Launch is a major competitor in the low cost scanner territory. I typically use another brand of scanner that also makes drones so the interface and how some menus are laid out are different but it seems to function the same. It has expanded support for the battery module and the tpms module but I havent added those yet. The auto VIN feature is hit or miss on the annoyance level. It works but the slot machine noise gets old when its been running for a little bit. Touchscreen is clear and responsive, with tactile buttons you can use as a backup. I did see a camera built in too, havent tried that yet though. The blow mold case is a very good quality. For some that may not matter but I make sure to put my scanners back in their cases for the best protection while theyre not being used. If you need a solid Bi-directional scanner at a reasonable price then this is a good choice. ... show more

I liked the multiple ways you can connect with auto scan for quick diagnostics or going to the gm obd 2 protocol and doing a deep dive with graphing live data. Battery life so far has been great and was able to do a deep scan health report and find codes my smaller budget hand held couldn’t. 5 stars for this scanner as it truly is the only tool you need to start with ... show more

I bought this 9 months ago. I charged And put back in the storage case and stored in my home. I needed it and I wanted to fully charge before using. It would not charge nor would it function properly. It would not scan the car. I tried on another vehicle it would not read any of the four vehicles!!! I contact Amazon and they (Amazon) per seller (launchDirect) issue a prorated refund for $75 difference. I had to pay a restocking fee for a defected (broken) item that I had to return and never used. This is the first time I ever had to return an item and ask for a refund. Neither the seller nor Amazon would return the $75 difference. SO BEFORE PURCHASING MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THEIR RETURN POLICY!!!!!!!! ... show more

I have used different manufacturers as well as new cars, like Ford, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and Mazda. So far everything has worked fine. The Launch CRP919x scan tool helped me to access all systems and modules,such as Engine, Transmission, ABS, Body control module, TPMS, and others to find the underlying car problems. Resolve the most issues quicker than old-school tools, I love the live data layout on this scanner, and the bi-directional controls on almost all vehicles are great. Also it is able to reflash most modules, I tried the ECU coding function to deactivate the annoying Start/Stop function on my Ford Escape, and to my surprise, it succeeded without any effort ... show more
