It arrived on time and in good condition. The packaging was amazing. Very well protected during shipping. Install instructions were well done. Had electrician do the hardwiring. I loaded the app and it connected with bluetooth. I would encourage everyone to update the firmware before you try to charge. I hooked it up to my home wifi and happy days. I recently acquired a PHEV. It came with a 120V only charger. My commute is about 60 miles round trip and so I was looking to get the most out of my vehicle by being able to charge it to full overnight. I was looking at a variety of these level 2 charges during prime day to get the best combination of features and value. The Maxi Charger was always on my radar. I had narrowed down to a few other discounted chargers, but the final decision maker was actually the app. I highly encourage anyone debating which level 2 charger to get to check on the app the charger uses. Surprisingly a lot of them are rated very poorly. After receiving the charger I realized that I was unable to mount it to a stud due to the location of my plug. They do include anchors that appear to be for drywall but, airing on the side of caution, I opted to get some toggle bolts to mount the unit to drywall. Once I got them, installation took all of 10 min of my time (though I did get my wife's help holding the plug pigtail when lining up where to mount it). The detached holster is nice for my needs as well and was simple to mount. The charger works perfectly to charge my vehicle overnight and the app has satisfactory performance in scheduling and monitoring of charging. As a note, I have not been able to test the full capabilities of this charger since my vehicle maxes out at 3.6kW charging (16 amp). ... show more

We had an issue with our charger staying grounded after the Amazon return window. I contacted Autel and they attempted to diagnose from their side. When we couldn’t fix it the mailed me a new one no questions asked. Great and prompt service. The new one is working great

Only running 28 Amps on a 30 Amp breaker for safety. I love that you're able to control the amperage from the app. It's working great and charges within a very reasonable timeframe for a home charger. I recommend you figure out a NEMA 6-50 setup just based on a lot of things I've read about EV charging. ... show more

Update****** 06/05/2023 Autels customer support team reached out to me and was very concerned with what happened and were very apologetic about the situation. They are sending me a brand new unit to replace the other one just in case. I appreciate how fast and honestly caring they’ve been. I stand by my decision to purchase as they have made this situation right. I bought this product 07/13/2022 and had it professionally installed by a licensed electrician, our house is only a year old. I read all the reviews and aside from the customer service reviews the product seemed soiled. It’s worked great, charges fast, never once threw and error. I had my 2022 ID.4 plugged in all night last night 06/02/2023 and today 06/03/2023 I unplugged it to plug in our 2021 Mustang Mach E, not 30 seconds after I plugged the car in I heard a crackling and sizzling sound, frantically I unplugged the charger from the car and threw it on the ground, ran outside and shut the break off for the EV outlet. After inspecting the plug, outwardly it wasn’t to noticeable, I tried unplugging it and it was stuck. After a bit of tugging it came out and looked like that. I was flabbergasted. I called the electrician and showed him the pictures and he was shocked too. I called Autel and the customer service representative took my information and is apparently escalating it for review. Hopefully they make it right but also like wtf 😳 how does that happen. ... show more

After using this charger for nearly a year with no problems the charger quit working for an unknown reason. After contacting customer support the matter was escalated to tech support and after confirming online that the unit had failed they overnighted me a new charger and I was back to charging in less than a week, great support and service!! ... show more

The product installed easily and mobile features work well. Unfortunately, support does not seem to know about the more technical aspects of the product. I asked support about a listed connectivity feature - RS485. Though the response was quick, they were not able to answer my question about this features use. Two different support reps contacted me, I gave the same information to both. Neither could tell me for certain what I could do with this connectivity (I wanted to connect a datalogger via Modbus or whatever protocol may have been used, to independently record and store data) and neither offered any documentation that would let me figure this out on my own. And after being told they would check it out, I never heard back them. As far as the wish list - I wish that I could set the charge current level remotely and/or programmatically instead of having to remove two covers to get to the switch. Having this capability is important when trying to automatically balance a home’s solar production and usage (ie. trying to minimize grid usage automatically, instead of manually). Overall, the product is good and close to being a 5 star. But if they are going to advertise a feature, it is important that support has the knowledge to answer questions about that feature with expertise instead of speculation.
