to at least the minimum line, but don't overfill. * Make sure the waste tray is fully seated and no warning icons are showing. * Connect the app and calibrate the weight sensor. * Leave the cloth pad installed. It's supposed to be there. * Use a compatible clumping litter. * If it's on carpet and acting weird, move it or put a firm board underneath it. * Don't put the litter mat or anything else under the unit. * Recalibrate if you move it. Most issues seem to come down to setup, litter choice, or the weight sensor not sitting on a stable surface. As for my personal experience with this unit, and my review: A lot of the negative reviews seem to come from people either misunderstanding how the product works or, in some cases making claims that don't match my personal experience with the litter box. One reviewer called this a "cat crusher". The unit has multiple safety systems. Both weight and motion sensor. It will not begin a cleaning cycle if it detects a cat inside, and it immediately stops if the sensor is triggered during operation. I've even seen it pause when waste shifted during a cleaning cycle that stacked high enough to be in line of sight of the hole where the small chances could occur that a curious cat might try to crawl into. If you're still concerned there's a kitten mode that disables automatic cleaning entirely so the user can push the cleaning mode button to make it dump the waste while under the humans supervision. Another complaint was that it supposedly dumped large amounts of clean litter into the waste bin. I haven't experienced that at all. The design separates clumped waste from loose litter with the waste falling into the collection drawer below. In theory very little clean litter should make it into the bin. I'd guess the issue is related to litter type or clumps breaking apart during the cleaning process. I've only used one brand of litter so results may vary depending on what you're using. One thing worth mentioning is that this unit isn't recommended to be used on carpet but in my experience it can work but the weight sensor may become less accurate if the rug is thick or heavily cushioned. Some reviewers claim the unit doesn't function properly, and my best guess is they had it on a carpet that was soft/springy. For best results place it on a solid floor. If you place it on a rug make sure to use the app, and go through the weight calibration as that fixed it when I set it up on my carpet. It also includes a litter-trapping mat which is a nice bonus. I liked this litter box enough that I bought a second one. With three cats it was difficult to keep up with manual scooping, and waste would build up faster than I'd like. Since switching to these units my cats paws stay much cleaner and the boxes remain consistently usable. One of my cats is also using the litter box more frequently now that it's kept clean throughout the day. Cats may be cautious around it at first but mine adjusted quickly and seem to prefer it. My biggest criticism is the entry design. I think it should have a two-step entrance instead of a single step. Cats currently have to make a bit of a jump to get in which could be difficult for elderly, injured, or mobility-limited cats. A second step would make the design much more accessible. The unit also includes an optional air vent attachment. Personally I haven't found much need for it. With a good litter and the way the waste drawer is sealed odor control is already quite good. When it's time to empty the waste bin the bag's use drawstrings that allow you to seal it quickly and cleanly. If you have a setup where venting makes sense it's nice to have the option but for most people I don't think it's necessary. ... show more

This model gets stuck all the time it also does not control the smell like the enclosed version. I would not buy this model. It is the stinkiest litter box i have ever owned. We literally threw it out.

I have multiple cats, and this automatic litter box has made my daily routine so much easier! I love that it cleans itself and helps control odors. The app is a great bonus because I can monitor their litter box activity, and I really appreciate the safety sensors for extra peace of mind. If you're a fellow cat servant, then you already know that cleaning the litter box is one of the least glamorous parts of the job. You finally get everything spotless, only to wonder the very next day how it's even possible for cats to produce that much. And we've all had that moment where you walk into the litter room right after one of them has gone and the smell stops you in your tracks. I've tried another brand of automatic litter box before, and it ended up being a very expensive disappointment. These, however, have exceeded my expectations. The app is easy to use and gives you a surprising amount of control. You can run the ventilation whenever you want, adjust how long the unit waits after your cat finishes before cleaning, and emptying the waste is quick and simple. As an added bonus, they actually use less litter because waste isn't sitting there for long periods. The only improvements I'd suggest are with the accessories. The step-style litter catchers should clip onto the legs or attach to the unit somehow because they slide around too easily. Also, the included litter mats are very slippery and can become a slipping hazard. Higher-quality, non-slip mats would make a big difference. Those are minor complaints compared to how well these litter boxes perform. Overall, they've been reliable, convenient, and have made one of the worst household chores much easier. I purchased this litter box when it had better reviews thinking it would be a good litter robot. This litter box gets stuck on lock and does not automatically rotate. I have to go hold the button down to unlock it daily, just so the litter box will roll. Even when the litter box rolls back, sometimes the robot does not roll back forward with me hitting every button to find out how to get it to roll back forward. Also, cat pee somehow manages to fall through onto the floor and pool on the bottom of the machine. Im not understanding. I asked for a refund since I want to buy a different product but they want me to send the dirty litter box back with a label? Thats wild. But I dont want to have my money waisted by throwing the litter box out after only have it for 2-3 weeks since I paid $200 for it. I do not recommend purchasing this product. ... show more
