My daughter and I were able to sit under the canopy during a rain shower without getting wet. Construction/Sewing is decent, the material will clearly breakdown quickly from sun exposure as it is kind of brittle to start with. Its also almost 2 feet smaller in each direction than stated so go bigger. But its real cheap, can get an install kit SEPERATE for like 15 bucks too. Got this for my raised bed garden since the heat in Texas just burns up the plants something fierce. It was easy to install. Just had to put up some posts in order to have something to attach it to. The shade is really helpful, and it still let's enough light through so the garden has light to grow.

I bought this when I had a birthday party this year at 51. I was able to hang it over my patio on an especially hot day where there was a heat advisory. It made such a big difference. My swing and another chair or directly under it, and I’m able to sit out there and relax with without excessive heat. It has rained many times since my birthday and there’s not a rip or tear nor any sign that this thing is falling apart. If you hang it right and if you buy it with the tool kit that helps you hook it up it will last you a really long time. My birthday party was in May. It is now August , I will come and update if there’s any change, but I don’t see one in the near future ... show more

I don't have a garage or a carport for my vehicle so I came up with the idea of buying this product and making my own carport.
