Just received it today. So far I give it 4 starts and not 5 because the startup was not smooth. For some reason it asked me to go through a second time, and on the second round the "automatic" system didn't work. But now that i have the initial setup complete it seems to be really nice.

My old 2018 iPad Pro worked flawlessly. But its battery had begun to drain very quickly , which led me to acquiring this one. But for the camera array, I would never have known that this 2025 variant was different iPad. Physically, it looks to be the exact same dimensions even down to the bezels as my old one. But using it has been a vastly different experience than my old iPad. For one thing, the camera on the old iPad sometimes struggled to read my face, particularly if I was leaning back in my chair. To say that the camera for this iPad is wickedly fast would be a great understatement. These cameras are so fast, I barely even know that they have just scanned my face, when in fact they have. Setting up this iPad was a breeze. There is an app that allows one to set the old iPad right next the new one, scan it, and then let it do its thing. Connection to the same WIFI was necessary for the experience. But the fact that it was all done wirelessly was the height of convenience, although it did annoyingly stall a few times. Everything on this iPad is smooth and lightning fast. And it comes with some AI features which are not exactly overwhelming when compared with the impressive array of AI features that my Samsung Galaxy S23 has. But it is still nice to have AI features in my tablet. One of the most impressive AI features is the ability to remove any image from any picture. Photo bombing can be remedied in a just a few steps. The quality of the pictures is on another level. Colors are noticeably vivid, and stand in sharp contrast. With multitasking, this iPad is a beast. With the ability to float any number of apps at the same time with relative ease. While the use of multi apps was possible in my old iPad, this one enhances that ability greatly. I still think that the 11-inch variant is more optimal than the 13-inch variant of this iPad. But the 13-inch variant could easily replace a laptop. The trouble is, I already have a laptop. A tablet is the most convenient medium for media consumption because it quite portable, yet has substantial screen real estate compared to a phone. I would have liked to see a variant between the 11-inch and the 13-inch. In my opinion, the 13-inch variant eliminates the portability that a tablet is supposed to provide. But I digress. To summarize, the best way I can describe this iPad compared with my 2018 variant, is that it is like taking out the engine, transmission and the cloth interior of a Toyota, and replacing it with those from a Porsche. Outwardly, there are minimal changes between this iPad and my 2018 variant. And so it is rather underwhelming from that perspective. But all of the changes are to be found in the interior and under the hood of the former Toyota. And in that regard, there is simply no comparison with this Porsche which has leather seats and a twin turbo flat six engine.
