I have a clear roof on my lanai and it can get really warm. This shade is so nice. It filters the sun making it much cooler. The color is much prettier than in the pictures. The media could not be loaded. We have the world's sunniest Colorado deck and haven't enjoyed it as much as we should. This shade sail was the perfect solution! Installing took a small feat of engineering because we didn't have anything to anchor it to and didn't want to drill into the house. I found these umbrella pole holders that clamp to your deck posts, and then got 4 steel poles at Home Depot and some cheap pipe clamps to tie the strings to. The poles need to be thick steel so they don't bend- you will apply a ton of tension to them to ensure your sail doesn't bow. The umbrella pole holders were $65 each on Amazon so it was kind of expensive but all damage-free and very easy to install so it was worth it. The sail provides nice shade and it has held up very well during an entire week of rain and gusty storms with just the strings it came with (and very good knots). ... show more

This product is as expected, a sail shade that gives some UV protection, also some light protection from rain. You can see in my photos that it clearly measures 8 by 8', not 10 by 10' as advertised. I wanted the longer length to have more sun coverage and protection on my pergola. However, I decided it is good enough and hung it anyway. They may consider the corners that are longer than the square shade in their measurements, but I don't think that is fair, if that is what they do. Maybe I was just shipped the wrong size? I'm okay with the product except for the size not being what was expected. ... show more
