I purchased the Autel IM608 to program keys, and to act as my primary scan tool at both my full-time fleet job, and my side business. When it first arrived I was extremely impressed with its build quality and feel, and the intuitiveness of the software. I was able to set up an account, and access all the available updates within about ten minutes. Then I tried it out on both my personal cars and was very happy with how easy it was to access all the different modules, and how quickly it communicated with the vehicles. I'm used to using the Chrysler/FCA wiTech factory scan tool, and the Autel IM608 emulates it almost perfectly. I also use the Ford IDS scan tool, and for anyone who uses that you know how much of a pile of junk it is. The Autel IM608 takes all the Ford parameters and repackages them into a much easier to view and use system. What used to take me twenty minutes on the Ford IDS now takes me about five on the IM608, simply because it's much more intuitive and descriptive. While I have not yet needed to program a key, I did test out the PIN retrieval feature for my Dodge truck. The Autel IM608 immediately read the PIN code from the SKIM module. It also successfully read the security codes for a number of Ford trucks I have at work. The customer data page is also fantastic. I've input my personal customers onto the tool, and it recognizes their vehicles and saves the data sessions to their personal files. I can also take photographs of their cars for liability protection, and add notes and comments. The Android operating system is quick and responsive, even if it is an older version. But let's be honest, you don't need the latest Android version for a purpose-built tool. You just need what works, and this does that very well. It comes with a browser for checking YouTube and the online forums for solutions to problems while you're actually in the car, a photo browser, a file manager, and even a hex editor if you need to really go into a software flash and do some manual editing. I have not yet tried to use the IM608 to flash update modules. I'm not sure how well that will work, because all the screens I've been able to access so far just show options for European parts, or specific module manufacturers like Bosch. Software updates to the actual diagnostic and immobilizer applications are very frequent. It seems like Autel is releasing them almost on a monthly basis, and they are usually up to date to at least the last year's model. One little quirk is that you can't just download what you need, you have to download them all. So you'll have software for Chinese market vehicles even though you may just work on Chevy trucks in Wisconsin. Not a deal breaker at all, but it will eat up some storage space and bandwidth. One thing that is a problem is that the "Print" function doesn't seem to work. There is no option to set up a printer anywhere in the settings, even though there's a Print button in many of the documents screens. I'm not sure how to set that up, if it's even possible. That's slightly annoying, because I'd love to be able to print work orders direct from the tool. It would also be great if there was a Multi Point Inspection form built in. It could cut down on loose papers that you'd need to keep in stock for inspection, or reduce the overall software load on a dispatching system if your shop uses one. Autel also seems to be updating this tool to be a one-stop-shop for diagnostics. When I first got the tool it did not have an option for a lab scope, though it has the hardware capability for one. However, after I did a major diagnostic application update it added a lab scope option to the software. There's also an inspection camera feature. The actual hardware for both is sold separately, which is understandable. I'm going to be getting both in the future. Overall this is an incredibly solid and robust tool. The price tag was a little daunting at first, but now that Autel has added so many more features to this tool it is a fantastic price for an all-in-one diagnostic and key programming tool. I'm glad I paid the extra money compared to Autel's comparable MaxiSys tools, and received a spectacular system for my money. If you plan on doing any sort of key programming at your shop, buy this tool.

This is a seriously powerful tool. Coming from a 906BT, this unit is a terrific upgrade. Screen size, ergonomics, immobilizer functions, diagnostics... it does it all. I had a problem with only seeing one year of free updates which the seller corrected to the two years stated in the ad. On top of that, I received a free Toyota immobilizer cable set for my troubles. A+ to both the seller and the scan tool.

Used this tool to program key for 08 acura tsx with no issues took 5 minutes, i bought the tool because it comes with a j box and you can program modules and ecm's etc with a laptop and manufacturer's software you don't use tool for that but the j box. Just didn't realize you need to be a computer guy to do so. This tool can do almost anything you just need to know what you are doing. I'll be doing my research to farther expand my knowledge on computer software

It’s a decent unit. If your primary job is diag with some key/immo work this will get the job done. It does BMW CAS keys with no issue. However the lack of programming support for BMW and Mercedes is outrageous. This unit tops the 908 elite in price. The inclusion of the immo module and the breakout connectors shouldn’t limit this device when it comes to programming those cars. As a mobile tech I was hoping to have an all in one unit. I knew at the time of purchase I would have to still carry my laptop with all the diagnostic software still.

I purchased this item for my business and so far all is well there are a couple of things that the machine is supposed to do and I don't have the option to do them so I'm a little disappointed in that.
