I have an office with a huge L-shaped desk that doesn't have drawers (?!) and one bookshelf. I didn't want my desk to be cluttered with a bunch of stacking letter trays that blocked my clients' view of me (and vice versa) if we are meeting. I found this and thought, "Heck yeah! Reverse the trays--instead of up, they go down!" Since my desk has no drawers, I have plenty of under-desk space to put things like this. So... I buy it. Generally speaking, it's a good product. I like that it doesn't hang down so low that it cracks me in the shin every time I shift in my chair. But it does extend down pretty far, so I put it underneath all the way at the edge of the desk. I haven't had a problem with my shins or thighs. HOWEVER, it slides around a lot. To be fair, I did not anchor it to my desk with the screws provided because I was worried about scratching or putting little punctures in the desk's surface. So it slides. If I move a cord that's laying on top of it, it slides. If I pull something out of it at less than a straight-on angle, it slides. I'm always pushing it back to the edge of the desk. I would have liked to have seen some rubber stoppers (adjustable or not) underneath that touch the underside of the desk that would help it slide less and make it feel more sturdy. So I learned to only put things in it that I wouldn't use all the time. I have some plastic project pockets in it right now. I'll probably put a reference manual in there or something, too--it would be easily accessible, but I'm not always grabbing it. My one major dislike is something unavoidable, honestly, and I can't lower my rating because of it. I hate the flat surface on the top that slides over the desk. It makes everything uneven, and it's a pain to try to work around it because it slides so much. I feel like I lose that square footage on the desk surface, so I might as well have put a 4-tray letter organizer on top of the desk. So, to recap: I gave four stars. It's pretty good and would probably be better if it was properly anchored, but I also didn't want to destroy my desk. Sturdiness: So far it seems sturdy, but it feels less so because it's not properly anchored. Value for money: It was what i think is more expensive than normal for something comparable. In other words, a 4-tier letter organizer to sit on my desk would cost half as much, so I think as far as value goes, it's meh. Durability: I've had it about a month. I have no idea. But at hasn't fallen apart after I constantly push it back to the edge of the desk, so that may be saying something. Overall, I think you'd have to buy it and see if it "worked" for you. I think it's hit and miss and it all depends on your work style, your organization system, and other things unique to you. Despite how much I complain in this review, I would tell my co-workers to buy it and see if it works for them, and if it doesn't, return it. ... show more

This is a very solid and versatile product, just what I needed to take advantage of extra space under my desk. This would have easily been a five-star product if it weren't so hard to install. It is attached to the desk with four screws which are located directly above the storage unit. Even with pre-drilled holes in the desk, you will need a right-angle screwdriver to attach the unit to a desk. Installation would have been much easier if there were mounting "ears" that stuck out to the side of the unit or a bracket that you could attach to the desk and then slide the unit into. Overall, I highly recommend the unit, but it will take some extra effort to attach it to the bottom of a desk. ... show more

I needed extra everyday desk file space in our new office, my new desk is the same L style as my home office desk but slightly smaller surface dimensions, my goal was to recreate the exact same layout space because it's functional and works best for me but the slightly smaller thing required some creativity - this works for the most part, my only complaint is that I have a strip of protective no slip down and despite the securring screw piece on the underside of it it moves periodically so I had to loosen it alittle in order to be able to move it back into it's place when it does move, unfortunately this causes kinking and little tears in the no slip ... show more

This organizer is well-made and sturdy, all-metal construction. The photos are representative of what you'll get. Overall, I'm satisfied with it, but does have two design characteristics that you should be aware of. I'm not sure of the design logic, but the slot into which you insert your table/desk surface stops about two inches short of the front of the organizer, resulting in it protruding by the same amount. This shouldn't be a problem unless you're using it in tight quarters, in which case you may find yourself bumping into it. Also, be aware that if the desk or table has a beveled edge, the padded "feet" on the top surface may hang off the edge, with the potential for marring the due to metal-on-wood contact. If the beveling is shallow or is reverse beveled (i.e., the top sticks out further than the bottom), this probably won't be an issue. On my traditionally styled desk, the beveling is 1/2 an inch deep, and only about the last quarter of the tiny front pads manage to engage on the desktop. ... show more
