My Ipad air 2 developed a hairline crack out of nowhere, and it was driving me nuts, so I figured it was time to upgrade. I know spec-wise this ipad blows even the ipad air 2 out of the water, but I really don't NOTICE huge performance increases. In other words, the Ipad air 2 was stilll running everything really smoothly. If it hadn't been for the hairline crack, I'd still be on the Air 2. I guess I am set for a few more years now with this Ipad Pro. I don't regret the purchase... the regular Ipads these days don't have the advanced screen technology that the Air 2 and Pros have. The laminated display. That is a must have for me.

This is my third iPad, and they keep getting better. I started with an iPad 3, later upgraded to an iPad Air 2, and now this. The jump from iPad 3 to iPad Air 2 was amazing. The jump from iPad Air 2 to iPad Pro 10,5 is nice, but certainly not as big. Still I really like it. I'm not going to try to do a full review of this thing. If you want that, visit one of the endless websites or videos. Instead, I am going to go over some of the things you may not hear as much about. USB 3. This is a big one for me. I have dumped my MacBook Pro in favor of the iPad Pro for on the go photo editing. With Lightroom Mobile and a USB 3 to Lightning adapter, this is very possible. I was doing this on the iPad Air 2, and it was ok, but the RAW files took a long time to download off my memory card. With this iPad Pro, the connection is full USB 3 speed. Now I can download my CF card at nearly the full 165MB/s rating, meaning the photo fly onto this device in no time. On a set of 200 photos, this will save me over 10 minutes of time! Cases: There are not many out at the time of this review. And especially in the keyboard case area, it's slim pickings. If you are picky about your case, you may want to wait a few months as more are surely to arrive. Finish: The space gray color is really nice. Matches my phone and watch perfectly. After a few days of not having a case, it doesn't show any scratches and finger prints don't show well. That isn't to say the finish won't scratch, but it's nice to know that it's tough enough to survive if needed. Microphones. The microphone position has changed. It used to be closer to the rear facing camera. For taking impromptu videos of the kids, that was nice. But the new position is easy to cover with my large hands. Just be careful or you will end up with muddled sound Battery: The battery life is excellent. Even with playing a smattering of games, watching content, surfing the web, reading news, etc, I have found my average battery life is 12 hours before needing a recharge. Charging: The flip side of that is charging. Charging this does take a bit longer, as it's a heftier battery inside. But, if you get a USB C 30W charger with a USB C to lighting cable, you can take advantage of quick charging to give yourself juice faster. This is not something Apple has been advertising, but it's a nice touch. Plus, it really is faster, the screen is bigger, and it's a great experience.

There are a few reasons I purchased this here on Amazon instead of Best Buy or directly from Apple, currently it is selling for the full price of $800 but if you are a Prime member and more specifically if you have a Prime credit card you earn 5% cash back with this purchase, essentially $40 back plus you can pair that with applying any cash back you've already earned with the Prime credit card and get a pretty good discount on a new iPad. I had $50 earned already so it was $750 and there was no sales tax added so an additional $100 in savings vs Best Buy or Apple. The only down side I found to ordering here is they delivered it via Fedex and required a signature upon delivery but only deliver while I was at work and no option to hold at Fedex location, luckily a family member could sign while I was gone otherwise they hold for 10 days (ironically enough at a Fedex location) and then return to seller. Now onto my review of the actual product. I am very impressed with this iPad it's very powerful, almost too thin, speakers actually sound decent. In terms of my main use (art) this is incredible. Using the Apple pencil and Astropad this is essentially a Wacom Cintiq when you need it, a tablet to zone out to apps or media when needed, and a nice screen for reading. The refresh rate is no joke 120 is noticeable and the screen being laminated to the glass makes it feel like you are drawing directly onto it not like drawing on other screens. The price is high, VERY HIGH, but I think if you are a creative and can incorporate this into your daily workflow it is well worth it especially for how versatile it is. My only gripe with the iPad itself is the camera bump it is almost exactly the thickness of a penny and if you don't have a case on the back it will make itself very well known if rotating or sliding your hand across the back to adjust grip. Overall 9.8/10 would buy again. I can not speak for the magnetic dock and keyboard because I have no intention on using this as a laptop replacement unless iOS 11 is just THAT good, highly doubtful though.

Never liked Apple devices even though I started out with an Iphone 3s years ago. Bought this as rest of family are diehard Applephiles and the price was right. Arrived in mfg packaging and was in perfect condition and brand new. There is not much you can say about apple products except this one with the "pro" designation was expected to be more than a regular Ipad. I do not believe there is much difference although I have nothing to compare it to- except my Surface 3. Screen is great, but the auto tone control does not seem to be much better than manually adjusting. Works very well and has 256 gb on board. Wait, you say you cannot expand memory? Right, no expansion slot. You have to trust the icloud to protect you. The Apple security features are a pain. You have to use some sort of id to do anything. I am using both a pass code and the finger print resder. The finger print reader works very well. However, I do miss the ability to store certain fikes on an sd card, and bluetooth connection every other os allows. The price was right and it does work nice.
