The media could not be loaded. At first I thought there were some blemishes. But they rubbed right off, it must have been some leftover cleaner or something. The sound is good with or without a pick. Pros • The action is so low straight out of the box. With no adjusting of the truss rod. This can be a con if this bothers you but I find it makes it so easy to fret. • GCEA uke strings are included in case you want to switch to standard tuning. • All the little accessories are a great touch and very essential. • Its absolutely stunning. High gloss finish, this was a pleasant surprise. Gloss finish is not mentioned in the specs and it makes this uke even more beautiful. • Wooden binding, blackwood and other details are very unique setting this uke apart from all others. • The gig bag has a very nice sized pocket. Plenty big enough to hold all the included accessories and a small notebook or sheet music. • It was packaged very well, ensuring no damage happens during transit. Cons: • The Battery pack rattles. The company should consider an under saddle pickup because this one cant be adjusted or repaired due to the non standard sound hole. It also did not come with a battery, nor is there anything that says what size battery should be used. That being said. I have not been able to test this uke on an amplifier yet. • The strap that is included is for a uke with a standard hole. The clip in "neck strap type" of strap will not work for this uniquely holed uke. This is probably the most frustrating of all cons to me, as I was expecting to have my first uke with a strap only to find the included strap will not work with this uke that it came with. • The tuning keys are a very cheap looking plastic. • This is more of a personal preference, but the gig bag doesnt open all the way. • Also personal preference, but the BatKing brand sticker at the top is very distracting from the overall beauty of the uke and does not match the style of the uke at all. Overall. For the price, I think this uke is a steal. Its absolutely gorgeous and even if I cant play it well yet, it is a great conversation starter. Everyone who sees it falls in love with it. I had to make sure to write an extensive review because there was none when I purchased. I took a gamble on Prime day and boy did I hit a home run!

I love my new ukulele! I started learning ukulele with a concert, but after that one broke a friend recommended trying out a baritone ukulele. It's been a great decision and it's been easy to transfer my traditional ukulele skills to something with different strings. After having it for 3 months and tuning it every day it holds a tune well enough that I only worry about tuning it twice a week. Accidentally left it in my car a couple of times in hot summer weather and after cooling down it was just fine!

UPDATE: DO NOT BUY! The back of the neck, where the thumb will be most of the time is delaminating. The intonation of the instrument is terrible. I have been playing Uke since 2015, so I know how to tune. Unfortunately, it seems I’m stuck with it, as I only noticed the issues a few days after the return date. Hopefully I can save others from getting a wall hanger. Please don’t buy this instrument!!! ————- Initial response.— I was WRONG! It's always a gamble purchasing no-name instruments from Amazon, but with the exception of a couple of purchases years ago, (one which the manufacturer made good on), I've been pleased. I'm a GCEA player but wanted to explore a DGBE Baritone uke for my own education without spending $400+. This instrument fulfills that very well and it a great place to start. Sometimes inexpensive instruments can be so badly built they discourage wannabe players from the get-go. It's nicely built, attractive, has lovely details, and comes with a lot of accessories. including a great gig bag. I'm pleased with the sound quality, and I look forward to learning it. I haven't had to use it, but the truss-rod was a sell-point. (I did purchase an 8 string Uke years ago, and the neck is bent! And that was from a well-known manufacturer! It's now a wall-hanger! It NEEDED a truss-rod.) I like the tone and feel of the 4th and 3rd wound strings. I don't intend to make this a GCEA instrument, but it's nice to have that option. Order the CR2032 batteries as they do not come with the instrument. I play amp'ed instruments for the occasionally open mic, so I love having the EQ option, though I haven't tested it since I don't have those batteries on-hand. All in all, we're off to a great start! Thanks! This instrument fulfils my needs at this time.

This ukulele has a rich, warm tone. The electronics are appreciated and work well with this instrument. The built in tuner is quite handy and useful. Although the sound hole/holes are very different, it doesn't seem to effect the quality of sound or indeed the volume when playing acoustically, without an amplifier. The price was affordable especially when you consider it comes with a gig bag, capo, extra strings, picks and a strap. I choose a baritone size because it is tuned the same as the top 4 strings on a standard guitar. D,G,B,E so fingerings are easily recognized and transitioning from guitar to this baritone ukulele was very easy. If you are a current guitar(acoustic) player and want a fresh new sound, try a baritone ukulele, you won't be sorry or disappointed, they are inexpensive and can give you a different avenue to fill the desire of playing music. Go for it!

Keep in mind, the bridge is high and definitely needs to be sanded a bit to be closer what i would consider playable (this is a perfectly normal adjustment the vast majority of new ukuleles need anyway). Otherwise this is basically a perfect beginner ukulele with an appealing style that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to my students. Ukuleles with truss rods are always welcome, and the piezo pickups give any beginning ukulele player interesting directions to grow both live and in the studio. mahalo!
