As a mechanic I know Autel is the go-to top name in automotive diagnostics. I've used many of their products and they are reliable and thorough. I've seen some not so great reviews on this product but I think those people did not read about exactly what it was and the capabilities of this scan dongle. I got this for my wife's car that can just be left in the car. As she travels she can use a standalone app to bring up data or any check engine codes and send them to me and I can tell her if it's something important or can wait till she gets back home. It works seamlessly with my alltel high-end pro grade scan tools and is very capable and easy to use if she needed to use it on the side of the road. Glad to see y'all tell finally come out with something at the basic do it yourself level.

Review of Autel MaxiAP AP2500E Scan Tool ⭐☆☆☆☆ I purchased this tool because it was advertised to work with Maserati vehicles, which sounded promising. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing: Setup Issues: The app couldn't scan the QR code, and the serial number was incorrect. This indicates poor quality control in the manufacturing process. Privacy Concerns: It requested unnecessary personal contact information, which I declined to provide. A scan tool should not need this to function. Connection Problems: Despite pairing it with my car and phone, it failed to connect and perform its intended purpose. Ultimately, this tool was completely useless for me. Additionally, the request for personal information raised concerns about potential data collection. I urge caution to others considering this product.

This unit was bought to be a handy portable scanner that I could keep in the vehicle while traveling. I like that you link it to your phone and it stays up to date that way. Simple to download the app, easy to Bluetooth to the device and works well. This is a great option for the home owner who works on his own vehicle or the hobby mechanic who isn’t ready to spend the money for the more expensive scanners.

I purchased this tool to use when I didn’t have my bigger scanner handy and coming from autel I expected a lot. I almost gave it 4 stars because they lock some features behind a paywall but this isn't really a bad thing. This to me meant it has more powerful features available. And for a tiny Bluetooth adapter this might be a good thing. The interface is a little annoying as they offer more tools useable with the same app. You have to choose options in the main menu making a little annoying to scroll through every time. It did most things I needed it for as is but I might consider paying the extra amount in the future but I have other tools to my heavy lifting anyway. Autel has a good little tool on their hands so i guess it’s worth it. I does do what I bought it for.

It painful to use. I own 17 scan tools from a Snap on Zeus to Chrysler WiTech, this paticular Autel is unusable. Requires a reset before every use. It's Groundhog Day to get it going, like just out of the box Groundhog Day. Before each use, VIN scanning is required, but the Vin Scanner hasn't worked on a single vehicle. It's almost impossible to use. After a 10-minute re-setup, it does function. Just be prepared to do this with each use. If you are stuck on a desert island, it's better than nothing and would aid in alleviating boredom

This is a great scanner for the DIY er in your life! Diagnose your own vehicle and save hundreds of dollars! I use this whenever I have an issue with my Chevy Silverado. You can scan live data, reset engine light, check system readiness in case you need to pass emissions, etc. It’s nice and small, I just keep it on my glove box!
