This hoop turned out to be an excellent choice for my ten-year-old grandson, and it was easy enough to put together. The directions were clear, the diagrams obvious, the print legible, and with all the parts numbered and separated, there was no confusion about the sequence of steps in setting it up. I was looking for a hoop I could move if necessary and one without a large base that would allow the ball to ricochet off into my busy street. (Some of these kits have an angled plastic stabilizer in front that in my opinion interferes with play.) With such a big project, it was important to me to be able to contact customer service in case there were any missing or defective parts although none of the reviews revealed any issues. This net fit the bill. It was also affordable. The adjustablilty of height was also a big plus. You can use two poles or three for the maximum net height of ten feet, increasing or decreasing every half foot or so. I used the three-pole option and despite some reviews suggesting it might be more wobbly, found it perfectly stable. After putting it together, I tightened all the screws a last time and placed a zippered sand bag over the base to secure it. The instructions say to fill the base with water or sand, but then it's hard to move around even with the two wheels. Also, water might freeze or leak, so sand bags seemed to me a good compromise. For the record, I put most of it together by myself, but it really takes two people at the very end to put the top and bottom poles together to stand up the hoop. It took me a few hours to assemble as I wanted to take my time. Other reviewers noted how well packaged the screws and hardware were, and this was indeed the case. After putting it all together, however, I hit a snag with the piece that adjusts height. Unsure of how to proceed, I emailed customer service who got back to me in lightning time with a video and instructions. Due to a new, more streamlined design, the adjustability function simply required a tap with the hammer. We bought this hoop for our middle schooler to put in our driveway and it has been a fantastic addition to the home. Installation was very easy with detailed instructions and it also came with some extra hardware. Currently we are using sand to fill the base and it has been very stable. However, I would suggest putting some extra weight with sandbags or some other items if you are planning on doing any sort of aggressive dunking. We have had no issues running shooting drills, layup lines, and bank shots. It feels very realistic and just like the ones you can find in commercial gyms. Additionally, the ease with which we can adjust the height of the hoop has been a life saver for when the kids want to have dunk contests with their friends. Pretty easy to put together. Love that it raises and lowers easily. Only bad thing is the plastic backboard. It vibrates and absorbs energy from shots making it very different from a traditional backboard. Just something to get used to, I guess. The material quality is good. I helped my husband to install it so it was easier with two people. The instruction video was very helpful. Being able to adjust the height easily is one of the most important part for us since we have different age ranges in the family. And adjusting height is smooth and easy.
