Actually... it may be the very best. For almost 40 years, I've considered the "gold standard" of computer keyboards to be the mechanical keyboards that shipped with original IBM computers in the 80s. I cut my teeth, so to speak, on one of those keyboards, and every last keyboard I had used since then fell miserably short, regardless of who made it or how much it sold for. Not even other mechanical keyboards were a match for that beauty. When I lost the battery compartment cap to my old A1242 keyboard I'd used every day for almost 15 years, I decided it was time to just replace the keyboard. It had been dropped and banged around so many times, the arrow keys and right Option key didn't work half the time, and feeding it 3 AA batteries every two weeks (every 7-10 days when I was using rechargeable batteries) was just not working anymore in an age where everything is rechargeable. I decided to go big and got the full-size, and I'm SO glad I did, because it let me assign functions to all those extra function keys. For example, I use hit F13 to show all windows, F14 for application windows, and F15 for desktop. The battery lasts quite a bit longer than the disposable batteries in the A1242. I got almost a full month out of the first full charge, without turning it off when not in use. But most importantly? The FEEL! These keys feel just right under my fingers. They have just the right amount of travel distance when pressed. The right resistance against my fingers. Just the right size. This keyboard is just RIGHT in every regard. So right, it leaves me puzzled, wondering how the same company that created this work of art was also responsible for creating that abomination they passed off as a keyboard on my early 2019 MacBook Pro. Well... At least they got it right this time! And, when I consider the difference in clacking noise between this keyboard and the IBM mechanical that I also love, this one may just come out ahead after all. ... show more

I watched the video to reconfigure and remap this keyboard to a PC, and still working on the finishing touches of the remapping, but it's excellent. Very lightweight, so I can move it around my desk easily. Just what I needed, as I work from home.

Bought this to replace old wired Apple aluminum keyboard (model A1243), which I loved, but I spilled water on it, which fried it. This keyboard looks the same, perhaps is the same basically minus two USB ports I never used, also is aluminum, but feels better (perhaps because is new without years of my pounding on it). The bluetooth is simple, pairs fast, stays paired, i.e., what bluetooth should do. Works with or without without plugging in. Plugging in I think is solely to charge - it always uses bluetooth. Have had it only 3 days, but, remains at 100%, and I use it frequently during the day and night, although total maybe 2-3 hours/day actually typing. No wire means less clutter as I'm working. ... show more

I really like this keyboard. I almost bought a cheaper, non-Apple keyboard to pair with my MacBook Pro, but I'm really glad I didn't. This keyboard has the exact same layout as the laptop keyboard, so swapping from working at a desk to working on the couch is seamless. No moments of getting used to the different keyboards at all.
