It works perfect and it actually opens horizontal and I think that is safer. It is equipped with a anti pinch feature so it won't close on the chickens foot or anything like that. It can be charged by solar power in the day as long as the sun is shining. It can also be charged with a cord to. It is very easy to install. It is also very sturdy and it has a timer on it and you can set it to open at a certain time in the morning and close at a certain time in the evening. It can also be opened with a remote that comes with it too. I think this is the best investment I have ever bought for my chickens because it has saved me time and it has made it to where I didn't have to go let the chickens out every morning and put them up at night. My chickens even love it.

This automatic chicken door has been a game changer for us! It was easy to install and works exactly as described. The timer/light sensor makes it so convenient I don’t have to worry about being home right at dusk to close the coop anymore. The door opens and closes smoothly, and it feels sturdy and secure, keeping predators out at night. And was easy to put together. Great price as well. It’s also held up well in different weather conditions and the battery life is great. My chickens learned quickly, (the same day) and now they go in and out with no problems. Overall, it has given me peace of mind and saved me a lot of time and worrying . Highly recommend to any chicken owner!

I recently purchased this automatic chicken door, and overall, my experience has been okay. When it arrived, I noticed that it was defective upon delivery, which was disappointing. Thankfully, my husband was able to fix the issue pretty easily, so we didn't have to return it. One thing I noticed is that the door doesn't seal tightly when closed. It might benefit from a weather seal where the doors meet to prevent any drafts or unwanted access. On a positive note, it's solar powered, and it can also be charged via USB, which adds versatility. Overall, it has potential, but a few improvements would make it even better. I can not comment on battery life at this time as we have only had it installed and working for a couple of days. So far, the open and close on the timer setting has worked as it should.
